A night at the rotunda

Aerie- Ava's villa

:: moments after Pandora spoke, Alison BLINKED into view inside of Ava's villa, catching the frosty glare from Ava. Alison looks rather amused.::

oh please..

:: she waves her hand dismissively.::

spare me your daggers. i just did you and everyone ELSE on this island a favor. i took out the TRASH...NAMELY Nicolas King.

:: taking a moment to laugh softly. the hemlock running through her system full tilt now.::

and as for Haleigh....as much hell as she's given Karen she deserves to handle HER OWN fire right now. Just as Karen needs to work out her misguided fears about Haleigh. It's no different than earlier when the mudfight happened. If i didnt interfere then or now...then neither should YOU.

As he stayed on his knees, he noticed a familiar flight pattern as Bupol perched upon a rock, looking at him. He could not believe what would come next, as a goldem beam pierces the stormy clouds and Athena emerges, in all her golden glory. She was magnificent but stern as well, as she apparently had no plans to listen to human suffering tonight.

Nicolas stayed kneeling as she asked what business he had with her. He swallowed hard, hoping that his next words would not provoke yet MORE conflict.

Athena. Thank you for your presence. I had no idea you would even COME. I am having great difficulty in terms of dealing with our new situation. It seems that we are in great emotional upheaval and I was yelling out of frustration, hoping to reach out to anyone that may yet give me counsel in a most dark hour. I meant no disrespect to you, Athena, I simply do not know where else to turn.

Nicolas slowly rose, looking at her solemnly.

:: Alison arrived and immediately starting drilling Ava about interfering in Haleigh and Karen's fight. Sighing out, Ava nodded and rolled her eyes. ::

"I know, I know. I left didn't I?"

:: Quite frankly, Ava didn't feel like getting into it with a tipsy Alison, so she just simply agreed with her and let the subject go. BUT, she did find Alison's fight with Nicolas interesting. :) ::

"And everyone always thought I was just being a spiteful bitch toward him. [smirking] So, what happened?"

Aerie

:: Athena stood there, with only a few spiraled locks of her golden blonde hair flowing in the wind ::

:: Did Nicolas think he was fooling her with this....FACADE? she looked at him for a long moment, with nothing but silence::

do you know how many warriors before you have attempted to hide the truth from me?

:: she held out her hand, and Bupol quickly came to her, resting on her forearm as she took a moment to gently stroke its head and nuzzle it. even she had a soft spot it seemed::

i am not without eyes....nor am i unaware of what goes on here. but what amazes me is that you havent realized the most obvious thing. YOU made an error in judgement.

:: and it wasnt what Nicolas might have THOUGHT she was referring to either.::

Ava's villa

:: Alison walked over to a potted plant and examined one of the leaves briefly as Ava rolled her eyes.::

yes...you did leave.

Karen and Haleigh are going to be fine.

:: as Ava asked about Nicolas, Alison smirked.::

Nicolas flipped the BITCH SWITCH. That's what happened. He obviously doesnt know who he's dealing with...in his attempts to make nice with Haleigh he forgot to ask HER how deadly i can be when I'm crossed.

:: just as Nicolas had broadcast the exchange to Morgan, Alison manifested it in her own way with a scrying pool::

Oracle said:
:: As Nicolas made his way toward his home away from the Rotunda, his journey was brutally interrupted as the ground AND space around him EXPLODED with such ubridled violence, it could only be one person, Harbinger and her molecular acceleration attack. still, the attack was not CENTERED on his body...which spoke for the level of control she had over the power. it was enough to more than stagger him.::

Alison:we're not finished YET!

:: Alison blinks into view...with a devil may care look on her face..her tone betrays her tipsy state.::

do you REALLY think you can talk to me like that and just get away with it? I've KILLED men for LESS. you're LUCKY that Morgan spoke FIRST...and while we're on the subject of morgan...let's get one thing straight...captain crass. You may be used to women rolling over at your every whim and move, but you'll find that WE in the six are not NEARLY as easy "pieces of ass" as you'd like to think. that's been your very problem from the BEGINNING. We're not impressed by you...we dont even LIKE you.

:: pushing him back as she walks forward... his crude remark MORE than angered her, it caused her to revert to her OLD persona. one that could be down right treatcherous, even for team mates.::

i have tried in ernest to tolerate your ridiculous, over the top, almost CHARICATURE like gallant presentation...but after your remarks this evening...i realized something. You're not a good man, youre not even a MAN....

:: she leans in::

you're a self centered PIG and Ava was RIGHT...youre ALSO AN ASSHOLE.

