Nice to see the lone ranger and his trusty side kick have come to their senses and returned to the conference room!

Nicolas: Good to see you missed us, Karen

Mike smiled, holding up his hand in mock Native American salute.

MIKE: HOW

As Karen surveyed the journal, she noted the remorse felt and that the rest of the gold was fashioned into a cross. As Delilah questioned how this information could help, Nicolas spoke up.

Well maybe we could make some sort of offering or sacrifice to them using the gold, or alternately, use the gold as a link to them in order to deal with them in terms of an exorcism or maybe simply leading them to peace, depending on the true malice of the spirits involved.

Nicolas showed a bit of knowledge on the subject of the occult. He had figured a while ago that if you were going to sleep with a witch, you better make sure you know something about things that go bump in the night other than her ass.

<< for a few precious moments, the group has refuge from the fog but it wont last for long. they were feeling their way to a solution. it was the best they could do but it was clear SOME kind of "atonement" might be in order...but would it be too little too late?>>

<< as young Kyle focused on his mom, he found that the astral plane was still a big, amazing and sometimes scarey place. he'd see and feel many OTHER things when all he wanted was to dream or to find his mother. the thoughts of others, grown people who were bad to the core, but some who had good hearts too. But he focused on his mother and soon, after a few misses, he found her!>>

Kyle: mommy!!

<< the boy is still learning , and the scope of his powers is not entirely clear to anyone yet but he can SHARE what he sees and he does that...a gostly image shimmers into view showing his mother, who is in the dark lighthouse, the light flashing through at regular intervals and showing glimpses of her beautifull but worried face as her silver eyes dart around.>>

the lighthouse

[ Sharon was standing. She broadcast live until "white noise" had blocked her words from reaching anyone who might be listening. by now she knew it was the fog and she hoped that Haleigh and Nicolas had gotten Kyle to safety.]

[ Now she was alone. and the fog was swirling, RISING around the lighthouse as if it were alive with ANGER! it made the dark studio at the top of the lighthouse even darker with only the spinning light flashing through at regular intervals. Sharon moved slowly and quietly...listening with her perfect hearing for ANYTHING.]

[ and then ....the knocking came. it was HARD and LOUD, banging on the metal doors down below at the entrance. Sharon moved out of the studio, to the top of the spiral stair case, the generator was down by the doors as well and she realized ...]

the doors...they arent locked!

[ and so...despite the fear she felt...she slowly crept down the stairs in her silver high heeled boots even as the knocking persisted. reaching the bottom floor...she hesitates. Looking down she sees traces of the fog have seeped through the door and are now swelling INSIDE this area of the lighthouse! ]

oh...no....

[ she takes a few steps forward , just as the door seems to be coming UNHINGED and begins to PUSH back on it. Sharon is strong, FAR stronger than a normal man or woman and even some super human ones. She pushes...trying to brace herself against the door but then the knocking becomes louder more violent.]

STAY OUT!

[ she cries as she exerts more of her strength but despite being able to lift/press 50 tons, even her strength is no match for the super natural force, the spirit of revenge! and the door is BUSTED off of its hinges, the fog comes rushing in and the figures covered in sea water and sea weed can be seen looming. Sharon screams and retreats rushing up the spiral stair case as fast as she can before slamming the door shut and locking it.]

they're coming for me!

[ she tries to get ahold of herself before she PANICS, backing away from the door as the blades and hooks can be heard tearing into it. the spinning light continues to flash through the studio as sharon looks around frantically. before finallly looking around at the circular glass window...the ocean and open air around her! that's when she realizes that her only chance is to ]

get out of the lighthouse!

[ she turns and runs, leaping and crashing THROUGH the window with such force, taking to the air and flying up to the VERY TOP of the lighthouse..its steeple.]

As long as its here...maybe it won't bother Kyle!

[ she realizes that this may be her last night alive but she won't go without a fight.]

