Karen revealed

<< one of the women enshrouded in shadow, turned in her seat, from her control console, to look at her partners in crime.>>

<< the recessed blue lighting revealed her to be none other than this timeline's Dr. Karen Victoria...though she had ANOTHER code name here...SHADOW WEAVER.>>

<< the woman looked as beautifull and as elegant as ever, but her sapphire blue eyes there was an evil glint that only added to the trademark disdainfull glare she was known for. her flying suit had a more "sexy" edge to it...with the bodice revealing more of her cleavage and a high split up the side of the skirt. >>

there's no sign of them anywhere. not even my magick can detect Guardian. Either they've escaped from this dimension completely or they were obliterated by the fall out of the final battle between Blackout and Guardian. what about you two...any look?

<< she addressed her query to Enchantrah, the Red Queen and Malice, the White Queen. Shadow Weaver herself was the Black Queen and together, they made up The Sisterhood, the elite, commanding trio behind MysTech in this timeline.>>

and where IS Blackout anyway. the recon mission shouldnt have taken THIS long.

Stranger in her own body

:: MALICE turned in her chair as the light revealed her face as well.::

I've not been able to track them either. Where ever they've gone...it's clear they are no longer in the city or even in the country. Lucky for them.

:: the White queen looked as elegant and sexy as ever in her trademark white ensemble. but she wasnt as vocal here...at least now. something was different. she'd been more RESERVED for a few months, almost like she'd "REAWAKENED" from a dream in another time another REALITY and found herself HERE.::

:: there was more to it than just a feeling, BUT with her omega level psi powers, she was able to quickly adapt and assume the role she was expected to play...as the leader of the Sisterhood. The more she went along, the more she learned. but what this meant for HER and those she would soon encounter would be revealed later on.::

:: Shadow Weaver commented on Black Out, at which point Malice scoffed.::

She never did take direction well. without your spells and my telepathy...she'd already be completely taken over by the VIRUS that she stupidly allowed herself to be infected with by that rabid animal, Haleigh.

I TOLD her not to wast time toying with them.

:: Karen commented that the woman shouldve been back by now.::

She'll be here. her mind stands out like a beacon in this rampant darkness around the city. She's had no more luck doing recon than we have with my scans or your magick. our prey has vanished....and while we may have yearned to crack their accursed bones...this frees us to move on to more important matters. MAINLY taking down Washington from the inside OUT.

Enchantra sat quietly observing the monitors closely....nothing. Of course there was nothing! Leave it to her pathetic niece to SCREW UP the simplest of missions. A mentally retard baby could produce better results than ALEXIS. Rolling her dark blue eyes Helena ran her hands down the front of her red corset top and crossed her legs. Wearing matching red pants [think Jean Grey/Phoenix from X-Men 3] all the woman of The Sisterhood seemed to style themselves with their appointed 'colors'.

and where IS Blackout anyway. the recon mission shouldnt have taken THIS long.

"Probably off riding a poll at a strip club for dollar tips."

She responded in a deadpan tone....although she WAS half serious with her statement. ;) Malice of course gave the appropriate answer indicating that she would be showing up soon. Quite frankly Helena could care LESS if Alexis lived or died. Hell, she was thinking of giving Haleigh a prize for her efforts in infecting her treacherous niece with the TO virus....perhaps a new face...Her current one looks like something out of a cheap 70's porno. Eh...she would have to think about it. Either way, Helena rested back in her chair, flipping her styled blonde hair behind her shoulder. Looking up at the now flickering lights, this could only mean one thing...BLACKOUT was here..

:: The lights within the citidale began to flicker and short out as Alexis' appeared before The Sisterhood. Dressed in a black catsuit [think Aeon Flux] the once blonde beauty looked far worse for the ware. Her sleek black bob covered the bite marks on her upper neck that Haleigh had given her...but the TO virus could visibly be seen effecting the metahuman. Her normally flawless ivory skin was a sickly shade of grey with black and blue veins subtly seen throughout her flesh. Her eyes were completely blackened...whether it was an effect of the TO virus or from her transformation into Blackout was yet to be determined. Looking at the woman who were OBVIOUSLY annoyed with her, Alexis scoffed. ::

"I made a mistake, so freakin' SUE me."