I[ve been there for Morgan when her LIFE was ripped apart...LONG before you showed up and quite honestly, I dont think Morgan needs a "man" like you. Oh sure, i could tell her the things that i see you doing in the future...i could tell her all sorts of things about you , but i WONT because if her happiness is a cruel illusion, she'll find out on her OWN and the satisfaction of watching her BOIL YOU UNTIL YOUR FLESH FALLS OFF will be more than enough pay back for your disrespect to me tonight. once again when YOU'RE GONE, her FRIENDS...her FAMILY will be there to pick up the pieces.

so why dont you....take your arrogant ass home....and stay away from the Rotunda....for a good LONG WHILE. and as for ME? don't worry about MY "no man having ass"...I do not place my WORTH in any man i could attract and i dont need the validation or the APPROVAL of some pumped up MEAT HEAD who thinks he's the answer to all of Morgan's problems. I'm THROUGH with you..as a friend...as ANYTHING.

You're halo is SLIPPING Nicolas. First Ava, now me...whose next? probably...MORE THAN LIKELY...DELILAH...and soon... once she sees you for the pig that you are, Karen will come to despise you...and then you'll be RIGHT BACK WHERE YOU WERE when you arrived...the muscle bound pariah who is about as wanted as a reassurgance of the bubonic plague.

:: covering her mouth with a feigned expression of surprise...Alison laughs mockingly and BLINKS out.::

:: and the image/sounds fade as the scrying pool shimmers out of view.::

He wants to play hard? I'll WEAR HIM OUT! I'm through with him. and the next time I see him...if he says one thing...I'm teleblinking his balls from his scrotum and into the mouth of the nearest volcano!

:: not since the EARLIEST days of the Six had Alison reveled in such brutal thought processees. it was moments like THIS that would remind Perspehone why Darkchilde had said Alison would have made an EXCELLENT addition to the Masters of Evil during the Six's brief visit to the MoE Timeline several months back.::

I imagine an untold number have, goddess. But I mean no subterfuge.

Athena admonished him for an error in judgement. He was not so self-centered as to think there WAS none, but he was at aloss at to what that error exactly was.

Enlighten me Athena. It is obvious that I do not have the answers. I have tried to be a good person, loyal to my friends and empathic to others. But I have reached an impasse, where I am trying to weigh the difference between empathy and simply rolling over at every insult. But still I am here, and the situation is what it is. What error have I made, and is there a remedy for such an error?

:: Laughing out loud that had to be one of the single most entertaining things Ava has seen since she arrived on Aerie. ::

"Brava, Alison. I've never been fond of Nicolas...his constant flirting and gift giving remind me of Hades. But atleast with Hades he had a 'bad boy' image that made him more appealing to me....Nicolas is just apple pie sweet. I can't stand apple pie sweet. But everyone always thought I was just being a bitch; atleast NOW someone else can see him for the boot licking pup he really is."

:: It was never a secret that Ava wasn't fond of Nicolas. In fact, she was the only one in the six until now who openly disliked him. True, she worked well along side with him during battles, and of course wouldn't want him to die or get hurt because it would be heartbreaking for Morgan...but really, Ava only tolerated him thus far. ::

"I think that deserved another bottle of Hemlock." :D

ever since the war on olympus, the one in which Hecate helped us defeat and drive out Cronos and the titans, there were always divisions among the group. you can be an ally, RESPECT someone, without going so far as to be their FRIEND and if you MUST "befriend" this person...have sense enough NOT to hold it up inthe face of those who are NOT.

Demeter, and myself were friends with Hecate. She had the admiration of Zeus (for less than noble reasons) and the respect of his brothers but because of Hera, she was NEVER fully "accepted" as a true Olympian by Zeus.

Your MISTAKE was in trying to be so many things to so many people. Just as you would like priority status with Morgan, you and your human companion Mike should have been more discreet and mindfull of your interactions with Haleigh. She IS....to put it as you humans would... a LIGHTNING ROD for struggle and strife and if you are to fullfill your destiny with Morgan...then just as you expect HER to consider YOU as much as she does ALISON, then YOU should have considered her AND her mother as much.

there is no harm in boundaries and not everyone can be friendly to everyone ALL of the time. to have friends...you must show yourself to BE a friend and Haleigh mistakes her actions as a SUBSTITUE for her poor interpersonal skills. DON'T think you can be a bridge between her and those whom she must work to repair her relationship with. You can't...and if you keep on this path, you will LOSE the standing you worked so hard to gain within the six.