As the image of Sharon flickered into view, Nicolas moved to the young boy's side. He felt for how it must be to traverse the astral realm at so young an age, and he mentally reassured the young man as he reached out to his mother, adding his experience to the boy's mental might.

Easy Kyle, just like I taught you...

As Sharon fought against the fog and its malice, he gasped a bit, his mind immediately working to figure out how they could help her. As she took flight, trying to evade the wisps of death, he spoke to Morgan.

M (pet name alert!!!:makeout:), can you bring her here with a stepping disk?

the fog closes in

<< everyone could see that the fog was in part focusing its wrath on Sharon, apparently "it" was pissed that she had been so intregal in helping people to get to safety! but the woman was using her abilities to survive as best she could. Before they could even begin to try to do something for her or even go further on Karen and Nicolas' idea, it began to happn at the church too.>>

<< the wall nearest to Kyle began to swell as the impression of a face contorted in grief and anger could be seen forming and the faint scream of a man was heard...the room began to tremble as if caught in an earth quake and HANDS began to break through the stained glass windows around them, one of them grabbing hold of Delilah's hair and pulling her back hard while another pair of began to tear at the wall around the window...trying to pull bricks away to make a NEW opening for the figures to come through!>>

<< fists began to punch through walls around Ava, pulling her from her chair and about to slam her into the wall as well.>>

:: Ava sat and watched Alison's drunk ass bust into the room followed by Mike and Nicolas. Perking a single brow it was like three's company retard addition. With a shake of her head, Ava turned her attention to Kyle who finally brought up a picture of Sharon. Watching closely the fog was surrounding the lighthouse and began to seep its way in causing Sharon to take drastic messures and fly out of the window and perch herself on top of the structure. ::

"Shit...Morgan you have to get her out of--AHHHHH!!!"

:: Screaming as the fog people's arms came through the wall and grabbed her from behind, they intended to try slam her back into the brick. Fighting against their pull Ava reached for Blaze who was the closest person to her for assistance. Grasping Blaze's hand, Ava knew her powers were useless against the creatures, and not only that, they would be powerful enough to blast a hole through the wall causing the fog to flood into the building. She wasn't going to take that chance. ::

:: Ava's hand began to slip as the hands pulled at her legs and ankles. ::

"BLAZE I'M SLIPPING!"

Haleigh follows Alison, Nicolas, and Mike into the conference room. There's an exchange of humor, which Haleigh smiles at, before folding her arms and leaning her hip against the edge of the conference table. The group discussed a gold cross of some sort... and Haleigh scoffed.

"Hmmph. Why doesn't it surprise me that you all might assume you can solve this problem by throwing money at it? Maybe--"

She was interrupted..... Ava was ATTACKED! Kyle was in danger but Nicolas was right next to the boy and Haleigh was certain he would protect Kyle. Ava was reaching out for Blaze. Haleigh sprung into action, grabbing the wrist of the hand that had Ava and BREAKING it, grabbing Ava by the crook of her elbow and forcefully separating her. Haleigh stood back quickly, beginning to reinforce the walls with seamless, thick steel the strength of which would take a bomb to penetrate. She threw a glance over her shoulder at Alison:

"I thought you said this room was SAFER?!"

And while they tried in vain to come up with a plan to help Sharon and themselves, suddenly the fight had come to them. Delilah backed up as the walls began to swell, standing against one of the stained glass windows. But then there were a series of loud crashes as the windows were broken. Hands grabbed at her, pulling her back through the window.

Delilah struggled against the creatures’ hold, which only got tighter the more she moved.

“Maybe you guys have never heard of foglights?”

Delilah clenched her fists then, released them, her body illuminating as she expelled a searing laser blast which emanated from her body, enough to stun them enough to loosen their grip. Delilah fell back into the room just as Haleigh sealed it off.

She looked up at the others from where she had landed on the floor.

“Okay, I change my mind: throw the cross to the fog.”

LOL, great post.
inside the church

<< Morgan's face showed the agitation at being reprimanded by her mother, but she ceased her sarcastic banter with Ava for the time being. snapping her compact shut in one last act of defiance to her mother ;) >>

<< Karen comforted Kyle and began the search for thet journal and Morgan checked her finely manicured finger nails.>>

hmph. if anybody should be blamed for this it should be HALEIGH! I don't know why...but she doesnt even live here so when all else fails...blame the outsider!

<< she smirked a bit as Alison bust into the room followed by Nicolas and Mike. The sight of the two men cause Morgan to roll her icy violet eyes as Karen sarcastically chided them. she stood up waiting to see what would happen next. Her mother looked through the journal and found the last passage written. they began to discuss the idea of returning a golden cross and Haleigh made a smart remark.>>

<< Morgan looked at the woman with disdain.>>

Do YOU have any better ideas? Since you're in here with the rest of us and not out there?

<< at that moment, the images of Sharon were broadcast and Morgan took a more serious look as she watched.>>

She's alone in the lighthouse...look at the fog!

<< she points as it seems to rise up with ANGER around the tall structure as it focuses in on the woman inside. Sharon tries to halt the arrival of the figures in the fog but even her strength is no match for their force as they bang down the door and Sharon retreats up the stairs back to the studio before leaping out of the window and flying to the VERY TOP of the lightouse and perching herself up there.>>

<< Nicolas and Ava were both on the same page, asking Morgan to get her out of there but their attention was taken when they themselves were now becoming the victims of the fog's wrath Delilah and Ava both being attacked as hands came crashing through the stained glass windows, the walls were swelling and the scream of a man could be heard.>>

Ava! Deliah!!!

<< Morgan flinched as glass near her shattered and her soul sword "leaped" into her hand, causing that hand, arm and shoulder to become covered with eldritch armour! that was a sign of how DANGEROUS the situation was.>>

my SWORD.

<< Delilah freed herself from the grip of the hands and Haleigh rescued Ava. Morgan is silently relieved at Haleigh's fast actions and Delilah's quick thinking. as more hands came punching through, Morgan pointed to Blaze.>>

move away from the window!

<< moving in, Morgan swings her sword and SLICES OFF the hands that reach through the window but now the fog is is more than a little inside the conference room. Morgan embeds the sword into the floor.>>

Ava, Delilah ..are you alright?

where ever my sword rests...demons and other creatures cant go near it. maybe it will repell the figures in the fog as well!

<< the 2nd strongest person in the room, Morgan begins to move the large cabinet over to cover the opening of two of the windows.>>

we need to cover these broken windows!

:: Blaze held onto Ava's hands as best she could as the brunette managed to pull away her one leg from the grasping hands. With the fog person just holding onto her one ankle now, in an unexpected move by Haleigh, she broke it's arm and grabbed Ava by the crook of the arm, helping Blaze pull her away. As Haleigh reinforced the walls with metal, Ava remained sitting on the floor until Blaze helped her stand up. ::

"Thanks..."

:: A bit shaken up from the sudden attack and the fact she couldn't use her powers to defend herself without putting the others in jeopardy, Ava tried to slow her breathing down as she turned to look at Delilah who suggested they should in fact throw the cross into the fog. ::

"I'm with D on this one. Whatever we do we need to do it fast."

As little Kyle would broadcast images of Sharon, Blaze watched in awe at the boy's power, even at such a frail age. Nicolas would assist as the fog would envelope around the lighthouse.

The broadcast was cut short as Ava's piercing scream sliced through the air while Delilah defended herself as best as she could.

"Ava! Delilah!"

She turned to snatch onto Ava as the brunette reached for her. A quick hand would grab onto the woman's hand as Ava fought bravely to hold on. Grinding her teeth together to keep her grip from slipping.

"Hold on, Ava!"

Struggling to keep Ava next to her just as Haleigh would assist, breaking the creatures wrist. Blaze watched in shock. That woman was full of surprises.

While Haleigh reinforced the walls with steel, Blaze helped Ava up.

