THE BLAQUE KAT-familiars and companions.

Ikaris

Guest
In the corner of the Midnight Plaza there is a small unassuming shop. The words Blaque Kat are etched upon the wooden sign that hangs above the door. As you enter, you are immediately surrounded by various animals both Mythic and Mundane.

Ikaris tends to the needs of the various creatures but turns to greet you. Curled around his shoulders and watching you warily is a small dragon. If you are here you must be looking for a pet, a familiar, a companion. Someone to fight by your side in battle. Well you have come to the right place.

Each of the pets at the Blaque Kat have special abilities that can be helpful to their owners in combat. Whether it be super speed, to shooting fire balls, these pets are special, and require care.

Pets cannot be taken away in battle but you must watch out for them, if your pet dies in a thread it cannot return. Also, if you mistreat your pet it can run away and you will lose them forever so take care of them. Anyone found to be mistreating their companions will answer to Ikaris himself.

Some of the pets on sale in the shop:

Hellhounds-born of living fire, these dog like creatures grow to the size of small ponies. Once bonded to a person the flames that surround the creatures will be cool to their masters touch.

Rocs-these giant birds imprint quickly upon their masters and use their wings to blow winds at the enemy. Due to their large size, the are more than capable of carrying their owner into battle and their strength is enough to snatch an elephant from the ground.

Dragons-Dragons come in one of four colors, and their color denotes their special abilities.
Red: Able to breathe streams of fire or shoot fireballs(stream of fire is owners level in yards, fireballs equal to owners level)
Gold: Able to breathe lightning bolts or shoot ball lightning(bolt of lightning is owners level in yards, orbs of ball lightning equal to owners level).
Blue:Able to breathe freezing blasts of ice that encase a target or breathe a blizzard of snow and freezing rain(ice blast qual to owners level in yards, blizzard blinds enemy equal to owners level).
Silver:The rarest of dragons, these prized beauties are able to use the abilities of any of the other colors:fire, ice and lightning but only one at a time.

Gryphons-These proud creatures are truly masters of the skies. Their high intellegence and resistance to magicks(magick only does half damage) as well as their great strength make them highly valued.

Salamanders: Born of flame these creatures create magical fires to burn their enemies into dust. Once a Salamander has ignited a substance, it cannot be extinguished by any means except the chill of the void between dimensions.

Nagas: These mystic serpents from the heart of India are small enough that they are often worn as bracelets and necklaces, until they are angered that is. When angered or ordered to attack, they quickly grow to a legnth of 15 feet and generate 6 additional heads, each containing a potent venom.

Redcaps: These viscious dark elves love nothing better than bloodshed and mayhem. Their razor sharp teeth are capable of tearing through almost anything.

If you do not see what you are looking for, simply ask. Special orders are always welcome.

--Desire entered the small shop quietly, not really wanting to attract attention. She circled the room, her eyes scanning the many different animals. She finally arrived in front of Ikaris, and she smiled. Her eyes rested on the small dragon around his shoulders and those crimson eyes showed of hers showed she was impressed. Seeing nothing she really wanted, she began to speak.--

"Ikaris, hello. All the animals you have here a very impressive, but nothing of what I am really looking for. Would you happen to have any white tiger cubs? I have always loved them, thinking they are the most beautiful animals on earth."

--The Dark Faerie eyed him hopefully as she awaited his response.--

Ikaris sees Desire enter the shop and gives her a few moments to look around before greeting her.

"Of course I have access to Tiger Cubs, my dear but I need to know if you are wanting mundane tigers or magickal ones. The magical ones have a special camoflauge magick to them that allows them to blend in nearly to invisibility despite their white color. "

Ikaris strokes the chin of his dragon as he waits for Desire to decide on the type of tiger that she wants.

*A small tear drop piece of ice appeared on the floor towards the door, as it quietly grew in size into a giant coccoon, sparkling inside the shop. A bolt of lighting emerged through the top of the structure, shattering it to pieces and leaving Amarisy in its place. Holding her staff, she waited for Ikaris to finish with his current client before approaching him.*

"Good to see you again Ikaris. How much does a Red Dragon go for these days?"

--Hearing what Ikaris said, she thought for a moment. Finally making her decision, Desire smiled.--

"Would you by any chance have white tiger cubs with the power of telepathy and with, also the camoflauge?"

--The Dark Faerie smiled, awaiting his answer.--

Ikaris smiles at Desire's request.

"All the familiars that are sold here are telepathically enhanced. The bond between demon and familiar is what grants the creatures their higher degree of intellegence. You will find that you and the cub will be able to communicate easily though I have to warn you that when all is said and done, the creature is still an animal and not going to be up to having a conversation with you. You will be able to issue directions to the cat telepathically and it will be able to sense your presence anywhere. I can also include this studded leather collar that enables the familiar to shimmer to your side should you summon it. Normally I would be charging 12000 gil for the cub alone, but for my first customer, the total package goes for 8900 gil."

--Desire's small smile widened to a grin and she shook her head.--

"You are too kind, Ikaris. I'll take a female cub. And the price is only too kind. I'm sure the cub will be happy with me and I with her."

--Smiling, the Dark Faerie handed Ikaris the gil, awaiting her cub.--

Ikaris takes the gil and puts it away. Taking the dragon from his shoulders, he hands it to Desire to hold while he heads towards the back of the shop.

"Here, hold Embyr for me while I get your companion. Don't worry, she usually is very friendly and doesn't bite alot."

Disappearing into the back rooms, Ikaris returns shortly holding a Siberian Tiger cub in his arms. The cub is yawning as if it is just waking up from a long nap. Setting the cub down on the counter, Ikaris reaches for a collar from the wall. Fastening it securely around the cubs neck, he reaches for Embyr to take her back from Desire.

"There you go, your Siberian Cub as requested. I hope the two of you have a long and happy relationship."

::In a burst of flame, Phoenix appears in the store. She approaches the counter, getting straight down to business.::

"Ikaris...Are your dragons capable of flight and if they are are they large enough to carry a person or even two?"

Ikaris looks up as Phoenix enters the shoppe, admiring the firebird effect that heralds her arrival. He hadn't had much interaction with the new member of the coven and looked forward to getting to know her better.

He casts a glance at Embyr, the silver dragon that he usually wears on his shoulder. The dragon lifts its head up from the counter where it has lain resting and turns an appraising eye on Phoenix, stifles a yawn and leaps up into the air where it hovers above her head, its wings beating slowly, fanning the air. Snorting, Embyr lands on Ikaris shoulder blowing smoke rings at Phoenix.

Ikaris laughs at the little primadonna's display and turns back to Phoenix.

"I that display answers the question about flight. Come with me outside and I can show you what else the dragons are capable of."

Leading the way out the back of the shoppe where large rooms containing habitats for the animals he sells are located, Ikaris slows to scratch the head of one of the Nagas as they pass through.
"I dont believe in caging the animals, its unneccessary if you take the proper precautions and train the beasties correctly from the beginning. Each type of creature has its own habitat within the store or in the back here that provide them with the space they need as well as protection and food."

Opening the back door, Ikaris steps out into a large courtyardand gestures for Phoenix to follow him. Several of the larger animals look up at their approach, the inquisitive looks on their faces showing they are looking for treats. When no treats are forthcoming, they return to what they had been doing before. Ikaris whistles sharply three times and almost immediately a large shape passes over head, momentarily blocking the sun. The bus sized red dragon lands gracefully in the middle of the courtyard, stirring up dust with the beating of its wings. It's serpentine head twists and coils about to look at Ikaris and Phoenix.

Ikaris reaches out to scratch the beast's head, just behind the eye ridge where it is difficult for dragons to reach, causing the beast to purr with contentedness.

Turning back to Phoenix: "You were asking about the strength of the dragons? Each of them is capable of size changing from the size of Embyr here to at least the size of Pyre. Embyr being a silver and a queen at that becomes even larger than Pyre and he is capable of carrying two people on his back without a problem. Three if they are not excessively heavy or large. While not at fast as Rocs, they still can reach speeds of 150 miles an hour in their large form. Now I do have to let you know that I don't sell dragon pups or the adults. I only sell Dragon eggs as the creatures imprint upon the first person who feeds them after they hatch. I do have a complete selection of eggs to choose from that are ready to hatch if you are interested. Asking price for dragon eggs is normally 50000 gil but I think that if you are interested, I can part with one for 20000 gil, which is a bargain considering their abilities, intellegence level, and the fact that they can never be turned against you no matter how powerful your opponent."

