:: Pointing triumphantly as Haleigh smashed Morgan's face in the mud. ::

"HA! Betcha didn't see THAT coming."

:: Grinning, it was a bit sick for Ava to be enjoying herself this much...especially at Morgan and her sisters expense. But after the day she had been having, a little bit of fun like this was doing her some good. ::

"Since I would die if I ingested Hemlock...I expect a bottle of the finest wine you have, Miss Marble. We can have it over dinner tonight if you like."

:: Folding her arms, mission accomplished. :D ::

<< Morgan might have rested on her laurels too quickly, as she now finds herself falling down and being dragged into the mud FACE DOWN... it all happened so FAST!>>

"Magick can't solve EVERYTHING, Morgan. ALL that power and you're STUCK HERE like the REST of us.... so you MIGHT as well dismount your HIGH HORSE."

...STUCK HERE!?

<< coughing...and sputtering a bit...Morgan "expands" and physically BUSTS LOOSE from Haleigh's grip.>>

....you...

<< she's now on her knees as she grabs Haleigh by her face, holding it FIRMLY with one hand, and SMASHING a heaping handfull of mud in her face with the other...making sure to RUB IT IN real good.>>

stuck here with a two faced, emotionally bankrupt person like YOU? I'd rather evacuate to LIMBO. You drive EVERYONE away just when they THINK they can trust you...just when they think its OKAY to CARE about you! you do and say the most TERRIBLE THINGS and you WONDER why people want to kick your ass!

<< pushing Haleigh away so that she falls back into the mud.>>

THAT is how you make us feel...like we have MUD in our faces!

<< Morgan picks a BIG heaping amount of mud and lifts her arms above her head as she HURLS the mud down at Haleigh.>>

:: glaring at Ava.::

Oh i MORE than saw it...

FOUL! INTERFERENCE!

:: she bellows loudly as she attempts to wave her hand in front of Ava's face and block her from "advising" Haleigh.::

:: Morgan goes down...but moments later, she smashes Mud directly in Haleigh's face.::

you cheated from the very beginning...

:: she looks at Ava incredulously.::

I'm not providing ANY wine until we see replay footage via scrying pool! and once it has been reviewed, you'll owe me 5 hemlock potions...TOP SHELF!

:: Morgan is about to hurl a massive mound of mud down upon Haleigh.::

Haleigh swatted Morgan's hand away as the woman rubbed mud in her face. She LUNGED at Morgan, TACKLING the woman to the ground. She straddles Morgan and holds her down.

"Well THIS is how you make ME feel! How your MOTHER makes me feel! Like you're SMOTHERING the spirit right OUT OF ME and trying to stop me from breathing!"

She yanks Morgan violently back up out of the muck.

"Every TIME I think I can RELY on someone, they LEAVE! Cameron did it! Delilah did it! Alycia did it! YOU sided with your MOTHER and tossed me ASIDE just because I didn't react the way YOU thought I should, so EXCUSE THE HELL OUT OF ME for pushing people away out of SELF DEFENSE, but I'm so TIRED of getting HURT by the people who SUPPOSEDLY care about me!"

It was like watching a train wreck. You knew it was going to happen, you couldn't stop it, and you couldn't look away.

Morgan practically threw her sunglasses into Delilah's hands. Delilah wanted to joke about it being like handing someone your jewelry before a ghetto fight but thought better of it considering that wouldn't be so far-fetched. She put the glasses on top of her head. As Morgan marched off after the stalking off Haleigh, Delilah put up a hand.

"Uh - Morgan? Haleigh?"

But they had pretty much no idea she was on the planet by this point. And then it happened.

A mudslide right out of Romancing the Stone. But this wasn't Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. It was Morgan Victoria: "the most famous supermodel in the world" and "sorceress supreme"; and Haleigh Davidoff: techno-goddess soldier badass. Her mouth was agape at the sight below her. She didn't know if she should go down and help them or what. Then Haleigh dumped a bucket of mud on Morgan. Delilah winced and whispered. "Oh, Haleigh, Morgan is going to kiiilllll you."

As a catfight of monumental proportions ensued, Delilah stood, transfixed, with no idea what she should do. This hadn't been exactly what she had meant when she suggested Morgan go have it out with Haleigh.

"I'm getting them both punching bags for Christmas."

<< Morgan shuts her eyes tightly as Haleigh pushes her down into the mud...its like a bapstism in the mud! :igitt:>>

I HAVE to be there to defend my mother...its INSTINCT. She's not your enemy but you treat her as such...you REMIND her of Christopher..and you ALWAYS manage to DASH all hopes of friendship just when I LEAST expect it.