and as for Alison? you brought that on yourself. I saw the whole exchange and her initial words were HARDLY as crude as your retort, as a patron diety of women in many times and places...I will offer you NO sympathy or validation on the retaliation you received from her...and I will instead tell you that I found your choice of words to be not only appalling, but REPUGNANT.

you HAD the trust and respect of the harbinger, and now you've made an enemy of her and that will be your cross to bear. as it stands right now you are not someone I would pick to send into battle...for you HAVE grown sloppy since your time on this island.

get YOUR priorities straight, CLEAR your sights and THEN you can look to Morgan to do the same. UNDERSTAND that you cant pull everyone together. and dont be so VULGAR with your ..."friendships"

I will take my leave of you and this island.

I hope for your sake that you ALL find a better way to handle yourself on this island.

:: and with that...the golden ray of light envelopes Athena and her beloved Bupol as she disappears from view, leaving Nicolas to stand out the stormy night air::

Pandora was shocked by the display she had witnessed from the scrying pool. She had known Alison for only a few short months and had never seen that side of her. Persephone had obviously enjoyed it but Pandora felt bad for Nicolas. He was just as confused as everyone else on this island and was trying to adapt.

"Be nice you two. Nicolas' comments WERE extremely rude, i'll give you that, but he's going through a difficult adjustment as well. He may be a bit brash, but obviously there IS something good in him if Morgan is willing to let her guard down and date him."

Pandora purposly left out the part about Morgan being angry with him at the moment...just so she could get her point across. ;) Regardless, Ava and Alison both had similar personalities, and if they both decided to team up against Nicolas....it would be disastrous for him. :D

As Ava mentioned giving an already inhebriated Alison more Hemlock, Pandora quickly put her hand on her friends arm.

"Why don't I take a bottle home and save it for another day?" :p

Nicolas swallowed hard as he received a lecture from the goddess. There was wisdom there, to be certain, but he was past weary of everything coming from a woman's perspective. For a moment he wondered if he should have called on APOLLO but he reminded himself that she didn't have to say anything. She was trying to help, and the best thing he could do was internalize her words and enrich himself with them. As far as the part about Alison, that lesson would be for a much later day, because right now he saw a drunk who shot off her mouth and now nobody liked what he said in return. TOUGH. When you start with someone, you don't get to pick how you get answered, just as when she answered him. He nodded solemnly as the goddess left, teleporting to his villa.

He began to work out feverishly, using his telekinesis against his physical strength in order to strengthen BOTH. As he worked out, he concentrated on the latest science papers he had researched. The topic:Tachyons...

Ava's villa

:: Alison laughed as well. it WAS rather funny to watch the play back. the fact that she was inebriated made it even more amusing.::

Joan Collins, LOOK OUT! who needs tongue fighting when you can do BALL BUSTING.

:: Pandora offered a FAIR and CLEAR observation that normally, probably wouldve have come from Alison herself but now Nicolas was her enemy and she would cut him NO slack. still, she didnt interrupt Pandora, nor did she dismiss her words. she heard them.::

:: As Ava presented another bottle of Hemlock, Alison could have had stars in her eyes if she were an anime character...but Pandora WISELY intervened and suggested saving it for a later time. Alison looked knowingly at her friend and laughed softly.::

hmmm yes, perhaps your right. besides...don't want ruin the taste of such a timeless drink.

:: she was now standing near Ava, as the two women looked at Pandora.::

*sigh* well, we should be going....I dont see the need to stay here. Morgan and Karen will be fine...and with the storm coming, I dont want Pandora and I to be delayed in returning to Minerva's.

lightning strikes

<< around the island, the winds begin to rise as the storm finally comes upon it from the sea. Nicolas, inside his home works to vent his frustration in a constructive way...using his mind and body. Morgan, steadies herself on a pillar in the hall of the rotunda, as Karen and Haleigh continue to struggle through their issues. her headache is ever present....her mind weary from SO MANY THINGS to address herself but not sure where to begin. She's TIRED of being so....SOFT.>>

<< Ava and Alison, found common ground...in despising Nicolas while Pandora offered a much needed objective opnion and as Athena left the island, all form of order would soon leave as well as a MONSTROUS crash of thunder commanded the attention of EVERYONE where ever they were at that moment, followed by lightning as furious as that which Ororo commands. the thunderous explosion is so harsh that the island seems to tremble a bit and at THAT MOMENT as Morgan opens her violet eyes in a startled shock....she feels as if she's going to PASS OUT from pain and mental exhaustion.>>

<< several stepping discs open in a random pattern around the island, ONE of which snaps open right beneath Ava and Alison....cathing them both as unaware as the blast of thunder and causing them to fall in and be TELEPORTED AWAY in the twinkling of an eye. Pandora sees them disappear , leaving her alone in the villa now...holding the bottle of hemlock she'd just taken from Ava.>>

<< Morgan gives out from the stress, the ANGER-- trying to CONTAIN it and the PAIN and passes out , falling to the floor.>>

<< the storm has come...and the night has truly begun.>>

A crash of thunder that seems to shake the bedrock of the island itself jolts Nicolas and he stands bolt upright. he runs outside as he starts to do a scan of the entire island itself. In his scan he noticed spatial anomalies all over consistent with...