::phoenix smirks at Embyr's little display.::

"Sassy little thing..."

::She then follows Ikaris out the back where he shows her the other dragons. She was impressed with the Pyre's size and his strength and pleased that the dragons possessed both the qualities she was looking for.::

"I'm *very* interested, especially with the price you're offering. I think I should like to have a silver dragon.

"Now, after its hatched, how long will it take the dragon to reach adult size and capabilities?"

Ikaris nods in agreement with Phoenix, thinking that a Silver might prove interesting for her to own.

"Once it hatches, it is going to be growing at a fantastic rate. Dragons eat their own body weight in raw meat each day until they reach their full size usually in about 3 months. They aren't able to size change for the first month of their existance since they are experiencing their first real growth spurt. Yours will be about the size of a pony in roughly two days and will remain that size for the first month. You will notice its abilities emerging almost from hatching, small flames, snowfall, sparks of electricity. I wouldn't advise using the beastie in battle for at least a week since its is technically a newborn.

::A blinding light filters into the shop and then it is engulfed by a sudden darkness. Out of the darkness steps Drag. Waiting for Ikaris, he thinks over his order and when Ikaris does return, Drag asks a question about hellhounds::

"Ah, Ikaris, just the person I was looking for. Is there any possible way to make a Hellhound harness another element besides fire? Such as Darkness and Light? The two when brought together should prove to be very powerful since they are opposites and it takes incredible power to keep them together. If that would be too expensive for me, I will settle for a normal Hellhound"

::phoenix nods in approval.::

"Sounds great. I'll take one. How long before it hatches?"

::phoenix hands over the requested amount of gil as she awaits his answer.::

*She walks into the shop, noticing Drag and nodding her head towards him, awaiting Ikaris to return to the counter with his customer. In the meantime, she looks about the room, surveying the animals.*

"Ikaris, would you have any animals bound to the powers of earth in your keep? Say a wolf perhaps, or something of that sort?"

Taking the gil from Phoenix, Ikaris heads to one of the outbuildings. He returns moments later carrying an egg the size of a football. He hands the delicate cargo to Phoenix with care. The egg sparkles in the light, casting off silver flashes.

"Actually dear, the eggs are kept under a stasis spell at the verge of hatching."

The dragon's egg begins to rock in Phoenix's hand and a tiny silver snout cracks the shell as the creature begins to emerge. Ikaris quickly conjures a table containing a tray of fresh stips of meat in front of Phoenix so that she will be the first one to feed the dragon and have it imprint upon her. The newborn cries as it struggles from the egg, finally giving up on its planned exit and simply expands its wings shattering the remaining shell. It looks around at everything, its gemlike faceted eyes taking in everything. Its forked tongue flicks out into the air smelling the food like a snake would.

"Remember, you need to feed it immediately, hatching is hungry business."

::phoenix laughed at the little dragon's exit. She picks up the largest stip of meat and holds it in her hand, extending it out to the little silver reptile. He ate the meat and then perched himself on her shoulder wrapping his tail around her neck, cooing.::

"This is perfect, Ikaris. Thank you, muchly."

::And with that, Phoenix disappeared in a bird-shaped inferno with her dragon.::

OOC: Can you deduct the gil or do I need to donate the appropriate amount?

Ikaris greets his new customer with a friendly nod as he finishes up with Phoenix. Devoting his full attention to what Drag is saying. He shakes his head in negation even as he answers.

"No, I'm sorry but Hellhounds are limited to fire hence the name. To blend such opposing forces and to enable them to work correctly would take at the very least, human level intellegence and these are animals unfortunately, brighter than the ones that the humans are used to but still animals. If you are interested in a Hellhound, I can show you either young adults or the newest litter that was born. Either way the current price for the beasts is 11000 gil. Still interested?"

"Ahh...yes such power would indeed require a lot of intelligence...but yes I am still interested. What would be the difference between a young adult and a newborn hellhound though? Or are they both the same?"

::Waiting for Ikaris to respond, Drag just lets his mind wander about the name of his hellhound and what it might be able to do::
