Eye of Fire-A quest

"We found a few oars, as well as a few burns, but it seems seaworthy. It could also fit all of us. I think thats the reason we are here at this particular point. So who is for sailing? I know I am"

:: Rama looks around to see who is willing to move on ::
 
"I'm up for it it, I mean it's our only way off this god foresaken Island. I just wonder how long it'll be before we actually get to land. Do you think the burns will be a challenge for us at all? I mean if the boat falls apart we're in big trouble. We've got to make sure of everything before hand so we don't have to deal with it later."

:: She said to Rama and Maia. She begins to walk towards the boat still anticipating their answer, sure the other members would agree with sailing to the boat even if it did mean miles of water and possible deaths. ::
 
:: Kurama follows Euth. He nods and says.. ::

"Well, like if the boat begins to fall apart, I believe me, Maia, and Tobias, could use our TK to hold it together long enough for something to be thought of to get to safety. Or, something else will be thought of"
 
:: Looks around the island quizzically ::

Riight....

:: Follows Kurama and Euth ::

"Yeah, I suppose that would work...I think..."

:: Hops into the boat, if you could call it a boat, and picks up an oar ::

"Step aboard, me maties!"
 
:: She begins to follow the group, pondering the postives and negatives of what could happen by using the boat. But it looked, to be their only option.. Glancing around the island, she noticed no other way.. So she contuined to follow the group, throwing out her 2 cents. ::

"I'd have to say this is probably our only way off this island.. And we mine as well use the boat, if it can hold us. I trust Rama and Maia.. So lets get going. The quicker we get off this island, the better.."

:: She said, as they get to the boat.. Before hoping on, she spots Tobias hop on.. And waits to get on the boat.. Waiting to see what they would need to do to the boat first, if anything. ::
 
As the boat's hull touches the water, the ocean immediately surrounding the craft ignites with flame, the heat rises quickly forcing a quick retreat back to the safety of the island. Concerned more with their own safety, the boat is left partially in the water and begins to burn...
 
:: Rama goes wide eyed as he sees the ocean ignite in flame. He flips off the boat and lands on the beach. Then with a flick of his hand he lifts first, Maia, Syd, and Euthalia off the boat with TK and then Tobias and Amy. ::

"Woah, okay, so now we know how the boat got burned"

:: Rama quickly struggles to pull the boat back in before it totally burns up and becomes useless ::

"Just in case we find we can use it later"
 
"Okay so that didn't exactly work.... What if we search the island for another method of transport since our way back to the desert dissapeared?"

:: Euthalia said when she was safely back on the island, looking around. ::

"Does anyone by any chance have a flashlight or some light source? It'd help us so much if we could find one to explore the island with."

:: She took a step forward looking around. ::
 
:: Maia scrunched her nose, looking back at the boat, totally engulfed by the flames. She sighed, and looked over to Sydney and stood next to her, before shaking her head. She heard Euth talk about having a light source. She remembered she could conjure small items, and so could Rama. In a puff of crimson smoke, a flashlight appeared in her hand, before she handed it to Euthalia ::

"Flashlight, check."

:: She looked behind her, wondering what was on the other side ::
 
:: Rama nods to Euth and picks up what Maia is thinking. He held out his hands and in a burst of smokey rose petals three more flashlights appear. He tosses one to Syd and another to Maia and keeps the third for himself. He snaps his on and swings it around ::

"So now what to do? This island isnt that big and there doesn't seem to be many things to use here. If we could find another way to get across this body of water. I doubt using TK even with three people having it could part the waters enough to walk and then we dont even know if we would catch on fire. Too bad we dont have a fire or water elemental here or even both"
 
"There has to be a reason that it suddenly got on fire what if this water has oil or something? Unless there is something that doesn't want us to leave this island I mean we are looking for the Eye of Fire."

:: She replied turning on her flashlight and browsing the ground looking for anything that would provide some mean of transport for the group. Euthalia frowned as she saw nothing of interest around where she was standing.::

"Exactly how wide is this island I wonder..."
 
*She put her sword back into her boot and dived into the pool of blue light after the rest of the group, appearing on the island. She looked around, trying to figure out where they were and noticed a huge blob near them as the sun went down. She huddled in with the others as Rama and Maia went into the ship to investigate.*

"Hey Rama, didn't you say the castle was near here, or atleast this was a short cut? We can possibly use the boat to sail there if we can find it."

*She was about to get on when the boat burst into flames. She flew back gently as Rama pulled them all to safety, and then looked at him smiling. She stood up, holding onto him as most of the group tried to check out the island with the flashlights they had.*

"Oil, probable guess, or maybe we're supposed to be stuck here. Either way, we're going to have to go into the island. Which means we might meet the people that left that...boat...back there."
 
"What if, this if this is near the sorcerer's castle? I mean we think that we're in the middle of nowhere but the castle might be very close to us. You never know, after being embraced in the magickal world you've got to suspect everything likely and unlikely. Either that or it's a way to get there like one of those realms Ikaris was talking about. I mean he did say that we'd know when we got there, and right now this place is really standing out to me."

:: Euthalia said to the group continuing to check around where they were. ::

"Like Amy said, we might as well go inward we're going to go in anyways."

:: She began walking away from the water and closer to the inland. ::
 
As the group returns from the beach, Tobias notices something reflected in the glow of the flashlights. Rushing ahead of the others, he finds a pathway made of pearls leading from the center of the island down to the shore. It is wide enough that 2 people can stand on it side by side with out crowding.
 
:: Rama sees Tobias run ahead and he goes to catch up with him he looks and sees a path. He looks back to the others ::

"Guys look over here! There is a path, do you think we should follow it?"
 
'Well we might as well, if there's a path it's always best to follow it. "

:: She said in reply, trying to see how far it lead down. ::
 
In following the path, the group finds themselves returning to the center of the island just a few yards from where they arrived. The other end of the path appears to continue on into the ocean. In looking closer, they can see that the pearl path isn't being disturbed by the waves at all
 
"Pearls?? On a beach?? Who do you think made it?"

*She sees Tobias take off and follows after Rama towards the path. They continued down the path, walking as it lead them where ever. They finally arrive back to where they came from.*

"We're right back where we started."

*She looked around, trying to figure out what they hadn't discovered yet, and saw the waves of the ocean, banging on the shore from the light of the flashlights. She walked up towards them a little bit, trying to look into the water as best she could.*

"That's odd. Hey guys, look at this. Someone come over here with a flashlight."
 
:: Rama follows the path with the others and see that they are right back where they started. He continues on the path til reaching the waters edge. He shines his light into the water and sees the path continues below. ::

"Okay, so my best guess is this is the only path through the water. But we have no way to test this. I suppose one of us could begin the decent and see if they catch on fire or if on the path one is safe. But then there is the problem of breathing underwater. So what to do?"
 
:: Tobias was quite shocked when the ocean burst into flame, and also confused. He thanked Rama when he TKed him off the boat and followed the group when they had started off on their search with the torches ::

:: As they are returning to the beach he notices something glinting in the sand and he ran passed the others to go and fetch whatever it was. His first impression was that it was a piece of jewellery but when he got closer he realised that there was not only one thing glinting in the sand, there was a whole pathway of pearls leading down to the shore. He looked at it amazed.... ::

"I don't understand..." said Tobias, later when Rama had found his way back, "are we supposed to follow these pearls right underneath the water or what?"
