Hellfire -- The White Wing
Heidi had narrowly avoided her Queen’s wrath, when delivering the news of Carolina. Haleigh hadn’t received that well, which at least filled in the blank of why Cameron had wanted Heidi to wait to go home. He must have known he would need to be near enough to do damage control. Heidi gave answers only to what she was asked, to the best of her ability, and offered up nothing more, deciding that it would be best to let her Queen talk to the others.
Cameron arrived at the party, and tried to talk to Haleigh, which went about as well as a dumpster fire. Haleigh was as cold and unyielding as Heidi had ever seen her, and no matter how Cameron pleaded, she refused him. She was being a bit of a crazy pregnant lady in Heidi’s opinion, but she had the sense not to voice it. Gia, meanwhile, took leave of her own senses, and started to interject herself into the conversation. Heidi looked down, and raised her hand to her forehead.
That girl is so daft....
Cameron had to tell Gia to mind her own business, and then go back to the argument with Haleigh, which was turning bitter quickly. Haleigh still gave no ground, and it was clear she was miserable too, because no sooner did she turn from the fight than she left the party, with the Red King no less. Heidi wanted to go to Cameron, but before she could decide what she was going to say, that meddlesome White Bishop had rushed over to him, no doubt to kiss his ass. Heidi sighed heavily and let Jack pull her towards a wine fountain. They were watching as the fighting pits began to resume their action. Heidi glanced at Neptune and her gaze got stuck there.
“You’re dressed like a gladiator....”
The sexiest one I think I’ve ever seen...
“Were you intending to join in the fighting?”
She asked, somewhat casually. She watched a smirk tug at the corners of his usually serious mouth. His dark gaze shifted from the fighting pits to seize hers.
Jack: Would you like that, Heidi?
She smiled coquettishly, her hand reaching for his bicep, but before she could respond, something else stole his attention. It was his Queen. Heidi hid her jealousy, even as she bitterly wondered why Ashley couldn’t just be happy with her little pet Savage. But her perspective had to change when they neared Ash, AJ and some blonde man Heidi thought she’d seen before.
Ashley kept her usual lechery under control, and instead focused on business, which in this case was a promotion for this blonde fellow. Suddenly Heidi realized she was honored to be present for this, the naming of the new Red Rook, and she forgot her frustration with the Red Queen over disrupting her moment with Jack.