"Are you alright?"

Blaze would step out of the way per her sister's instruction while noting the appearance of the soul sword. It was never a good sign when the soul sword made an appearance.

"Too bad we can't copy your soul sword, Morg!"

While the others would assist with covering the windows, Blaze remained next to Ava in case something else tried to grab her. Her own powers would be futile here, especially against those creatures.

As Nicolas was still thinking, working with Kyle, the hands crashed through the walls. Sharon's image flickered as the boy was frightened and Nicolas held his shoulder firmly as he spoke.

Focus Kyle. Do not worry about here. I have you, I will protect you but you must stay with me now.

Nicolas was having a time penetrating into Sharon's mind, but her own son was not so encumbered. The image sharpened as she desperately moved to the top of the lighthouse. As Morgan spoke of the need to seal the windows after repelling the attack, Nicolas looked up and around the room. Kyle and himself slid over by the Soulsword. The stone floor peeled up, and sheets of quarter-inch stone began to cover the windows, anchoring themselves into the metal Haleigh manifested and the floor itself. He turned back to Kyle, who was doing well but increasingly worried about his mother.

Kyle, it's OK. Listen to me boy. Call to your mother. If she can fly here, we can retrieve her more easily. Remember how I told you, you can do it. I will be right here to help. Reach out.

Nicolas and Kyle both began to levitate as they penetrated Sharon's mind and spoke to her.

Sharon? It's Kyle and Nicolas. We are in the church. Fly to the church and we will face this together.

<< everything happened so FAST. Karen stayed near Kyle who was frightened and Nicolas did his best to keep him focused so that their link to Sharon would be maintained.>>

Help him, Nicolas! He's just a child!

<< Karen said as she looked over her shoulder to see Haleigh helping Ava and Delilah liberating herself. Had Delilah NOT been able to, Karen would certainly have gone to her aid without hesitation.>>

<< Nicolas lends his strength and support to Kyle, moving him over near the soul sword as Morgan attempted to repell the evil with her soul sword but the fog resisted. Haleigh, Nicolas and Morgan were sealing the breached points of entry and Karen went over to check Delilah.>>

Delilah! Are you okay?

<< Checking the young woman over for cuts or injuries, Karen ushers Delilah over near Blaze, Ava and Haleigh.>>

We should stay as close together as possible.

<< looking back over at Nicolas and Kyle.>>

They're going to try to get Sharon here now! I hope it's not too late!

at the lighthouse

[ at the very top of the light house, Sharon climbs to the ultimate summit, grabbing hold of the steeple and getting as good a balance as she can. it's cold and very dark, very gloomy, the fog is not AS thick, up here and the light that spins casts its ray of light even up here where she is now.]

they can't get me here!

[ she says softly as she struggles to get her balance.]

Kyle: mommy??

[ Sharon's silver eyes blink a few times as she hear's her son calling.]

Kyle?

[ the fog horn tolls mournfully as Sharon has what appears to be a BRIEF respite.]

Baby!!! are you alright? are you with Nicolas or Blaze?

Kyle: Yes, mommy. Nicolas and Miss Haleigh came to get me! we're all together at Miss Alison's church! the fog is trying to get us!

Sharon: Stay with Nicolas and the others, okay baby? They'll keep you safe.

[ she said with a more frantic tone, still hanging on to the steeple top, looking like a SPEC from a distant view against the lighthouse.]

[ the ray of light continues to wash over her at regular intervals as she hears Nicolas]

Nicolas: Sharon? It's Kyle and Nicolas. We are in the church. Fly to the church and we will face this together.

Don't worry about me! just keep Kyle safe.

[Sharon remained adamant. pitty she didnt look BEHIND her as the fog began to rise up...and soon the form of a man could be made out looming behind her.]

The fog is everywhere...I'm not sure even my SONAR would allow me to......

