Anyone here seen this movie? I just watched it last night and wow was it fabulous. Of COURSE my favorite character was Michelle Pfieffer's evil, powerfull witch, Lamia.

She's cold, icy and aloof, like a queen...but she also exhibits the more stereotypical witch behaviors such as cackling and shrieking at times.

I never read the novel from which this film was adapted but The movie itself reminded me of a more action packed fairy tale...there were elements similar to the Princess Bride and the Never ending story.

and in a nice reversal from most fairy tale endings

The would be "hero" of the story is nearly destroyed by Lamia but his princess, realizing her true love, ends up saving HIM.

it was a very nice movie. Neil Gaiman has a real talent for catching the feel of old fairy tales and myths in his works. I kind of got a kick at the ending of the movie, I'm a sucker for a romantic happy ever after.

it really felt like a complete viewing experience. it's been a long time since could say i actually ENJOYED a movie as of late, but this one would qualify.

DeNiro was Great! This was a lovely movie and yes SB, it brought me back to the princess bride and Never ending story as well.

This was a unique movie that should have gotten best movie of the year. There was nothing else out there like it. Each of the characters added something fresh to the table.

I loved Robert's character though, especially when he was dancing around with that dress LMAO!

Michelle's character rocked all together. I was amused at the consequence of the magic / spells she used. She's get wrinkles and her breasts sagged. :hehe2:
