Ororo's ghost story, part 3

All hell would break loose in all of thirty seconds as Blaze yelled out to Morgan while Christopher grabbed her.

"Morgan!"

Her sister's own icy voice would filter through the trembling church to warn her of an on-coming piece of furniture. Raising both of her hands to clasp them together as a gigantic fire dome would surround both herself and Haleigh. The blazing heat would instantly melt the pieces of furniture to slag as she turned to look for Morgan while Karen attempted to rescue her.

Alison would bolt from the safety of the conference room with Nicolas hot on her trail.

While more pieces of furniture would be hurled at them, Blaze watched in horror as each group would struggle for their lives.

With Kyle completely left alone, Blaze pushed past the fire dome as her own fire power would begin to ignite across her body in molten-hot flames. She would stand behind Kyle to protect him, her yellow eyes turned towards him to survey his small body for any wounds. Even though the soul sword would repel any demons, Blaze wasn't about to take any chances.

"MORGAN!"

:: Christopher somehow managed to grab Morgan, pulling her back in an attempt to get her outside into the fog. Karen, Nicolas, and Blaze all quickly used their powers in an effort to save Morgan and try to protect the rest of the group from the creatures. Grabbing her friends hand, Ava pulled Morgan to her. ::

"You okay?!"

:: Ava's skin glistened with sweat from the heat of Blaze's fire dome...but somehow the brunette didn't think fire would keep these creatures at bay for long. ::

Delilah nodded slowly as she was asked if she was okay – as if she wasn’t quite sure that she was. She was breathing heavily, still feeling the ghostly hands upon her skin. Karen helped her up and they regrouped with the others.

She resisted the urge to say, “They’re heeerrre.” Because it really wasn’t funny. The Fog had permeated the room now, and it appeared to be in control, objects flying in the air around them and more creatures coming through the walls.

Morgan was grabbed…by her DEAD father! Karen fought for her child, as any mother would do. But even Karen’s magick was of little use. Luckily Ava stepped in and successfully pulled Morgan away.

“We can’t just stay here – we need to make a break for it!” Then after a pause, “Where’s Alison? And Nicolas?”

Ava thanked Haleigh for her help... Blaze stared as thought Haleigh'd grown a tail and Morgan, for once, had no criticism. Haleigh considered telling them the reason she'd done it... but she doubted ANY of them had the mental acuity to understand that the more of them there WERE... the more likely they could all survive... and working TOGETHER was the only thing that could keep their numbers from diminishing.

They were under full-fledged attack now... Morgan's father was here... Sharon was in the middle of her own crisis... Alison wandered off, followed by Nicolas. Objects were FLYING around the room, and Haleigh was SURE they were focused on hitting her and Blaze alone. A coat rack SMASHED itself into Haleigh's back, shattering over her... she stumbled forward a little, then shook it off... a desk was coming for her next, but Haleigh pivoted to face it, threw up her arms and CAUGHT it, then took it and brought it down upon Morgan's father, crushing him. Delilah suggested they make a run for it.

"If we run, they'll simply CHASE us! We might as well make a stand here, we'll have to again eventually! This cathedral is surrounded... we won't make it out there and the fog is likely already IN the rest of the church... we've already STARTED to fortify this room, why give up the advantage??"

inside the church

<< the cold, slimy grip of her father caused Morgan to go into shock! her icy violet eyes wide with disebelief but the pain of her unprotected wrist breaking and being choked brought her back to herself ...as she couldnt help but cry out for her mother.>>

<< Karen fought for her child as any mother would and Morgan tried her best to bust loose but the fear and panic that gripped her made every spell, even the thought of summoning a disc impossible. Finally with the help of Ava and Delilah, they pulled Morgan away from Christopher.>>

<< Haleigh slams a desk down on Christopher, crushing the apparitions physical form as Blaze surrounds them in a fire dome. Morgan, in her mother's arms struggles to draw a decent breath as Ava generates a breeze around her to give her a burst of fresh air.>>

m...mom........

Karen: it's alright honey. you're safe now. we have you.