:: Alexis was obviously talking about getting bitten by Haleigh. ::

"I don't comment on your [all the woman] Michael Jackson plastic surgery mishaps now do I? So refrain from the 'I told you so's'."

:: Sitting down at the table with the woman, Blackout's hair moved away from her neck revealing the nasty bite. The skin was even darker in color around the wound. It was nasty...but oddly enough Alexis felt STRONGER than she had before the wound. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise. ::

"What's left of the six is gone. I don't know if they're dead or hiding in Limbo."

the Citadle

:: Malice folded her arms and fixed her silver eyes on the insolent Blackout as she came in and proceeded to play tit for tat as always.::

just take your seat and zip your lips, you arrogant pup.

You're only ALIVE now because of myself and Shadow Weaver....and because I realize that you are still more valuable ALIVE than dead.

:: Malice seemed distracted even as she was talking, she felt like she was...a stranger in her own body. but WHY? that question was more pressing to her than anything at the moment but she couldnt let it show too much.::

So you've found nothing. well neither have we. We can assume then, that there's no one left to stand in our way to proceed with our plan. But before we do that...I want to pay a visit to Illustra. There's no better way than to spit on the memory of our foes than to destroy their home. if they've abandonned it, we might as well make sure they CAN'T come back.

:: looking at Enchantrah::

assemble your WILDpack and prepare them to move in on the Clandestine inc soldiers still guarding the building. I want them destroyed by the numbers. we'll prepare to move out shortly.

:: and with that, Malice abruptly departed the control room , leaving the others to do what they will in their free time for now.::

Sitting forward Helena glared at her niece as she smugly made snide insults before sitting down and telling them absolutely NOTHING of use.

"You're useless, do you know that?! You managed to do what exactly, Alexis? Get yourself INFECTED with the TO virus? Then LOOSE the people that you were supposed to confirm DEAD? And you have the nerve to show up here spitting your venomous grade school insults at US?! I've wanted to kill you the day your slithered your way into my family....and by the end of this mission, I will have your HEAD as a trophy. Mark MY words."

Pushing herself up from her seat, Helena lifted her chin every so slightly giving her trademark look of 'i'm better than you so screw off'. With a flick of her hand she flipped her blonde hair behind her shoulder as she turned and headed for the door; two WILDpack guards stood at attention.

"Gather your men. We have work to do."

And with that, Helena and the two WILDpack men left the room.

:: Alexis rolled her eyes as Auntie Helena went into Mommy Dearest mode. She had heard all this before...since the moment she became apart of the Quartermaine family. At this point it was like listening to the teacher from Charlie Brown...womp womp womp womp womp. Giving her a 'cute' toothy grin as Helena finished threatening her life, Alexis obviously didn't give a rats ass WHAT her aunt said. ::

"Looking forward to it. [watching Helena leave] And don't let the door hit your wrinkly ass on the way out."

:: Standing from her seat, it was only her and Shadow Weaver left....hmm, what a pair. Morgan's mother and the woman who betrayed Morgan's team. It was ironic actually. ::

"So Kar, do you have a potion or spell to get this TO virus out of me? Or are my days of insults and death threats numbered?"

:: Alexis' mortality didn't concern her much. Hell, the only thing that pissed her off was the fact that HALEIGH was the one who did this to her. If she could change anything she would bring that gun slinging saloon whore back to life so she could kill her herself. Unlikely....but a girl can dream. ;) ::

the Citadle.

