The Parthenon- Blaze's Penthouse

:: Many began to pour glasses of champagne. Cameron refuted. ::

"Eh..I've had a little bit too much tonight. Delilah, Vivica, Cassandra and myself spent the night at McSorley's of all places..."

:: Others might have been scared to even mention Delilah's name in Morgan's presence, but Cameron was not one of those people. He knew that while it may make her uncomfortable, she wasn't about to pretend that Delilah didn't exist. That wouldn't help things...if she was going to be around The Six then she needed to deal with the fact that Delilah was a part of that..just as Delilah would need to come around to the fact that Alison and Morgan weren't going anywhere either. ::

"I think I inhaled sawdust!"

Well!

<< Morgan said with a bit of a laugh as she excepted another flute of champagne from Blaze>>

You're just FULL of surprises aren't you? Who knew that a pampered yuppie like YOU could ever set foot in a place like that...& survive!?

<< Morgan took pleasure in ribbing him on that>>

But the choice of venue is not surprising where Delilah is concerned. In highschool and college, she took me to to the most...FASCINATING venues for entertainment. It was priceless, watching her CLEAN OUT the guys' pockets over pool games in some "hole in the wall" bar and then we'd go shopping the next day!

She taught me how to drink. But I preferred the "girlie drinks" , as she called them, to the beer....still do!

<< Morgan smiled as she FONDLY recalled her earlier years with Delilah. Maybe the others DIDN'T feel like it might be a good idea to mention Delilah around Morgan, but for Morgan...there was no need for that. She'd made her choices, she could live with the consequences because she knew what she'd done was RIGHT. And nothing that happened NOW would change the past, the MEMORIES and sometimes, in the aftermath of such destruction (in this case, their friendship) that was ALL a person had to get them through!>>

Well..you'll have plenty of time to figure Melrose out while you settle back into The Parthenon... [deadpan] With your family! I bet it will feel great to only have Blaze a few doors down now instead of a WORLD AWAY!"

:: He smiled at her with the same kind of shit eating grin as The Cheshire Cat. Cameron knew Morgan was not planning on living at The Parthenon...and he didn't like it. He knew the others wouldn't like it either, even if they told her they did. So Cameron was essentially trying to force it out of her. ::

And when has DISTANCE ever been a problem from me?

<< Replying with a sparkle in her icy violet eyes?>>

Distance OR time for that matter? NEITHER one is a big obstacle when you can TELEPORT!

<< "Smiling" with her eyes, returning Cameron's energy in the moment back at him.>>

Well..I'm an impatient man...and I couldn't wait to share what I had been working incredibly hard on with all of you.

AND you were never quite sold on living on the west coast either.

<< Morgan quickly added in as Cameron began CROWING about his latest accomplishment>>

Cameron said:
We're family..and we need to stick together..and now? We FINALLY have that place at The Parthenon. After feeling in transit for so long..we are ALL finally going to be back together again!"

"FINALLY?"

We had it BEFORE. Just a few blocks away, at Illustra.

<< Morgan said with a pang of nostalgia as she gulped down some more of the delicious champange>>

Blaze: "Aw what difference does it make WHERE she is going to stay RIGHT THIS MINUTE? Let's just enjoy the moment at hand! Morg is BACK, she's WITH US, that's really all that matters. And like the winds she flies on, She always knows where HOME is. "

:: He continued his sardonic smile as he glanced at Morgan giving her a look of "We will talk about this later." ::

<< Morgan cooly gazed at Cameron. She recognized provocation quite easily and he was engaging in it. So if he had something to say to her "later", that was fine with her, because SHE would have something to say to HIM as well!>>

<< She smiled and continued on as Cameron moved on Ava and Cass talked with Sharon.>>

<< She looks at Nicolas, her mother, and Blaze>>

Another drink?

<< Blaze gestured to the table which had a tray with several more filled flutes on it. Morgan took another>>

Blaze: "We're supposed to sip this, right?"

Morgan: since when have WE EVER followed directions?

<< they both laughed and clinked their flutes together and gulped down more champagne>>

If it's alright with you Blaze, I'll spend the night in your penthouse?

