There doesn't seem to be a thread here for this...

Anyway, I'm sure you've heard of/read the book 'Twilight' by Stephanie Meyer but more recentyly it's been in the process of becoming a film. Starring Robert Pattinson (he played Cedric Diggory in HP4) and Kristin Stewart as Edward and Bella.

I'm really looking forward to this movie coming out, especially since it's only two weesk after the sixt Harry Potter film. Plus, the casting choices for Edward and Bella look amazing, not exaclty how I had imagined them but than again, these things never are. I've seen a few clips, plus the teaser trialer that was released and everything looks amazing so far. I really can't wait for the movie to come out!

I'm through about 350 pages of the book so far, and it's boring as hell. Does it pick up toward the end? I just got the two sequels in the mail, and I'm really not looking forward to reading them.

It does seem like a kiddy romance-vampires story. There's very little action, not too much vampire mythology, and far too much corny dialogue and monologue.

I see that Orson Scott Card was really impressed with the series, but so far, I'm just not feeling it. So let me know, does it get better?

It really picks up once Jacob comes in. He's really the only reason I've stuck around as a fan of the novels, because I'm agreeing with you on the cheesy dialogue!

What I'm mostly afraid of in the movie is how much of thw chessy-ness is going to pass over...and that it's not just me noticing it. But yeah, in new Moon once you get through the teen agnst in the first few chapters Bella sort of grows up and Jacob saves the cheesy day! :p

I actually just finished a film where I worked with some of the people who did Twilight. Apparently it's godawful lol

I'm on the second book, New Moon, right now, and it still hasn't gotten much better. The whole hunt scene at the end of the first book was pretty well done, but after that, everything just went downhill. I really hate Jacob's character for some reason.