<< Karen slowly uncrossed her legs, [easy to see where Morgan got them :D] as she stood up.>>

<< as Helena exited, after another stining tirade against her neice, the demon sorceress kept silent. she RARELY interferred in that dynamic. Interesting enough, while Helena thought of Alexis as an eternal failure and Diana saw her as a pawn, KAREN perhaps was the least hostile toward her...her recent infection of the T.O. Virus had come as a shock to them all, but it saddened Karen secretly. In this timeline, the doctor had been evil for a long time. it started when she MURDERED Christopher after discovering his affair with Malice and then HELENA! a VICIOUS catfight ensued between Karen and Helena, with MALICE being the only one who could seperate them long enough to try to bring sanity back...reminding them that they could do so much more TOGETHER than going AGAINST each other.>>

<< Karen's relationship with her daughter in this timeline was frosty and the struggle between The Six and The Sisterhood (along with Mystech) was far more PERSONAL than it was ab out "protecting innocents". but when Morgan died...Karen grieved...deeply, though in private. So now...she SORT of saw Alexis as a "daughter" in role. She tried to admonish the girl when she could, knowing that Malice or Helena might dispatch her at any moment. She used her magick to keep the virus in check as much as poassile while Malice nullified all sense of pain in her body with her psi powers. THEY did more for her than her own AUNT...but it didnt go much further than that, for the Sisterhood- while VERY powerfull as a unit, STILL suffered form MUCH infighting...mainly between Karen and Helena. Karen and Diana had an "understanding" since Diana's psi powers would not effect Karen and Diana's diamond form made her impervious to MOST of Karen's magick effects. >>

<< and so, like any other "group" dynamic, this one was filled with dysfunction. >>

<< Karen looked upon Alexis for a moment as the young woman addressed her in such a familiar tone.>>

No. you know there's no cure for the Virus. Morgan could not check it in Blaze or Haleigh with her magick. The BEST that i can do without access to the darkhold is to SLOW its progress and rejuvinate your natural defenses with my magick while Malice continues to nullify the pain that you SHOULD be experiencing. when we get to Illustra, I'll FINALLY have access to my daughter's book of shadows. adding its power to my own.

<< she spoke in a cold tone as she folded her arms.>>

it was stupid of you to get so close to Haleigh. you know she prefers acting like an ANIMAL more than a civilized human being. It was her massive incompetence that cause MORGAN'S DEATH...and if ANYONE deserved to burn her body AND soul...it's ME.

<< and with that, Karen turns.>>

Be ready to leave at the appointed time. Let's not WASTE time listening to Helena fullfill her need to try to one up herself with her dime store insults.

<< she said with an irritated tone as she disappeared to her own private quarters.>>

:: Unlike Malice and Enchantra, Shadow Weaver was actually more tolerante of Blackout...and frankly she didn't know why. Although she would use it to her advantage. ::

No. you know there's no cure for the Virus. Morgan could not check it in Blaze or Haleigh with her magick.

:: Karen stated what Alexis already knew. ::

"Hey, it was worth a shot to ask. I was actually hoping you and Morgan knew how to get rid of it but hated Haleigh and Blaze too much to actually do it...fruitless dreams, I know. Regardles...if my days are numbered, I want to go out with a BANG and take as many people out with me as I can."

:: Alexis smirked. If that happened to include her aunt, brownie points for her! Karen went on to say that her move to provoke Haleigh was stupid and that the hybrid was an animal. Alexis knew this, BUT, she was actually secretly GLAD that Haleigh infected her because her powers tripled in strength! It felt like energy from the entire East Coast was pumping through her veins. The fact that she didn't even care that she would ultimately DIE because of it showed how warped and psychotic Alexis had become. ::

:: Karen turned to leave and instructed her to be ready when needed. Alexis was born ready....and with that, Karen left and Alexis disappeared in an explosion of energy leaving the citadle. ::

Haleigh seemed visibly relieved as Nicolas agreed with her and proceeded to give his reasons. It was nice, for once, to be straightforward about their feelings.... everyone else [Haleigh included] was in the habit of hiding their thoughts and points of view and only saying what they needed to say to get by.... but as much as Haleigh could SUSPECT Nic felt that way... it was reassuring to hear him confirm it. He went on to tell her that he loved her.... she gave a soft smile, but felt suddenly awkward... a little TOO straightforward? Most likely not... but Haleigh was not used to saying it so freely and she was even less familiar with hearing it [with the exception of Zach and occaisionally Cameron or Ava].