Morgan?!

Why would she pepper the island with disks? He reached out in spite of himself and found her falling to the floor. She was unconscious! Telekinetically grabbing a few items Nicolas teleported back to the rotunda, where he gingerly picked up a fallen Morgan, and placed her on the nearest sofa. He hoped to revive her with smelling salts first, then he would do what he could for her and leave her be.

Nicolas tore open the packet of salts and waved them under her nose...

Mike followed Morgan to the scene of the main event where he hoped they would finally get their breakthrough. There was one HELL of a storm brewing, and one crash of thunder made him think that he had come through all of this to be a lightning statistic, at least until he remembered Nicolas telling him that if he got killed by lightning, he would never hear the thunder. As he stood by, he noticed Morgan grab her head and fall. Before he could even get there, Nicolas teleported in and carried her back inside. He started to follow, but he stayed in hopes that he would not need to get between Karen and Haleigh...

It almost seemed to happen in slow motion....Persephone and Alison standing next to each other, saying their goodbyes before she and Alison departed. Suddenly a loud crash of thunder shook the entire island causing Pandora to gasp in and drop the bottle of hemlock. Almost as if it were clock work, the moment the bottle hit the floor, Persephone and Alison vanished in the blink of an eye.

"Persephone! Alison!"

With wide eyes, Pandora instinctively grabbed the small key to her box that hung around her neck [she had never taken it off since she was created by the Gods] not knowing if this was a result of a foe or an accident. Regardless, she was vulnerable and needed to leave immediately. Quickly Pandora crossed the room to Ava's coffee table where the small green potion bottle sat; one of Alison's transportation potions she had used to get to Aerie. Throwing the bottle down in front of her, Pandora disappeared in a cloud of white smoke and soon appeared back at the rotunda's dining hall.

"HELP! Someone!"

Pandora's panicked voice echoed throughout the rotunda as she continued to hold her key tightly, worried about what had happened to Alison and Persephone.

Delilah sat and ate in silence. It wasn’t that she disliked Pandora, but that she didn’t really know her. She wasn’t about to fake being excited that she was here and kiss her ass…instead she decided to let Ava enjoy the time with her friend.

It gave her time to think about what was going on beneath the surface. She didn’t like Morgan equating her self worth with being famous. She didn’t like it one bit. Morgan loved being a celebrity – that had always been true – but this, this wasn’t the Morgan she knew. Morgan was more than a pretty face. Where was this coming from? Was it just the shock of their new situation or more than that?

Haleigh, despite her recent altercations with other members of the Six, was somehow adjusting best to the circumstances. She was still the same old Haleigh, rough and ready for a fight. Even though she wanted to go where there was more action, Delilah would expect no less from her.

And then the two trains who had been headed towards each other collided, and Haleigh and Karen went at it. They all knew it had been coming, so Delilah was in no way surprised. And as much as she wanted to back Haleigh up in this particular instance, she knew – as Alison iterated to Ava as well – that just like Haleigh and Morgan, Haleigh and Karen needed to get everything out in the open as well. But she could only hope that the results would be as good this time, and Delilah feared that Karen and Haleigh would never be able to stand each other.

But even knowing it was necessary, Delilah didn’t particularly WANT to watch this play out. She stuck her hand down and beckoned Tink to come towards her for a petting. As she scratched the cat’s ears, her face was luckily hidden while Nicolas went on a tirade. What a prick… Nicolas had been trying to get into Morgan’s pants ever since they met – he had some nerve. Wasn’t being with Morgan enough for him? Would he only be happy with her barefoot in his kitchen cooking and cleaning with no other life but him? Morgan deserved better than that – not just someone who put her on a pedestal. She for the first time began to doubt that Nicolas really cared about Morgan and not just the idea of Morgan. As as for his treatment of Alison…she knew it tormented the Seer that she could see events but was not able to do anything to stop them. It was a low blow for Nicolas to throw that in her face as if it was her choice.

