Yesteraday i posted this:

It disappointed me that there wasnt more reaction to this.

But i have to tell you I am heart broken and sickened by the outcome of the trial over Sean Bell's MURDER. Yes I'm calling it that. Shooting an UNARMED MAN 50 times is BEYOND "extreme"..its "OVER KILL".

This only exacerbates the sad truth that in America its okay to destroy a black man (literally) and justify it by saying "it could have been".

It's time like THIS where I wish i either lived somewhere else, or could identify as something OTHER than "white". this is yet another example of how sad and SICK the state of this racist country is.

The scary part of this is that, as Black male, I realized that someone could kill me and say I said anything, and because of my race, it would be OK for them. I will say this now: this verdict and the situation makes me hold my own son that much tighter, because I realize that who he was born as makes him more likely to be murdered. I weep as I write this...I have to go.

Its the fact that simply put in the eyes of most people and the media its fine mostly because he was a black man in a relatively bad neighborhood. Black guy in Jamaica, Queens drunk too he must have been asking for it. It all depends on the face on it, this one just has the wrong one to get media or public attention.
BTW going home this weekend on the bus (i live in/around Jamaica) I don't know the last time i saw 2-3 cops every block.

are you kidding me?

like WHITE men dont go out, get drunk and disorderly in public in "bad areas"? do you WATCH Cops? half the episodes are about that. White men being drunk and disorderly (and/or naked) in public places, in bad neighborhoods etc...and what happens to them? they merely get thrown to the ground, cuffed and carried off.

a black man gets the hell beaten out of him, shot up , killed and THEN when its discovered that he was UNARMED...it's supposed to be EXCUSED by reason of SUSPICION?

im sorry but that's ridiculous. THEY need to be held accountable for the OVER KILL that they visited upon him.

I'm dumbfounded by the verdict here, especially with three officers and a total of fifty bullets on one drunken male? That simply is not justice at all or "okay." Its only going to be a prime example for other police officers to take the law into their own hands. People can easily lie and say they "heard him ask for a gun" or even mistake a candy bar for a gun. I would have liked to see the evidence here because I wouldn't find those three bastards innocent. Each of them violated their orders. They didn't wave their badge, they didn't investigate the scene, they were quick to shoot and ask questions later. The one officer (in Farrah's previous thread) shot a train or something lol. That's reckless endangerment right there. Nothing more than a pair of loose cannons and cowboys.

These three police officers can keep their job but what about the finance', the parents, and the children? What do you tell them, "Oh, I'm sorry he was drunk and we thought we heard him yell for a gun." Or rather the passenger "yelled for a gun." Give me a break, the guy wasn't armed, neither one of them were.

I've gotta agree with you Farrah. I'm ashamed to live in this country, especially reading articles like this.