"[awkwardly] I... uh.... yeah, I care about you too, man."

It was heartfelt, but stumbled through, and she looked relieved when the elevator dinged and the doors opened. Haleigh lifted her firearm, leading the way into the corridor. There were birds nesting... some fluttered away, others weren't bothered by their presence.

"Birds.... Sharon?"

She suggested, as she used 'x-ray' vision to try and determine if they should bust in guns blazing, or try a more gentle approach..... she scanned the rooms as they passed and finally focused on the door at the end of the hall...

Nicolas grinned widely as Haleigh stammered through a response. She almost ran out of the elevator as it finally reached the floor. But at least the air was clear between THEM. That was a start. As for the others, time would tell. Nicolas followed Haleigh down the hall, also noting the birds. If it WAS Sharon, what state would she be in? He tried to scan the floor as well, looking for any movement or something beyond to focus on. But it appeared that they would just have to SEE. So he flanked to the other side of the door as Haleigh approached. He whispered...

Shall YOU do the honors? Or shall I?

into the satellite office

<< the two mutants made their way cautiously down the hall toward the double doors. a few birds pecked at Nicolas when he stepped too close to them.>>

<< at the doors, Nicolas' telepathy was encountering interference, courtesy of a white noise generator and Haleigh's scan only detected that an object of roughly dimensions was in the room but no movement yet. they'd have to open the door and go inside and so after a few moments, Haleigh opened the doors and they were greeted by blinding white lights. >>

<< and then....>>

satellite office...striking out

<< the human form WAS that of a woman. 5'11 , 135 lbs, and possesed of extreme internal and cosmetic augmentation. it was the Silver Swan. she was as beautifull and terrifying as she was in mainstream, but decidedly less vocal as she RUSHED Haleigh, spinning her around and hurling her THROUGH the desk, before turning her attention to Nicolas. a closed fist back hand from her left hand across his face, followed by an immediately right hand cross across his face. the woman could lift/press 50 tons...making her as strong as Malice and she wore the same ADAMANTIUM armour bodice with boots that she wore in mainstream. >>

<< she wasnt talking, but her elevated heart rate and wide eyed expression indicated that she was acting like someone DEFENDING themselves and their territory. they'd found her hiding place and she wasnt ABOUT to be captured OR taken.>>

<< if Nicolas and Haleigh didnt do something soon, Sharon would put a serious hurting on them.>>

Haleigh was experiencing difficulty trying to get a clear 'look' beyond the door.... Nicolas was encountering white noise interference, and so they decided to approach with caution... Nic asked who should open the door, and Haleigh left a two handed 'aiming' stance to reach out with one hand and gently push the door opened. She mentally activated a noise feed to go along with the video that Mike and Delilah had already been watching.

"I will...."

The door creaked as it slowly opened, Haleigh and then Nicolas walked into the room as it did. It was bright in here, but Haleigh's enhanced eyes adjusted so quickly that it didn't adversely affect her. Haleigh spotted Sharon immediately and let her handgun lower, so as not to startle the woman, who turned to see them. Haleigh made eye contact and was about to speak when Sharon up and BUMRUSHED her, picking her up and SLAMMING her into the desk, which collapsed like a house of cards beneath the hybrid. Haleigh was momentarily winded and luckily Sharon moved on to Nicolas, giving Haleigh a chance to figure out what had HIT her. She put her gun away and rolled over, climbing to her feet, raising her hands out in front of her, trying to coax Sharon down.

"Whoa, Sharon..... SHARON! It's alright, it's US, Haleigh, and Nicolas! We're not here to HURT you, it's okay!"