<< Haleigh says that Karen makes Haleigh feel like she cant even breathe and that Morgan tossed her aside so casually, that everyone she comes to rely on, LEAVES. Morgan was NOT one for being held down...and after a few moments to catch her broth...she yells out, sitting up and TUMBLING Haleigh over with a clothesline to send HER falling back down into the mud>>

well, you're ALWAYS attacking my mother. do you think that after all WE'VE been through at the hands of Christopher that we'd let ANYONE speak to us like that AGAIN? and YOU act like you can take people or leave them. No one could GUESS that you CARE about ANYONE the way you act!

<< she yells as she as pushes Haleigh down in the mud>>

You can't punish Alycia for the way CAMERON left! She's never deserted us and she hasnt deserted us NOW. she's TAKING A BREAK and she's getting some help! Something my mom has TRIED to offer you as she has EVERYONE ELSE on our team...

<< Morgan begins throwing , SLINGING mud on Haleigh hurridly.>>

hmph!

:: Alison said knowingly as Ava continued to swat at her hand.::

don't make me put YOU in the penalty box!

:: she said playfully as Ava nudged her.::

:: Haleigh had the drop on Morgan, and then Morgan yelled, turning the tables on Haleigh as she CLOTHESLINED her down into the mud and pushed her into it.::

OH! looks like Morgan just put Haleigh in her place...AGAIN!

:: Alison said as she deliberately obstructed Ava's view, laughing...surprisingly both Alison AND Ava were taking this well, considering that each of them had a strong emotional connection to one of the dueling women in the mud pond. the ROOT of the matter WAS serious but even as the catfight continued, the women were getting theier feelings out. no one was TRYING to KILL the other and perhaps it was THAT which allowed Alison and Ava to be able to stand back and even find some amusement in it all. EVENTUALLY this would be a story they'd ALL laugh about. one of many memorable moments in the family history of the Six. Even Delilah, who kept rather quiet seemed to enjoy a small amount of humour from this.::

well, you're ALWAYS attacking my mother.

Haleigh recoils haphazardly as Morgan attempts to CLOTHESLINE her.

"Well, I only give as good as I GET! The only way your mother and I communicate is by viciously castigating each other at the tops of our vocal registers and YOU running interference doesn't do ANYTHING except get in the way and damage OUR friendship so do EVERYONE a favor and BUTT OUT! Your MOTHER is quite apt at speaking for herself!"

Morgan begins to sling mud. Haleigh manifests a large metal shield to block the oncoming sludge and she begins to scoop handfuls to throw back herself.

No one could GUESS that you CARE about ANYONE the way you act!

"WELL! [throwing a glop of mud] I! [throwing another] DO! [throwing another]"

Morgan comments that Alycia hadn't deserted them. Haleigh never slowed down, she just kept punctuating her reply with scoops of mud.

"IT FEELS LIKE [splat] ABANDONMENT [splat] TO ME! [splat] and it's as much INSTINCT [splat] for me to lash out at the people HURTING ME [splat] as it is for YOU [splat] to protect your MOTHER! [splat] [as Morgan suggested Karen had tried to offer Haleigh help, Haleigh laughed sardonically, but she finally stopped throwing mud] HA! I wouldn't want your MOTHER to help me if she were the LAST SHRINK on earth! I'd rather get mental therapy from MALICE! At least when SHE was up front and wanted to be QUICK about killing me! Your mother drags it out and she would INSULT me to death if such a thing were possible!!"

Morgan accused Haleigh of throwing dirt on their family and Haleigh dropped her shield, looking a little hurt.

"You take that BACK."

<< Morgan narrows her eyes with disapproval as Haleigh speaks.>>

Don't you DARE tell me to butt out!

<< she slings mud in ernest, as Haleigh manifests a shield to block most of it.>>

have you ever TRIED talking about your issues with my mom to HER like a human being? do ever bother to ask her why she feels the need to speak to you the way YOU DO? MALICE wouldnt allow you an audience. she'd murder you and dispose of you as if you were a piece of trash. MALICE blighed your family's path. My mom has repeatedly tried to reach out and help you in good faith and you repay her kindness with....

<< renews her efforts of slinging mud upon Haleigh.>>

crass, unkind, even PREDATORY behavior!

