While Morgan, Mike, and Karen took care of the others, Blaze remained slumbered but it was anyone's guess whether her dreams would be pleasant or not. Either way Malice's words would be buried into her subconscious mind, where her memories were stored. Unlike Black Widow's words, Malice saw to it that the brunette would remember them. Blaze wouldn't see the last of the White Queen, not by a long shot.
A few doctors would surround her checking her vitals, heart monitor, blood pressure, and temperature. Blaze's body temperature would return to normal as she was covered over. The elegant dress she wore was now a flimsy garment that had been torn, burned, and ripped in her battle.
One of the nurses would run a cold cloth across her forehead, catching trickles of perspiration. "Her vitals seem normal." Blaze's eyelids would move back and forth as she dreamed. Her head softly falling into the pillow as doctor's would move away from her.
But Blaze's dream wouldn't be a far cry of serenity. They would be filled with dreams of her old teammates, especially Black Widow. It seemed that after the loss of Zach, Haleigh turned inward including pushing Blaze away, someone she thought of as a friend. Their friendship had been flushed down the toilet. Yet, even now as she was on the mainstream world Blaze couldn't help but remember the hurt and pain of being pushed away. Being left out in the cold with only Sharon as her friend. It was a blessing in a disguise as Blaze had bonded with Sharon after her fallout with Haleigh.
Her dreams would haunt her as her heart monitor would beep loudly. Even her breathing seemed labored as her nightmare would hound her. Being subjected to her earlier confrontation with Haleigh provoked old feelings that had been thought dormant. Feelings of dread, pain, vindictive, anger all washed through her. Emotions and memories that Malice had picked up on and utilized that against the alternate fire elemental. It was the worst feeling in the world to feel betrayed by someone she trusted and loved like a second-sister.
Blaze's temperature rose as her skin grew hot the further the dream continued. Her head twisted into the pillow with a pained expression. A few incoherent words would slip off her lips as it was happening all over again. The door being slammed in her face but somehow in the subtext of her mind Black Widow's words would be input into her mind.
Firebird: "Who can love a MACHINE?"
Black Widow: "Evidently NOT you."
It was the icing on the cake as Blaze would bolt upright in her hospital bed as her chest heaved. Doctor's rushed over towards her as she shoved them away. "Get AWAY from me!" She roared, yellow-beady eyes outlined her green eyes. Tossing the bed sheets off her svelte form to stand up on bare feet. Gazing down at her shredded dress. Her eyes would slither on Karen and Mike sedating Nicolas while Morgan healed Haleigh. Narrowing her eyes on the hybrid, Blaze looked away with an unusual frigidness that was uncharacteristic of her. Shaking her head in disapproval as she touched her forehead.
Blaze was oddly aloof and withdrawn from the others, only acknowledging Karen and Morgan with a nod. Disappearing into the nearby bathroom she closed the bathroom door behind her to lean against it with a heavy sigh. Still shaken up by recent events, Blaze's form trembled as she moved over to the counter. Turning on the faucet, staring at her reflection as she would wait for the water to cool. Gripping the side of the vanity counter. Like Persephone, Blaze held a grudge against Haleigh for failing to inform Morgan and endangering the whole team. It was no wonder her team was tortured and then killed.
Cupping cold water to splash her face to cool her humid body down. Blaze's eyes seemed void of compassion, warmth, or love. Instead they seemed bleak, stoic, and cold. Straightening up, she wiped her face on the nearby towel. Blaze straightened up as she turned to exit the bathroom to return to the medical lab.
Walking right over to Haleigh's bed quickly, Blaze's palm struck her hard across the face with a slap. Tears filled in her eyes. "This is your fault, Haleigh Davidoff! I hope that you know that." Blaze's eyes locked with the blondes as her voice was strong and firm.