<< Karen helps to steady Morgan.>>

<< as Ava and Karen helped to calm Morgan and Karen healed her of any injuries she sustained, Delilah suggested they retreat.>>

Delilah said:
“We can’t just stay here – we need to make a break for it!” Then after a pause, “Where’s Alison? And Nicolas?”

but WHERE would we go? and where are the others?

<< looking around...she too noticed that Alison and Nicolas were gone. She looked at Mike.>>

ALISON? NICOLAS!?

Don't even THINK about leaving the firedome, Michael. It's not safe for you...for ANY of us!

Haleigh said:
"If we run, they'll simply CHASE us! We might as well make a stand here, we'll have to again eventually! This cathedral is surrounded... we won't make it out there and the fog is likely already IN the rest of the church... we've already STARTED to fortify this room, why give up the advantage??"

<< Karen continued to hold Morgan who seemed to be breathing easier now.>>

I think Haleigh is right. We have to stay here and stay TOGETHER. I pray that Alison and Nicolas are doing something to help end this nightmare!

But for now...we must do what we can!

Mike, up until this point, still believed that they would win. That they would, together, make it work and protect the town.

But, as all hell broke loose and the strongest women he'd ever known were being savaged, he began to have his doubts. Mike picked off stray hands as they appeared, his aim flawless. The team finally got the situation under a semblance of control. and he checked on the others, one by one. As he did a head count, he noticed that Nicolas and Alison had both left. Karen caught him as he was thinking to follow after them.

Don't even THINK about leaving the firedome, Michael. It's not safe for you...for ANY of us!

Mike paused then halted, realizing that those two together were as capable of without him as with him. He simply looked back at her, then continued to check on the others, going back to Kyle.

Hey buddy. Everything will be just fine. If anyone can make it, it is your Mommy and the people here. I talk to Nicolas about you all the time. You are a fine young man. How about you try to reconnect with Mommy. I KNOW you can do it. Just relax like Nicolas taught you and let's see what happens.

Mike doubted he would be able to reach Sharon without Nic's help, but the attempt would get the boys mind off present events and maybe the boy could let them know how she was. Mike was worried about her after the scene he'd witnessed before.

the last stand

<< the fog was at its strongest now...with more and more physical manifestations of the spirits busting through the floor of the conference room and breaching the walls. inside the firedome, Karen, Blaze, Haleigh, Mike Ava and Delilah stood around Morgan who was getting her bearings. the women and mike all took a cue from Haleigh and Karen and prepared to defend themselves.>>

<< magick, fire, lightning, lasers, high powered artilery, there was a WIDE range of abilities being used by those gathered tonight...but even THESE grand abilities could not prevail against the AGELESS drive and insatiable hunger of VENGEANCE. Kyle, who was visibly shaken by what he saw/felt happen to his mother, was huddled into a corner. Picking off a few stray hands with his weaponry and dodging flying objects, Mike HURRIDLY reached the boy, carrying him to the safety of the firedome and talking to him, calming him and getting him to at least focus on TRYING to reach his mother. >>

<< the fog was closing in around them, and the vengefull spirits of the Elizabeth Dane as well as those from Alycia's yacht who had been overtaken by that curse in the waters of Arklay were now converging upon the group as they fought for their lives.>>

on top of the Arklay Lighthouse

<< Sharon screams...blasting at her would be undead killers as she fights for her life. but at best, they are only paused or slowed by her powerfull attack. she swings with the weapon she pulled out of her shoulder, doing her best to hold them at bay but despite her power...she too is facing the hour of her death.>>

and in the sanctuary of the church

<< Nicolas raced THROUGH walls to find Alison, who was confronting James Marcus' unrest spirt. As Nicolas pleaded with Alison not to throw her life away, he tried to pull her away from James Marcus' approach....>>

in the sanctuary

:: Alison remained stone faced as James Marcus loomed closer, he was much taller than her, even with her 5'11 frame and in high heels. She stood, holding the large, solid pure gold cross up for offering...holding herself in readiness::

Nicolas said:
Alison PLEASE!! Cameron would never wish for you to offer yourself in his stead. He loved you too much. And YOU--

:: Alison snapped her head over to glare at him.::

you FOOL! what are you DOING!? This is MY CHANCE TO FREE MY BROTHER!