<< Morgan pauses for a moment...as Haleigh loudly disputes Morgan's accusation that she doesnt care. her answer surprises the sorceress and she gets nailed with one of the gloppy mud balls. contorting her face, Morgan hurridly manifests a mystic shield around her outstretched hand and blocks more of the oncoming mud. she h adnt expected Haleigh to be so brutally honest like THAT.>>

<< the sorceress is still on her knees..breathing heavily as she is now totally covered in mud. she looks at haleigh for a moment.>>

We wouldnt have been able to help Alycia. everyone, even Hecate knew that. We HAD to let her make the choice that was right for her. that's what real friends do. we hold them close but we know when its time to let them go. she'll....she'll be back. It wouldve been EASIER for us if you hadnt done what you did....i just wish you'd understand that.

<< she said less hostile...as she settled a bit.>>

my mother is not your enemy...nor i....nor alison...but the things you say..the way you act...its HARD for us to tolerate...

<< lowering her hands..>>

I don't want to hurt you. <<exhaling and relaxing her body a bit>> We've come so far, the two of us. I've ever seen moments where you and my mother worked together.

You've stood by us....and ill never forget the night i was pulled through the seige perilous, how you tried your best to save me. its moments like THAT that remind me while you're an important, valuable member and yes...i DO consider you to be a friend but just like YOU have a "nature" and "defenses" so do i...and when someone lashes out at me or my mother..it's my nature to go after THEM twice as hard....so we....we need to work on that...on BOTH ENDS.

we need to find a better way to be Haleigh. you can't continuously attack my mother and expect ME not to take exception to it. and Neither she NOR I sits and PLOTS ways to hurt you. Far from it...I wish you'd understand that.

i've been so bitter and lost since coming here...i realize how far i've come since a year ago because being like this...it takes ALOT out of me.

<< something she would rarely admit.>>

look at us...fighting in a mud pond...did it REALLY have to come to this?

<< in someways yes...but hopefully this was a BREAKTHROUGH that would not repeat itself.>>

Nicolas watched, riveted, all thoughts of laughter or even smiles gone from his face. A situation that started as a laugh-in due to these two women having a running feud had turned into an opportunity, a chance to reconcile, really THINK about what was important, WHO was important.

Everyone else saw the issues, but until these two (and Karen, who could probably use a little mud herself!:raspberry) saw it, there was no breakthrough. But now, Nicolas looked on as he felt like he could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

He loved all of the women in this situation (even if Alison was currently being a grade-A bitch:nod:) for who they were and he was hoping that they would begin to see beyond themselves, see each other for who they were. Maybe it was happening, but only time would tell...

Morgan said:

"Yes, but at least THAT would be quick and relatively painless. Your MOTHER would incessantly harangue me on the folly of my ways until I was within an inch of insanity and THEN she'd happily turn me into a mechanical litterbox that automatically scoops out the cat shit! THAT'S why I don't try to talk to your mother.... and because I KNOW why she treats me the way she does. She sees in me EVERYTHING she taught you NOT to be and she's TERRIFIED that I will 'rub off' on you or somehow INFECT you, or any of the others. Good faith and kindness?? [sighing, looking off into the distance] I wish your mother had ANYTHING like that for me."

Haleigh says, her gaze shifting to her hands. She attempts to wipe off as much of the mud as she can, futile though it may be.

We wouldnt have been able to help Alycia. everyone, even Hecate knew that. We HAD to let her make the choice that was right for her. that's what real friends do.

"Well.... I wish I shared your selfless altruism, Morgan.... but I DON'T. YOU may have been able to let her go.... but that has ALWAYS been an issue for me.... since I was very young. When we got in the car crash that killed my father, my mother and I rode in one ambulance and they put my father in a separate one. We went straight to the emergency room, though we were not seriously injured.... in fact, we were released within the hour and went home.... My mother was devastated and though I understood death, I was an impossibly stubborn four year old. I refused to accept that my father was not coming home from the hospital, as we had. I just COULD NOT let him go. I immediately planted myself by the front window to wait for him. My mother was so heartbroken she couldn't bear to pull me away from it... hell, she could hardly operate.... Jeff was over at our house helping us so much he might as well have LIVED there. Mrs. Phillips cooked for us, Patch tried to distract me, to keep my company but no matter what, I would NOT move. I ate there, slept there in the window seat. After a fortnight, Jeff brought over a therapist to try to coax me out, but I inhabited the space.... nothing could draw me away. It was a total of four and a half weeks before my mother finally got me to leave the window.... over a month before I finally accepted that my father was never coming home. Oh, deep down, I knew he was dead.... but I just couldn't let him go. It has been this way all my life. I never liked that saying 'if you love someone, let them go'... it's the most ignorant cliche. I couldn't let Patch go. He only did what he thought would help US but I held on.... for YEARS. Hell, I couldn't let YOU go. I named a damn dog after you so I'd have a reason to say your name! I still look for Cameron. Even HERE. You may not understand... I KNOW that it's a problem of mine but I don't know how to fix it."

