Haleigh took her suit jacket off and slung it over the back of a bar stool. She pulled out of hr shoulder harness, setting the gun on the counter. She unbuttoned her shirt, revealing the light pink tank top underneath but left it on, stiring her food and then reaching for a plate and utensils. She shoveled food onto her plate and moved to the bar, pouring herself some red wine and sitting down to eat. She took a sip of wine and decided to check on Spellbinder. While upstairs, she'd placed a very small and discreet listening device on the underside of the arm of the sofa when no one was looking. there was listening equipment in her study.... but she was getting pretty efficient in her manipulative powers... she didnt need to go in there to listen. she turned the equipment on with her mind and set the volume. She put a finger to her ear as she took another bite, chewing slowly and quietly. She listened to vacuuming... and then voices, which got clearer and she realized it was Blaze and Spell. They were talking about her and Cameron.
Wow... that woman surely has a fixation on us. She thought. Morgan wasted no time, bad-mouthing them right away... she was always trying to turn Blaze against them.... and Blaze was always trying to defend them. Haleigh felt Morgan was overstepping boundaries when she suggested Blaze stay away from her... Who the fuck was she, her mother? what, did she think Haleigh was a bad influence? Had she even MET Blaze yet? Haleigh nearly spit out her wine... The evil that hovers around ME?! BITCH Victoria is one to talk.... she's the one fighting the evil that is writhing INSIDE her. At least I'm up front about it. Haleigh grimaces... Morgan had an awfully SKEWERED view of things... and her memory seemed a little FUZZY.
If it HAD been for Alison... Cameron and I'd both be dead... she just couldn't hold us down. Nor could those Ant Lions or Imagiomg or Dr. Chandler... Alison deserves any FUCKING abuse Cameron gives her.... and more... hell, he's too SOFT on her... if she were MY sister.... i'd still fuckin kill her.... i just might make it quick. GRATEFUL? WHAT, pray tell, have we to be Grateful for?? Grateful for Morgan abandoning our group in the beginning, or for Alison setting us up and leaving us for dead?
Haleigh fed Echo a strip of sauteed steak. He'd been sitting there silently, with big ole puppy dog eyes, watching her fork go from her plate to her mouth each time, begging the whole time... and now Delta saw she was getting generous and came over as well. She gave a scrap to the Blue Dobe to be fair, still 'eavesdropping'. Haleigh couldnt deny WHY she went into the Citadle... she hadn't tried to cover it up either. She was a heartless self-involved bitch who would only do something if it benefitted HER... and she saw no need to disillusion anyone about it. But how could she care about a person she'd never met? How could she even care about Morgan, who she'd met that very morning? And why the fuck WOULD she care about the people in a city that didn't give a fuck if she lived or died? Haleigh was many years beyond trying to save the world... she was many a pain and sacrifice beyond caring about the innocent. That didn't mean she and Blaze hadn't connected since then...
Haleigh finished her food and separated the steak stirfry into two separate piles and set the plate down for the dogs. She wiped her mouth with a silk napkin embrodiered in the corner with "H.D." and finished her glass of wine. when the dogs were done she lifted the plate from the floor and put the dishes in the sink. She went into her study, taking her shoulder harness and weapon with her. So... she was being watched carefully? in case she what? Was Morgan afraid she was making enemies that could take her unawares if they weren't watched? Oh Miss Victoria.... if ONLY you knew...
Haleigh pulled on a book and suddenly the entire bookcase sprung to life, sliding sideways and revealing a hidden room stocked ceiling to floor and wall to wall with guns on racks. Handguns and AK carbines on one wall, shotguns and ammo on another. Various accessories such as harnesses and holsters on hooks of the third wall, shelves beneath them with silencers and laser sights, scopes and mounting lights. The final wall, the one with the opening to enter the room, had more shelves, these had more ammunition, grenades, c4 and wiring, detonators, et cetera. Haleigh had enough here to storm the nearest military base with. She hung up her shoulder holster and took the gun out, ejecting the mag and clearing the chamber, manually reinserting the unused round into the magazine. She put the handgun in its spot on the wall, and placed the clip on the shelf by the ammo, it was down three rounds.
She turned the light out and almost closed the bookcase back over it when Cameron's voice stopped her. Wonderful. Just fucking peachy fucking keen. This better be DAMN good Stud. DONT you dare ask me to be civil with her again... if she pulls another stunt like that... well... SOMEONE better advise her not to. She sighed and went back into the room, turning the light back on and getting two H&K USP handguns. she loaded a magazine in each and pulled the slide back to put a bullet in each chamber. She selected a black leather shoulder harness and holstered both guns, sliding it over her open button down. She doesn't bother to get her suit jacket to conceal the weapons, just leaves the room and lets it close behind her, and then walks out of her study and through her living room, passing into the foyer and telling her dogs not to wait up lovingly. She walks out into the hallway, closing the door behind her. She looks up at the surviellance camera that is watching her. She flips it a bird and gets into the elevator. It dings twices and once more as it opens, and she steps out, looking like the girl next door except that she's armed and dangerous. she gives Rachel a suspicious look, eyeballing her and then locking eyes with Cameron. She didn't care if her first impression on this girl was cold and abrasive, she doesnt make any attempt to obscure the handguns from the girl's view. The girl seemed upset... and Haleigh didn't give a damn. It was the truth... and Haleigh was only curious as to WHY Cameron was bringing some new girlfriend to an impromptu Six meeting...
"She's far too young for you Cameron. PLEASE don't tell me this blonde girl is your startling discovery."