Nicolas said:
point at James Marcus the guilty here are long dead and gone. Take your gold. Spend it in the afterlife. But this woman is innocent, and you will gain nothing from her death. The ones you seek are on your side. Settle with THEM.

Nicolas slid Alison back as he stepped in to defend her, even from herself.

:: Alison looked down, Nicolas was once again using his power to MOVE her. THIS was what triggered the agressive rivalry she harbored against Nicolas. the idea that he would use his power on HER! If there was one thing Alison HATED, it was being "controlled" by anyone! ::

LEAVE ME!

:: a rushing chiming sound is heard as she narrows her cobalt blue eyes ala' Prue Halliwell and shatters the "pull" on her as she sends Nicolas FLYING UP and over a set of pews, ACROSS the the sanctuary::

:: she turns back to face James Marcus as he LUNGES for her and the cross.::

the moment of truth

<< the actions we take may be filled with good intentions, but sometimes emotion clouds ones judgement just the same.>>

<< just as Alison hurls Nicolas away, James Marcus LUNGES FORWARD and GRABS holdof the cross. a loud CRASH of thunder rocks the air and the church itself as the cross begins to GLOW WHITE HOT, James Marcus grips it and Alison is transfixed, UNABLE to let go. The look on her face is one of surprise and SHOCK as she seizes with PAIN and PARALYSIS as the energy feedback from James Marcus and the cross encompass all three of them.>>

<< the spirits in the conference room and on top of the light house renew their attacks with such VIGOR forcing the women back...and HITTING some of them before Christopher REAPPEARS from BENEATH Morgan, pulling her DOWN.>>

<< Karen is the first to grab hold of her daughter as Morgan cries out. Ava grabs Morgan's other hand while Delilah , Haleigh and Blaze stand together doing their best to hold off the others. Mike keeps Kyle shielding and uses his ammunition , aiming for heads and hands...>>

<< if Nicolas doesnt recover and get Alison AWAY from the eye of this storm , she WILL be lost.>>

<< this is the last moment...>>

LEAVE ME!

Nicolas went flying as Alison attempted to martyr herself, angry at his interference. He knew that his usage of power to move her would piss her off, seemed strange to him since she was only too happy to use her powers on others.

Still, she was Cameron's sister and, in her own way, very important to Nicolas. The same rivalry she felt seemed more a connection to him. He never understood why she had to lay claim to top TK. It was never that important to HIM. Nevertheless...

He sat up and began to rise when his eyes widened as James marcus grabbed the cross from Alison. Her FACE!! Nicolas did not need to read her mind to register the shock and pain, pain that he shared as power arced across the room, encompassing him as well in its white hot surge. He knew she couldn't last long like this, and as he moved in desperation and anger at the predicament, it happened again.

Nicolas' body darkened, almost shadowy was it coloration now, with glyphs that appeared on parts of his exposed chest and face. His eyes glowed bright red and he stood quickly, roaring as he made his move.

The axe he brought with his flew across the room, slicing through James Marcus wrists. He tore the cross from Alison's grasp with his power and slammed it into the aparition's abdomen.

You want the gold, demon?! Take it!!!

As for the sorceress, she now flew across the room where Nicolas plucked her injured body from the air like a rag doll before rushing THROUGH the walls back towards the room where the others were holed up. He tore the room reinforcements open and tossed Alison inside, sealing it back as he went back to face the ghosts, his mind now clouded by the surge he felt from embracing his own dark side. Kyle and Haleigh would notice the mental agitation he was under due to their connection; Morgan would be close enough to Nicolas to know that something was TRULY wrong with her lover. Even the others would notice in the second or so they saw him that he was different...changed.

Nicolas emerged in the large worship hall, slamming his hands tiogether in a shockwave that blasted some of the weaker spook's back. THis was not a decision normally reached, but Nicolas was not now normal.