She said softly, looking back at Morgan.

"I needed to let Alycia go but I couldn't.... so I said those things... those hurtful things... in hopes that just to prove me WRONG, she'd stay. I wanted her to stay. Is that so bad?"

Haleigh stands up, caked in mud. She offers a hand to help Morgan.

"Yes... it would seem we BOTH have instincts to tame. It's just that SOME things are better left alone. Sometimes people need to work out their OWN problems, without any outside interference."

and Neither she NOR I sits and PLOTS ways to hurt you. Far from it...I wish you'd understand that.

"I DO understand that Morgan... I DO. Logically, I understand.... but emotions are rarely rational and YOU must understand that sometimes it FEELS like you... or more often, your mother.... LOOK for weak spots to attack.... I can't change that and you can't expect me NOT to react defensively to it. I said those things to your mother because of the way she was behaving towards Delilah... and in spite of what happened, Delilah didn't deserve to be run into the ground. Since no one ELSE was going to stand up to Karen, I took the initiative and I'll GLADLY accept the fallout from it because I BELIEVE I the right thing. Delilah has protected me many times over and so, I protected HER and I'll NOT apologize for it."

A bit of that stubbornness was rearing its head again.... but her voice was a normal volume and her body language was non-combative and it was obvious that she was only clarifying her stance in light of the resolution between her and Morgan. As Morgan asked if it was necessary to come to this, Haleigh looked down at herself and then at Morgan and laughed.

"You know.... it probably did. Now.... if you don't object.... I'm going to go shower. If I'm gone for a week, don't be alarmed."

She said, smiling, turning to leave. As she did, a metal bucket of mud appeared over Ava, Alison, Nicolas, and Delilah's heads..... and it doused them ALL instantly, appearing and emptying with the speed of THOUGHT.

"Hehe.... serves you all right for laughing... and Alison? You owe my sister a bottle of wine. She won the bet fair and square. Hmm.... Delilah... have you ever considered going brunette? That muddy color complements your tanner skin tone nicely."

:: Alison and Ava were pretty laid back during the entire mud fight, they both knew Haleigh and Morgan needed to get everything out in the open and just DEAL with it. After a few laughs and jokes between the two, finally, Ava stopped an nodded her head in Haleigh and Morgan's direction, indicating to Alison that they finally stopped fighting and were actually talking. They were getting to the root of their problems, and HOPEFULLY, it would solve them. ::

"They're making progress, finally. Perhaps there's hope after all."

:: The conversation between the two feuding members of the six ended on a light note with Haleigh joking. But...it also ended on a dirty note...a very very dirty note. Shrieking as mud was dumped all over, Ava's mouth was agape in shock as she huffed out scoffs, wiping away the mud from her eyes. ::

"UUUUGH! WHY the HELL did you do THAT for!"

:: Wiping the mud off her arms and chest, Ava couldn't help but laugh. ::

"You're such a bitch." :D

Nicolas smiled a bit as the conversation continued. It appeared that the pair was working through some things. Hell, even an understanding would be a BIG improvement, and as they seemed to stop, Nicolas found himself being drenched with mud himself. Laughing out loud, he started to telekinetically remove every stain when he decided to just keep it for now. He cleaned his hands and face, then slid smoothly down to where the women were, almost like a surfer on the muddy slope. He steadied Morgan upright and whispered in her ear playfully.

Share a shower?
:egrin:

Delilah once again was a little bit shocked that Haleigh brought her name into this "conversation" she was having with Morgan. She never thought Haleigh really noticed her at all. She couldn't help but smile - and breathe a sigh of relief that Haleigh and Morgan had ended up with a warm and fuzzy moment instead of a bloodbath. In some ways, those two were really suited to being friends - aside from Alison, they were probably the only two who could consistently stand up to each other and live.

But, true to form, Haleigh couldn't let things just end, and Delilah found herself covered in mud.

Too bad she's not a mechanical pressure washer...

She started to scoop off the globs of mud - then decided to mold some into a ball and lob it at Nicolas...little horndog that he was...

Nicolas was waiting for Morgan to mull his offer, looking as cool as possible, when a glob of mud struck the side of his head. From DELILAH, no less. He smirked as he looked over to the energy manipulator, and placed his hands facing each other, a la Street Fighter. Mud began to accumulate in between, and then he "tossed" it at Delilah as he yelled.