Everyone was gone from the Rotunda now, except her. Delilah threw her fork down onto her plate, in disgust over the whole turn of events. One thing was certain though: Morgan needed her now more than ever. So she rose, got herself a beer, then sat back down to wait for the sorceress to return, unaware for a moment of what is happening around the island. All that changed, however, when Pandora suddenly appeared before her in a state of panic. Delilah stood immediately and rushed to her side.

"Pandora, calm down. Tell me what's happened? Is it Persephone? Is she hurt?" Knowing that the two had left together, it seemed the obvious choice.

Turning around, Pandora hadn't even seen Delilah in the dining hall when she first arrived. She immediately came over asking what was wrong.

"They're gone! They disappeared!"

It was obvious Delilah was trying to make sense as to who 'they' were...and what she meant by 'disappeared'. Taking in a breath, Pandora stopped for a moment to collect her thoughts. Still holding the key that hung around her neck [out of nervous habit], she used her other hand to emphasize what she was trying to say.

"Persephone and Alison....we were all standing in Persephone's living room talking--saying our goodbyes before Alison and I left Aerie. Suddenly they were gone...they just disappeared in the blink of an eye!"

Nicolas heard Pandora 's call. The smelling salts weren't working on Morgan, but she seemed stable so far.

I am here Pandora!! Morgan has collapsed!

Knowing how disorienting it can be for someone to be telekinetically pulled, Nicolas walked to the fromnt of the rotunda, meeting the pair. Morgan was laying on a couch in TK tow beside him. He walked up to Pandora as she clutched her key.

I tried smelling salts. No dice. I am monitoring things for now. Pandora, you said Alison and Ava simply disappeared? Then I fear its most likely Morgan. I recognized several disks manifesting randomly around the island right before Morgan fell and you called out for someone.

Nicolas looked at them both.

They could be anywhere. I will search the island, but I am afraid for where they MAY be.

Nicolas began to telekinetically search the island for the pair...

Delilah in trying to calm Pandora down, looked for a logical explanation. She looked Pandora directly in the eye.

"Were Alison and Ava arguing? Was it Alison who blinked them somewhere? Did you see anyone else in the area?"

Alison certainly had the power to disappear at will, but it would be unusual for her to leave Pandora behind...but with Alison's hemlock-induced agitation, it was no telling what her state of mind would be or how far she might take her words with Ava.

Delilah grabbed Pandora's hand and began to lead her out of the Rotunda.

"Come on, we've got to find Morgan. If this wasn't Alison, we will all need to stick together for safety-sake."

But before they could get anywhere, Nicolas arrived with Morgan in tow.

"She probably just doesn't want to talk to you..." Delilah said under her breath with a sidelong glance at Nicolas. But there were more important things at hand.

"Why would Morgan send them to Limbo? Are we under attack? Nicolas, do you sense any intruders on the island?"

the situation

<< the stress, the bitterness, the ANGER , it all became too much for Morgan and rather than LOSE control and risk harming anyone in her path, she turned INWARD, the pain caused her to BLACKOUT and her basic power, her telepathic rapport with the stepping discs was the first thing to react to her shutting down. and now the island was going to become a GAUNTLET as stepping discs begin appearing and disappearing at random. one false step at the wrong moment and anyone of the remaining members could fall through and end up ANYWHERE in time and space....not to mention LIMBO.>>

<< Alison and Ava were gone, disappeared and Pandora was now vulnerable to any number of threats while Karen and Haleigh would HAVE to strike a truce if NOTHING ELSE in what was fast becoming an emergency situation.>>

<< it was moments like this that would further test Mike. Alycia had been there before, now it was his turn. Could he handle moments like this? Not knowing what was to come? >>

<< Delilah was smoldering with agitation toward Nicolas. the fact was...that Nicolas WAS in part responsible for Morgan's current state and even ATHENA had lectured him on his sloppy handling of tonight's situations but Delilah was far better at knowing "time and place" to say /do things than her childhhood friend. She was much better at self restraint and so she most likely would NOT slam Nicolas unless it was deserved. right now, the team HAD to stick together and LITERALLY watch their step...as stepping discs b egan opening randomly everywhere at different angles and orientations.>>

<< not only were the randomly opening stepping discs a problem but the storm showed no signs of losing strength either. with rains and the wind, it was wise for everyone to move into the deeper interior of the Rotunda. >>

<< they had to figure out something and with Karen their last source of magick left, that was their only SLIM chance of perhaps gaining entrance to Limbo.>>