JAMES MARCUS!!! The death of my wife and my best friend are on your hands. You have reached out for the rest of us. I am now reaching back.

Nicolas gripped his axe easily in his left hand and held his right up. The marble on the floor rose to encase it in a stone glove a la Hellboy.

:: Everything was chaotic around Ava and unbeknownst to her Nicolas and Alison were about to make it 10 times worse. The church suddenly began to shake and the creatures became more violent. Gasping as Christopher appeared under Morgan, Ava quickly grabbed her friends hand, pulling against Christopher's hold. :;

"HOLD ON!"

:: Shouting over the chaos, Ava and Karen continued to try and fight for Morgan against her dead father. With her hand tightly holding onto the blondes, Ava took her other hand and grabbed the crook of her arm for more support. With clenched teeth, she struggled against the creatures strength. ::

"This.....is....getting....really....OLD....ALREADY!"

:: Cursing under her breath, the brunette held on as best she could while kicking her healed shoe right into Christopher's face repeatidly. ::

"DIE! DIE! DIE!....er...AGAIN! AGAIN! AGAIN!" :p

Blaze watched in horror as most of the group had congregated inside her fire dome as each of them struggled to work together. It seemed successful at first but there were just too many of them and powerful. Even as a collective fighting brigade, the team was no match for them. Especially with Nicolas and Alison missing in action. They could use every willing body available.

Raising her hand, Blaze clenched her teeth raising the temperature of her natural element of fire. While Haleigh's remarkable strength easily snatched a nearby desk and hurled it on top of Christopher. Delilah and Haleigh would debate whether making a run for it or staying to fight.

"Morgan! Are you alright?"

It seemed that question was frequently asked by everyone that night.

I think Haleigh is right. We have to stay here and stay TOGETHER. I pray that Alison and Nicolas are doing something to help end this nightmare!

But for now...we must do what we can!

Nodding, Blaze would attempt a different approach to utilize her fire power as the church would tremble. Each of the apparitions would strengthen in number and power, attacking them with a vigor like no other.

Clapping her hands together, Blaze's eyes would brighten to an amber hue. The floor boards around the group would tremble but not because of the altercation between James, Alison, and Nicolas. Focused on surviving and keeping the demons at bay, chunks of the floor board would explode as molten-hot lava and debris would splatter at their attacks.

Stepping closer to her fire dome, drawing on its power and her own vibrant energy to push BACK the attacks. Some of the wood would puncture through a few ghouls and ghosts in the process. The force and the velocity building a more stable wall around the group while Blaze's flames would ignite around them, adding more additional protection.

Touching the side of her head, Blaze gasped out in shock. She wasn't used to using this kind of power that was draining some of her energy.

Taking a gander at the group she noticed Ava and Karen attempting to fight off Christopher who appeared to be trying to pull Morgan DOWN with him.

"We need to help Ava and Karen!"

Blaze turned towards Haleigh, "Think you can crush him again? I'll distract him. Delilah, help Ava and Karen to grab Morgan."

Quickly, Blaze would step out of the barrier of the fire dome, "Over here!" Hurling a fireball his way to grab Christopher's attention. Hoping to distract him long enough for Haleigh to move in while Delilah was prepared to help Ava.

its over!

<< it was all happening so FAST. Nicolas' own descent into something dark was matched only by the climax of the spirit of vegeance in the church.>>

<< Blaze, Haleigh and Delilah renewed their efforts as Nicolas arrived with a barely conscious Alison, but even WITH his descent...could he possibly prevail against an evil, a GRUDGE that existed before he OR his father? Haleigh breaks away the others, as Nicolas begans to lay waste. She can SEE that his response is so obtuse, even to this situation that he could accidently hurt OTHERS. She must reason with him, pull him back from the brink as she did the night Alycia's apparition menaced him!>>

<< the howling screams of undead spirits could be heard amidst the chaos.>>

<< a panicked Morgan does her best to hold on to her Mother and Ava who are BOTH as determined save her >>

at the light house

<< Sharon does her best to fight...striking out with ferocity befitting a true "bird of prey" but even THAT is not enough.>>

<< all seems to be lost. BUT then...FINALLY as the screams progressed...the thunder crashed once more. the golden cross, cripped by James Marcus flashes a light that puslates and glows...swelling out and everywhere and FINALLY with one final crash, its over!>>

<< its over....the screams in the wind fade, objects cease flying...and everyone is left in the immediate position they were in just seconds ago fighting/defending against the spirits of the undead with Karen and Ava holding on to Morgan who is now merely laying on the stone floor. Blaze & Delilah are standing on either side of them. Haleigh is in front of Nicolas. Mike stands with Kyle behind him and Alison is on her side...struggling to sit up as she coughs.>>

<< James Marcus' own bitter, unholy voice can be heard fading in the winds...but the words are inaudible.>>

at the lighthouse

<< Sharon now lays on the top of the lighthouse...tears streaming down her face as she regulates her breathing....her heart rate slows and she looks to the right and the left, realizing that the creatures intent on slaying her are now GONE!>>

<< SILENCE greets everyone in the church, while Sharon is greeted by the sounds of nature, the wind and the water.>>

<< and soon, they all realize the fog is RECEEDING! pulling back out from everywhere and back out to sea.>>

breathe again

<< cold, slimy hands...every touch...more than she can bare! she feels her strength, her very BREATH leaving her. she feels like she's DROWNING!>>

<< her icy violet eyes betray the TERROR she feels as she reaches out frantically for her mother and ava. her mother grabs hold of her but Morgan can barely hear her mother's words over the sound of her father's gurgling voice. Ava stomps Christopher in the face with her high heel, but it merely prooves an inconvenience as the apparition continues to try to pull morgan THROUGH the floor. powerfull as the sorceress is, ALL of her strength, access to her spells, stepping discs...they are as far from her as the earth is from the moon.>>

<< but Karen and Ava will not give up, never give in!>>

<< just as Nicolas bursts into the room. Morgan's head turns as she is still gasping for breath. Nicolas is on the verge of a "rampage"...but Morgan can hardly care about much more than if she will "drown" or be pulled into a foggy hell by her dead father!>>

<< everything is happening so fast and as Morgan feels herself letting go...of LIFE...giving IN...the thunder crashes, the golden light envelopes them ALL and soon...there is NOTHING!>>

<< she GASPS as she finds herself on level stone floor. Karen still holding on to her as well as Ava.>>

mom....ava....

<< she says...gasping for breath as she can finally BREATHE again.>>

<< Karen, looks around frantically before she hears her daughter's voice.>>

Karen: shhh....just breathe baby....

<< Karen brushes the now WET hair out of Morgan's face as Ava sits her up and again generates a burst of fresh air around her.>>

Karen: << whispering.>> just breathe...

<< Karen looks at Ava, then Blaze.>>

Karen:they...they're gone! what happened!? is it over???

<< only the faintest echo of wind and James Marcus' voice can be heard as Morgan coughs and struggles to regulate her breathing. >>

awakened

:: from the moment Alison had been transfixed by the unholy backlash when James Marcus' demonic form grasped the golden cross, what happened next did not register to the telekinetic precog. That Nicolas had rushed to save her, that he tore her away from the eye of the storm, that he was willing to do whatever it took to stop this nightmare from consuming them all.::

:: she lay on the floor in the conference room, not moving, more than alive...less than dead.::

:: as the flash of light seemed to irradiate everything and baptize the apparitions in the white light of conclusion, in a crash of thunder...it was OVER!::

:: nothing was there, only the HUMANS. the apparitions were gone, the fog was receeding rapidly and only a faint wind and the fading echoes of spirits remained.::

:: Alison slowly sits up...groaning with pain and disorientation::

Hecate and Athena...

:: she says with a trembling voice.::

I'm....alive??

:: she thought she was dead...she HOPED that Cameron would have been released from the curse...but...::

but no...Cameron is not here...he's...still dead.

:: tears began to fall from her colbalt blue eyes.::

the light house

[ Sharon fell back after her last swing hit nothing but AIR. as suddenly as they were upon her, they were now GONE! as she fell down, she screamed with a start , before realizing that ....]

they're GONE!