Oracle said:
<< the figure behind her is that of her dead husband ROBERT, looking similar to the others that have appeared in the fog...decayed, dripping with sea water, sea weed...hardly the man she knew, something much worse. changed by his icy, watery grave as well as the vengefull spirits that went before him. he now closes in on his unsuspecting wife and before the others can warn Sharon, it happens.>>

Robert: Sharonnnnn!!!

[Sharon's silver eyes widen with shock and PAIN. she gasps as Robert SLAMS his blade down into her shoulder. She cries out as she loses her grip and falls, sliding down the slope of the top of the lighthouse, sliding right into the waiting grasp of another apparition that climbed up the ladder!]

oh my god...NO!

[ she stops her fall by positioning her high heeled boots to hit the rails of the ladder. tears fall from her eyes...as she struggles]

the lighthouse and the church

<< and so, as the fog and the spirits within begin to make it very personal, those hiding in the church find themselves under seige once again even as they watch Sharon being attacked.>>

<< the room begins to tremble as the fog that is present inside causes objects to FLY around the room, and the dreadfull moans and voices of the spirits could be heard like the wind. objects were being hurled with tremendous force at Haleigh and Blaze.>>

<< cracks in the stone walls and floors could be seen as more fog began to seep in and the hands and ARMS began to punch through the walls! Morgan was assaulted by her FATHER...his one hand over her face, the other hand around her waist. more hands reached out and wrapped around Morgan's ankles, and wrists. the wrist covered in ARMOUR was safe but the other one was breaking!>>

<< the spirits were now focusing their wrath on those they most wanted and there precious little that could be done to stop them.>>

inside the church

<< everyone did what they could to reinforce the room, and now Kyle and Nicolas were reaching out to Sharon. Morgan watched intently as Sharon did her best to stay out of the reach of the fog but then, the room itself began to react wildly just as Sharon was attacked. the tremors were so violent Morgan began to stumble a bit and objects began flying around the room, namely toward Haleigh and Blaze!>>

Blaze watch out!

<< she was going to reach to pull Blaze out of the way of flying chair when she herself was accosted by a pair of cold, driping wet, slimy hands..>>

Christopher: Morgannnn...my little girl! come to daddy!

NO!!

<< he covers her mouth as his unearthly strength seems to out match her own and he pulls her away...choking her as other hands reach out around her and grab her ankles and wrists...>>

the church

<< Karen gasps and ducks as things begin to fly around the room...and it SHAKES so violently. but when her daughter is attacked, she can't remain on the sidelines.>>

Morgan!!

<< she rushes forward!>>

LEAVE HER ALONE!

<< she uses her magick , gesturing and weaving a pattern of power as golden hued rays of mystic energy manifest and blast at the hands and Christopher. >>

<< the blasts SHOULD have destroyed their targets, but all it did was cause Christopher's face to whip to the side. He kept pulling her back, toward the wall, toward the outside where the fog was waiting.>>

NO!!

<< she reaches her daughter, whose hand is reaching out to her!>>

<< Karen grabs hold of her daughter's hand and uses her other free hand to blast at Christopher or the other hands.>>

<< struggling.>>

GIVE HER BACK YOU BASTARD!

realization

:: as the chaos unfolded, Alison held back, standing away from the group and not interacting. She wasnt afraid, she very nearly didnt CARE about this moment. It had already "occurred" in her seer's eye.::

:: but there was something she could do, something she MUST do if she were to remain true to her desire to see her baby brother FINALLY rest.::

:: she knew that no matter what happened now, they wouldnt survive. not ALL of them at least.::

:: and so, as she rubbed her hands down her face, she slowly looked over her shoulder.::

you're not supposed to be working with them, Cameron. You shouldnt have to pay for what our greatgrandfather did...that blood falls on MY head as the oldest.

::she said softly as she slipped out of sight, through the door and and slamming it behind her with her TK. back down the hall into the sanctuary where it was now quite dark and cold, the fog had gotten through and was rolling, billowing down the center aisle.::

James Marcus!