RYYYYUUUUUUUUUKEN!!!

hmph

:: noticing Ava's nod, Alison looked over and down to see and hear Haleigh and Morgan finally coming to the OTHER SIDE of the feud. the interesting thing was that neither Ava nor Alison allowed themselves to be "pulled in" to the catfight/argument...despite each of them being connected one of the combatants. they both understood that Morgan and Haleigh needed to settle this THEMSELVES and though Alison was currently being a bitch to Nicolas :D this prooved that she was not blindly biased to Morgan's point of view.::

:: she quietly felt a sense of relief as Delilah and Nicolas drew near and Haleigh and Morgan ended their fall out on a sound, calm note....::

:: her cobalt blue eyes suddenly snap wide open as she hurridly looks up just in time to "see" and FEEL mud dump down on her from a bucket! she sputters and coughs as she slowly wipes the mud from her face....standing with a look of total disbelief on her face as she GLARED at Haleigh. the others got nailed too. It was JUST LIKE Haleigh to do something like this...and Alison, having been so wrapped up with Ava, wasn't paying enough attention to ANTICIPATE this moment. Hardly anything to get upset over...but still, the Seer just had to say somehting::

I have....half a mind to send you into the OCEAN for that and you know i can do it...

:: pausing for a moment.::

but i missed my facial appointment an hour ago so i suppose this little crude "mud pack" of yours will do.

:: she said cooly, as her own sarcastic humour came out.::

:: she continued to wipe mud from her face...huffing with a bit of annoyance as Nicolas offered to share a shower with Morgan, prompting a STRONG eyeroll from the seer :D::

well....it appears that ill have to bring you a bottle of wine, Ava...

:: again she pauses.::

I'll teleblink a $6.99 bottle of Boone's Farm from the corner store as soon as i get this mud off! :D

:: the CHEAPEST of cheap wine. and with that, Alison BLINKS OUT before Ava can object :p she'd return later...after cleaning up::

"Hey!"

:: Before Ava could comment or even object to Alison bringing over 'Boone's Wine' of all things, Alison blinked away leaving the goddess standing there, drenched in mud. ::

"Alison, really? I knew you were CHEAP, but I didn't realized you were THAT cheap."

:: Smirking to herself KNOWING Alison was 'listening', Ava grumbled out a sigh as she flicked some mud off her hands. ::

"And on that note...I think i'll go get cleaned up. Brown isn't exactly my color of choice...."

:: Sending a playful glare in Haleigh's direction, Ava's body was then engulfed in a tornado of winds as she disappeared back to her villa. ::

the forest

<< Morgan felt like she'd engaged in a grueling work out...fighting in the mud which seemed to weigh her down more and more and with a woman who wasnt a weakling by any means...it would wear anyone down after a while.>>

<< as they got up and went to rejoin the others, Morgan was too tired to care that her best friend had been placing bets on her along with Ava, but Haleigh doused them ALL with buckets of mud...it was a surprising, yet funny moment as Ava and Alison both looked dismayed and Nicolas laughed out loud while Delilah seemed to keep her feelings hidden>>

well, look at it this way...out pores will be primed for cleaning in the shower now thanks to the mud.

<< she exhales slowly, looking at Haleigh, it was no longer so hard to tolerate the presence of the hybrid, her FRIEND. Nicolas asked about sharing a shower and Morgan smiled a bit....a hot steamy shower would be just the thing she needed and sharing it with Nicolas wouldnt be bad at all...but still...>>

sure...just remember, I'm in the shower to actually GET CLEANED UP! :p

<< she looked at the others...>>

well...why dont we gather together for dinner later this evening. you can all come to the rotunda we'll eat in the grand ball room.

<< with that, Morgan opens a disc and looks to Nicolas.>>

well...are you coming??

sure...just remember, I'm in the shower to actually GET CLEANED UP!

Of course, sweetheart. I am ONLY there to help you get all the hard to reach places.

Nicolas deadpanned as Morgan invited everyone for dinner at the rotunda. She opened a disk and ask him if he was coming. He nodded, fully expecting them both to come before this was over...:censored:

He sent a message to Mike, who had been watching via mind-link.

Show's over, man. The rest will cost extra.

*********************************************************

Meanwhile Mike, who was already jogging to the rotunda, almost fell laughing at the scene. He nodded to no one in particular as Nicolas left his active mind, but he knew that all was not completely hunky-dory. The real issue was upcoming, as now Haleigh and KAREN needed to learn to co-exist without such venom. And so he continued jogging to the rotunda, with only about 5-10 minutes to go to get there. He had changes of clothes there already and he was hoping that Karen would tender him an reception as warm as when he last came here.

At last the rotunda came into view and Mike jogged smoothly over towards Karen's wing...