As they entered, Nicolas' eyes adjusted to the light and he saw and sensed...Sharon, but not before she threw Haleigh and gave him a one-two that would make Ali himself proud. Nicolas was flung through the wall into the next room, slowly rising as he spit out his own blood, and massaged his nearly dislocated jaw. He located the white noise box with his mind and disabled it as he spoke to the Silver Swan.

SHARON!! We are here to help you!!! Listen to me, we mean you no harm.

Nicolas entered back into the hole he created, hands empty and outstretched, hoping to try to reach her. He did not want to have to fight her...but he stayed on alert for her attacks.

:: Sharon turned one way , then the other. she kept looking between them, ready to lash out at either one but strangely..they held back? they claimed to mean her no harm.::

:: she slowly backed toward the double doors. clearly she was preparing to escape and that prooved that she wasnt attacking them out of malice or hatred.::

:: still, she didnt talk...but after a few moments...::

a trick...

....friends gone....no place is safe...alycia promised me ...but then left me behind....

:: sharon seemed VERY uncertain and afraid. similar to the way she was when she first returned in mainstream. Nicolas and Haleigh had found ONE person, a potential ally...but they still needed more information if they were going to help HER and she could be of help to THEM.::

Malice...out there.....

:: MALICE!::

have to go...have to escape!

Delilah watched the monitor carefully. Haleigh switched on the audio and she could see down the hallway to Alycia’s office. Haleigh opened the double doors, and the camera lenses flared with the light that was coming out of the room. As things cleared, Haleigh was HIT by something – no someone. As the person turned to go after Nicolas, she got a good view of its – her – face. Sharon! She gave Nicolas a left right combination and that was when Delilah jumped up.

Spreading her fingers she opened a wormhole to the 99th floor, she ran inside, then turned back to Mike.

“Come on, bus is leaving…”

She continued on and exited right in front of the double doors. Sharon was clearly agitated, afraid. She gave off a soothing soft light as she spoke calmly, almost as if to a child.

“Sharon! Sharon, it’s me Delilah! You’re okay, you’re safe, I’m here.”

Alternate Sharon

<< The Silver Swan spun around to see Delilah and raised her fist to slam it down on the mutant's head...but the light! that soft, warm, calming light and the soft voice...it reached Sharon's emotional center. her silver eyes were not so wide...her heart rate began to slow as she began to think MAYBE...MAYBE it was allright. MAYBE they werent out to hurt her or capture her!>>

<< things were different in this timeline and Sharon had returned MUCH sooner here than she had in mainstream but without her friends her FAMILY, many of whom were now dead or missing...there was no way for her to get th help she needed. the circumstances of her return were different too. but again, the mainstreams had little background information and finding Sharon was both a blessing AND difficulty. could she be trusted to help them? could they keep her calm for the duration of her stay? and worse...what would happen to her when they had to move on? It was clear that SHE was one of the aspects of this timeline they could directly impact for the better. but first they had to get more information.>>

<< and so, as Delilah calmed the Silver Swan, Haleigh and Nicolas recovered her initial attacks and were able to come close. scans of Sharon indicated that she was NOT suffering from the toxic poison that coursed through mainstream Sharon which caused HER to be psychotic and violent upon her initial return. THIS meant , at least, that Alternate Sharon was not suffering from danger of system wide failure. whoever brought her back knew what they were doing and took the time to get it RIGHT...which was good. Her powers were the same but her sonic scream was much more deadly in this timeline, which was one reason why she didnt speak much.>>

<< after a few tense moments, the Six led a reluctant Sharon back to the war room. she grew tired of being escorted and pulled away from Delilah, choosing to sit down away from the others, drawing her legs up into the chair and resting her chin on her knees while wrapping her arms around her calves.>>

<< she seemed withdrawn more than anything else. Nicolas would remember her being like this in mainstream shortly after he and morgan performed emergency surgery on her in limbo to free her of the toxic drug that fueled her violent rage. her thoughts were like quicksilver to him HARD to focus in on...>>