[ she laughed/exhaled...as tears rolled down her face and she breathed deeply once...and again. the wind blew, caressing her as she looked slowly from one side to the other...nothing but the dark clouds, the wind and the ocean all around her far below. she was ALONE! she had SURVIVED!]

oh my god...

[ she says ...feeling dizzy.]

Kyle....can he be allright too!?

:: The swirling sound of chaos, confusion, all out panic surrounded Ava as she desperately held onto Morgan's hand. Christopher was too strong and her grip was slipping. But just as everything was building into a climax suddenly the creatures disappeared. All was quiet and Morgan was laying on the ground scared but alive. ::

"Morgan..."

:: Lowering herself onto her knees, Ava created a soft breeze around her friend as she helped her sit up. Out of breath due to sheer panic and adrenaline, Ava embraced her best friend and closed her eyes. ::

"Are you okay?"

:: Pulling away to allow Karen access to her daughter, Ava looked around with an obvious questionable look on her face. ::

"What happened...? Where did they go?"

As Nicolas entered the worship hall of the church again, he grabbed the closest monster available, tearing it apart with his hands as he worked his way back to James Marcus. He used his TK and physical strength to devastating fashion, tearing the room apart as he fought with the animated flesh that opposed him. Fueling his anger was the combination of having lost his true love and this virus, of which James Marcus was a symbol, being responsible for keeping him from regaining what he could of his life and threatening what life he had.

But as he got close to the figure holding the golden cross...it was gone!! James Marcus and his gold had disappeared, leaving Nicolas and his anger here, with Haleigh before him.

THAT'S IT?!! Fuckin' GOLD!!! That's all you wanted!??! All those PEOPLE!! MY ALYCIA! Over some GODDAMNED GOLD??!!! Fuck YOU JAMES MARCUS!! Bring your ass BACK!!!

Nicolas ROARED as he exploded in anger, turning from Haleigh and slamming the hammer end of his axe to the ground, using his TK to augment the blow as he broke through the floor and ground underneath. He looked, tears streaming down his face, as if he would tear his way to HELL ITSELF to get to James Marcus, who took from Nicolas the only woman who seemed capable of giving her her body AND mind. He was weary of trying to find what he'd lost in Morgan's (or someone else's) bed or in chasing Haleigh. What he wished was to have Alycia, and he was willing to tear this place apart if it would get James Marcus back to face him, allow Nicolas HIS revenge for HIS loss!! As he rampaged forward, the pews before him blew apart like matchsticks, and even this old stone building seemed to groan under his attack. He would bring it down, and SOON, if somebody didn't do SOMETHING...

arriving at the church

Nicolas! STOP THIS! RIGHT NOW!

[ if there was one thing even an omega telekinetic couldnt handle, it was a SONIC onslaught. Sharon, who had regained her bearings enough, FRANTICLY flew at super sonic speeds from the lighthouse, across the waters of the bay and to the church. she arrived just in time to hear Nicolas' voice and see the church stressing from his outrage.]

[ she came through the opened doors of the sanctuary and now confronted him, not just with her voice but with a hearty SONIC SCREAM to get his attention.]

[ but she could also hear his heart rate, she could hear the breathing, it was not regular. Nicolas was heaving with grief and rage...and Sharon knew why.]

Nicolas.

Something came out of the fog...and tried to destroy us. And as mysteriously as it came...it is now gone. I know what you want. I too understand. I lost my husband, kyle lost his father. But what you're doing now? you may as well BE one of those creatures that attacked me...or our friends!

STOP this before you hurt someone ELSE and we have ANOTHER funeral to go to.

[ she said as she walked toward him, and took his hands into her own, lowering them down slowly.]

They're gone now. We...we're all alive. Kyle is alive because YOU helped keep him safe! DON'T put my son in danger now after all you've done for him...for all of us.

The fog is going away now....

[ pointing to the last traces of it that are receeding outside.]

I came as quickly as i could. Now...let's go to the others. okay?