:: she says as she walks slowly but without hesitation past the alter and turns to stand center, facing down the six figures gathere and facing HER with their red eyes and unearthly forms.::

the time for dramatics has come to an end...

:: she says as she stands tall in her black outfit and high heeled boots::

I have your gold

:: turning and holding out both hands...a rushing chiming is heard as she lifts the large, pure gold cross off of the floor and then it is enveloped by dark orbs as she TELEBLINKS IT into her direct grasp.::

My great grandfather stole it from you...

:: James Marcus walks forward a bit.::

and I must answer for it. I am here...and I'm not afraid.

:: she holds the large cross, using her telekinetic power to augment her strength to the point where she can carry such a heavy object .::

I am the direct descendant of the conspirator. your blood...and the atonement falls on ME, not my brother! RELEASE HIM and TAKE ME instead!

:: she stands with a grim look on her face as James Marcus himself lumbers forward, drawing forth his sword as he closes in on Alison.::

the lighthouse

[ Sharon, who has a stronger physical constitution than a regular human and even some mutants, struggles to keep from panicing as she reaches over that PULLS the blade out of her shoulder.]

AH!

[ she looks up, seeing Robert and another figure with worms coming out of his face closing in on her and she lashes out as her sense of self preservation goes into over drive.]

STAY BACK!

[ SLAMMING the blade across Robert's face with her super strength, it SHOULD have taken his head CLEAN OFF! but it did not! itstead, an acidic, "green" substantce came gushing instead of blood and his slowly turned his decrepit face to look upon her as he and the other figure closed in...]

no! NO!

[ she struggled to fight them off, striking at them with her blade until she realized the only thing left to do...was SCREAM]

[ opening her mouth and unleashing perhaps her deadliest attack, Sharon unleahses her SONIC SCREAM at FULL POWER! causing glass in the lighthouse to shatter as well as any ships or boats within a 25 mile radius to experience extreme interference with sonar and radar equipment.]

[ as the air around her ripples from her power and the force of her attack SLAMS into the creatures about to descend upon her, the sconic scream forces Nicolas to pull back from his mental contact with her and the feedback jaunts her already upset son back into his own body. she certainly wouldnt have done that to him consciously but it was getting dire for them ALL now.]

As Nicolas guided Kyle back to his mother, her image showed her as she was attacked far too quickly for them to warn her. Nicolas could feel Kyle's growing agitation as she was cut, then, just as he was trying desperately to lock onto her so as to teleport to her to help, she SCREAMED, pushing him and Kyle away from her mentally. the image of her shattered as Kyle erupted in a child's scream for his mother, falling backwards.

Nicolas caught him and held him quickly, speaking to him as gently as the occasion would allow while he mentally soothed him into a momentary lull.

KYLE. PLEASE. Your Mommy will be fine, I PROMISE. Just stay RIGHT HERE and I will figure this out.

The boy was terrified, and would not yet be ready to try again. He placed him by the Soul Sword and leaped froward, cutting at the apparition of Christopher that held Morgan fast. He thinned the edge of the axe blade to microns and swung, cutting through the arms that held her while he pulled her away. Thinking of an idea, he turned and spoke to Alison.

Alison, with you TK maybe we can...ALISON?!!

Nicolas realized that she had gone outside. Using his power, with great difficulty, he realized where and turned to Karen and Morgan.

Watch the boy and hold on.

Nicolas ran, turning intangible as he went through the walls and down the hall, arriving as James marcus was menacing Alison as she had offerred herself. Nicolas yelled as he reached his left hand INTO the marble, pulling it out and the marble with it as a makeshift protection for that hand.

Alison PLEASE!! Cameron would never wish for you to offer yourself in his stead. He loved you too much. And YOU--

pointing at James Marcus

the guilty here are long dead and gone. Take your gold. Spend it in the afterlife. But this woman is innocent, and you will gain nothing from her death. The ones you seek are on your side. Settle with THEM.

Nicolas slid Alison back as he stepped in to defend her, even from herself.
