<< The look on Carole's face said it all as Nicolas offered his response.>>
<< This young man simply didn't know when to stop!>>
<< She was about respond with a withering and severe response a descision when Dominique stepped in and checked her nephew but good, silencing him.>>
<< Dominique was always one of the more involved parent/parental figures of the student body at Hillcrest. She'd used her clout and draw as a successfull chanteuse to stage several successfull fund raising events for the school's various ongoing activities and mutant outreach programs. She was beautifull, intelligent, accomplished and like Carole, she was a witch! their status as witches and the knowledge of each other was one of those unspoken recognition moments between them that they kept to themselves.>>
<< Carole hardly thought ill of Dominique because of Nicolas' foolishness. How could she. Ultimately...Nicolas was a prankster and brash young man BUT it generally appeared he meant no harm. Carole, however, also had a son...>>
<<FLASH!>>
<< Carole shut her eyes tightly, blinking back tears as her mind once again touched on a trauma that had forever changed everything.>>
<< Carole? More like KAREN. A boy who didnt joke or play. He hurt, brutalized and MURDERED. and WHY? well no one ever quite figured that out, not even SHE, despite 8 years of intense psychotherapy and the best diagnostic/treatment options money could buy. But nobody....not Alycia Barnett...not one person ever thought LESS OF HER despite having a son that turned out to be a BAD SEED.>>
<< Carole stood, listening to Dominique. But when Dominique voiced her objection to Carole's severe response planned for Nicolas, the doctor stood steadfast, folding her arms and shaking her head.>>
I'm sorry, Ms. Deveraux. What you're nephew did is beyond intolerable. The family of the victim is demanding action and if I do not take the appropriate measures, Hillcrest could face a lawsuit. That kind of publicity would be VERY bad for the privacy and anonymity this facility enjoys and for the students that its a haven and home to. Am I supposed to risk the home of these students, some of whom aren't nearly as fortunate to have an active, involved parent/parental figure like you in their lives, JUST to accomodate a young man who constantly demonstrates a lack of regard if not UTTER CONTEMPT for the rules and regulations of this institute that has resulted in DAMAGE time and again to the property that you have personally covered the expense of repair for and NOW has put a young girl in the hospital?
As headmistress, it would be irresponsible and unconscionable of me NOT to address the VALID concerns of the family of the victim of his crass prank, and to NOT take actions to protect the school as a whole. How long before the victim of one of his prank's is physically injured if not worse? How WRONG would I be NOT to stop him before he can even get to that point?
Your nephew behaves as though the sun rises and sets with his every breath. It's time he understood that is not at all the case.

Dominique said:As I've told you before, Nicolas was NOT raised in an environment where violence, disrespect of authority or foolishness are condoned or tolerated.

<< the sound of a girl's pained, life fading screams are heard. the sound of flesh being rend cut and ripped, of bone being scraped and fractured is heard. the bizarre view of a large, sharp kitchen knife rising and falling with rapid pace is seen as it plunges into the body of a young girl who was at first sitting in a chair but has now fallen to the floor.>>
<< Blaze Victor, lies dead after several seconds of painfull, bloody, knife plunging terror at the hands of her BROTHER.>>

Dominique said:Dr. Starr, I must also express my deep apology to you personally once again for my nephew's behavior. I realize your position as headmistress requires you to be available to ALL students and faculty on this campus and to have to devote an excessive amount of time on any one student- especially for BEHAVIORAL problems- it must leave a bad taste in your mouth.
That being said, I still must OBJECT to your having my nephew arrested and charged with stalking and harrassment. As well as flagging his premanent record with notations of a personality disorder. These are things that will follow him indifinitely and in today's post 9/11 world...could negatively impact him in any number of ways.
