Jasmine continued on her search for the others, finally concluding the others were in trouble. Her instincts never failed her in fact they kept her alive. Walking down the spiral staircase she passed a few patrons of the building as the lights flickered and began to dim. Even the pulse pounding bass of Rainbow Room dulled until the entire building abruptly went pitch black. The red glow of Emergency lights lit up the various exists supplying small amounts of light. The music now off, the place was eerie silent. Jasmine gripped the sterling railing to catch her balance from falling.
Outside horrid gasps of fright were heard "WHAT IS IT?!" Jasmine over heard just as the traffic lights went on and off like a light switch. Jasmine's ears easily depicted a Semi - Truck attempting to turn as the ear piercing sound of thunder and what felt like an earthquake rocked the busy city of New York. A roar and screech of breaks was heard before a massive crash was heard as a pile - up of traffic was formed. And at the very last second Jasmine's green eyes went wide as she gasped spotting the Semi - Truck speeding for the Rainbow Room.
"Oh God...."
Was all she said before a massive crash was heard with the truck smashing through the building. Layers of bricks, steel, and other materials were caved in with the truck's front bumper caved inward. Screams and cries of pain were echoed and more panic spread as blood was painted on the flooring of the place. A fire igniting on the truck's engine with the driver killed on impact.
People scrambled on one another for survivor. Several people falling even a few teenagers. Their helpless cries silenced with the ceiling beams collapsing on them.
Sounds were murmured for Jasmine who was violently thrown across the room landing on the dance floor. A gash formed above her right brow, the blood trickling down. Blinking her vision she could smell fire and smoke in the air. The sprinklers seemed jammed because they did not activate. Lifting her chin up to see shadows dancing on the walls as they tried to escape the place. Touching her brow she felt the blood leaking.
"HELP ME!!!" Yelled a woman about Jasmine's age who was pinned in front of the truck's engine. Getting to her feet, Jasmine stumbled before regaining her balance. Her eyes adjusting to the darkness - luckily she was adaptive in the darkness. Her eyes carrying a small silver glow to them.
Walking over, Jasmine felt slightly nauseous to see bodies sprawled out in various positions due to the truck or from being trampled. Coughing the truck's engine was slowly catching fire. Hurrying her pace, Jasmine ran up to the red head, it was Gail Weather's. "Jasmine!" She cried weakly, her body pinned against the truck. Blood seeping from her mouth as Jasmine looked around for something to pry the reporter free.
"Hold on!" She called firmly hoping to reassure her. "I need some help in here!" She yelled but people were so frantic it was useless. "Damn it!" She cursed before sprinting for the bar. Grabbing the fire extinguisher she moved to spray the fire - successfully putting it out. Tossing to the ground, glass lined the ground with blood and broken tables and chairs.
"Gail - concentrate on my voice." Lighting a match to lock eyes with the reporter, Jasmine nodded, "I will get you out of here, I promise! I'm not leaving this place without you."