<< but at least the team had her calm and they had a potential and powerfull ally in this unusual timeline.>>

The War Room

<< well, the six had made one discovery. Sharon Kelly was ALIVE , returned from the dead far sooner in this timeline than their own, which meant that someone clever and POWERFULL was behind it, but some how she had managed to escape. the six would remember that Sharon in their timeline had butchered more than half the people responsible for resurrecting her as she began her violent rampage across the city to reach Haleigh. the woman was quite powerfull and NOT easily controlled.>>

<< there were no signs of any other alternates in the building or the surrounding area. the video footage indicated that Alycia and Zach had been evacuated, but what became of Blaze or the other alternates? The mainstreams would do well to make use of the time they had...with no other threats and no "phantoms" to worry about, they coud use this time in the alternate illustra to gather information from the data input in the various computers and try to find out what or whom they'd be encountering.>>

meanwhile

<< zoom across town and below ground we find Karen in her private chambers, sitting at a computer in the darkened room, looking at images, clips of her DAUGHTER, MORGAN. the doctor sits silently with a stone faced expression. her hair is longer in this timeline, blonde and accented with highlights. she , helena and diana are all women in their late 40's or early 50's and yet they could give women half their age a run for their money in looks, health and durability.>>

a moment of reflection

<< in the large, darkened chambers, the doctor sits at a large, wrap wround console.>>

<< the images, and clips coming across the screen are that of her daughter, MORGAN. fashion shows, articles, shocking footage from the battle with Master Mold, Alycia's live broadcast on CNN that same night. >>

<< Karen's sapphire blue eyes fixated on the visual broadcasts...and she looked stoned faced, until she saw her daughter being sucked into the seige perilous...screaming.>>

<< her eyes blinked as tears began to fall. Karen was EVIL in this timeline...but not without deep seated REASONS. But inspite of that, her daughter's death SHOCKED her to her core. She hid her grief well from Malice and Enchantrah...but in private, she grieved...often. she secretly blamed herself ...the way her relationship with her daughter changed after Karen had murdered Christopher. their family unit was ripped apart by Christopher but it was then OBLITERATED when Karen went a step FURTHER in her indignation. Her serving as a doctor at WESTIN HILLS , a mystech strong hold medical facility, was one of many strains on her relationship with Morgan...but now...they didnt even have a frosty relationship. Morgan was DEAD.>>

<< but there was something ELSE. She and Enchantrah had a long, DEEP SEATED chasm of hatred between them. They may have come together for strategy in business and related endeavors, for like Karen, Helena had murdered another doctor from Mystech's original consortium, Adam Chandler while Malice had murdered James Marcus, the co founder of Mystech in the late 60's. These WOMEN had DESTROYED the MEN who had founded what would become the most powerfull global commercial entity.>>

<< the Sisterhood had accomplished MUCH in their drive to stamp out the Six. Morgan's death was a surprising turn of events...but one that DEFINATELY hastened the moment where Alison, Delilah and Haleigh were captured. that fatefull battle between the Sisterhood and the few survivors of the six took an explosive turn when Guardian and Blackout faced off. everything and nearly everyone suffered from that fallout and from all accounts... Alison did not survive. Blackout wouldnt have EITHER had it not been for Malice and Shadow Weaver's intervention and now, the rest of the six were GONE. disappeared! what was left?>>

<< in her heart, Karen really didnt CARE about "the next step"...she'd gotten all she wanted.she destroyed Christopher, she'd killed Cameron and she helped blight the Six's path at every turn. she could leave now and go to a far away place and live comfortable with amount of wealth she had thanks to wise business ventures at Malice's direction....so why was she still here?>>

<< maybe she wasnt as evil as she THOUGHT she was.>>

<< they'd be preparing to go to Illustra to see for themselves just what or WHO was left, but in these private moments, the doctor had no choice but to reflect on how she came to be where she was.>>

<< that moment of reflection would soon be interrupted by an UNWANTED visitor.>>
