The Black King and Queen’s Suite
That she didn’t seem to be able to get her words out made him smile. She, who never seemed to have her feathers ruffled, getting tongue tied over his revelation that he had never loved anyone else? Priceless.
She kissed him, and told him she would have killed any other girl he had loved before her, which made him chuckle and her smile. She said she loved him, then true to form srarted blaming herself for not deciding she loved him ages ago. He shushed her, telling her she waited until she was ready.
Ava: "But you shouldn't have had to.."
“I would wait forever for you, babe. And I didn’t want to be with you until you were ready to be loved.”
Ava: "Good....You are the one constant in my life that has never hurt me, only loved me. And I hope I've been the same to you. And if I haven't? I will make it up to you, ever single day from here on out."
He shook his head.
“You are the only person I care about in this world. There is nothing to make up.”
They laid together, just enjoying the way it felt to be together. She was the girl in his dreams, and he had no idea what he’d done to deserve her.
Ava: "You made me feel like a Queen before I ever was one."
He picked up his head to look at her, brushing a strand of hair from her face.
“You have always been a queen.”
Ava: "I need to get ready for this meeting..."
He groaned as Ava pushed herself up onto her elbows.
Ava: "I just don't want to fight with her anymore. I'm so tired of being angry...but everything is still so raw."
“It’s in your power not to fight with her, but she needs to understand the position she put you in. And that your assistance is not something she should take lightly.”
Ava: "Could you brief the rest of the court about what's happened while i'm there. I want to make sure we're all on the same page going into the Red Party."
“Of course. I’ll make sure everyone knows what’s going on, and what our position is.”
He didn’t want their time together to end, but there was work to be done, by both of them.