Blaze: "Morg, we're sisters! You don't need have to ask! you're always welcomed."

I just have a few urgent things to attend to in the coming days BEFORE I...get "settled".

Blaze: "I would say I'm surprised Alison didn't just BLINK IN now, but knowing how she feels about this place...and Delilah, that's why she's not here."

<< Morgan sighed. She, Blaze, Nicolas and Karen all looked a bit somber for a moment>>

Seeing Alison is one of those urgent things I have to do. I may just teleport there TONIGHT.

Karen: That reminds me! Alison contacted me just a little while ago! HAZEL is there visiting, Morgan. Can you believe that!? so if you're going to go, I'll go with you!

Blaze: "Why don't we ALL go! "

<< Even though Blaze Victory had never met Hazel Hawthorne, it was clear that Morgan's sister was feeling quite spontaneous and she LOVED taking spur of the moment trips with Morgan in her own native timeline- whether it was flying OR teleporting via stepping disc!>>

Morgan: We PROBABLY should check with Alison first on that. It's one thing to have a spontaneous party here but I dont think she'd appreciate a stepping disc opening and a half dozen tipsy people falling out of it into Minerva's Aerie.

Bishop: That’s it, keep telling yourself it’s all been ME. I wouldn’t want any of you to take any responsibility for your actions. I mean, why start now?

Haleigh laughed incredulously.

"I'M NOT THE ONE WHO GOT HER PREGNANT, JACKASS!"

Bishop: I’M not what she needs right now...

"YOU CAN BE! You can be EXACTLY what she needs. You can stop dicking around and start acting like what you are--the father of her child. You can GET OVER YOURSELF, stop pretending to be a martyr, and start doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to find the solution that reunites Delilah with her daughter. Have you even TRIED? Or did you just do your usual hit it and quit it?"

Bishop: All you people had to do was have her back for once in your lives. And you blew it. You fcuking blew it.

She grabbed him by the neckline of his shirt.

"I've HAD HER BACK since the day I met her. You don't know what the FUCCK you're talking about. I've stood next to her against enemies AND friends. I've been THERE for her, even when that wasn't popular. I've been supportive, encouraging, understanding. I've BEEN THERE to put her back together after YOU smashed her to pieces. I was THERE to pull her out of the fuccking ocean the day she committed suicide over YOUR AWFUL ASS. I was THERE, trying to put the air back in her lungs, so DON'T YOU DARE stand there with that slick ass smile and try to tell ME that *I* blew it, because I'm not the one who did this to her, I'm just the one trying to make it right."

She shoved him away before she got overwhelmed by the urge to circumcise his face.

Bishop: And for the record, I wouldn’t change a goddamn thing that brought that beautiful child into this world, so don’t you preach to ME about responsibility.

"Oh, that's a nice sentiment, tell me, do you help raise her? No? well, do you send care packages, or just child support payments? WAIT A MINUTE, you don't do any of that SHIT. You stashed her in Limbo, and now she's somebody else's whole life. They get up every day and take care of her. Meanwhile, You live here, you probably nail some blonde bimbo that sorta/kinda looks like Delilah, and you do 'Sun salutations' or whatever the fucck in the park the morning after. Have you even SEEN 'that beautiful child' since the day she was born, or was today the first fuccking time?"

Bishop: You weren’t THERE. You missed the part where she nearly vaporized my head with a photon blast. She’s not going to kill you, Haleigh. But me? Hell, she’s already done it once. And you and I both know it’s easier the second time.

Haleigh feigned concern, gently touching Bishop's forearm as if to comfort him.

"Oh, is THAT what you're afraid of? Don't worry Maxi, I won't let her hurt you. I'll protect you from the big bad blonde. (Rolling her eyes) Give me a fuccking break. Do you want to borrow my balls until this is over? Because I've got enough to spare, I don't mind."

Bishop: I did the only thing I could: I lost my family - AGAIN -in order to protect them. ‘Easy way out’? Sure, I could have kept Alexia with me. Until Delilah found us, which you know she would have. Hell, one of your telepaths probably would have helped her. Or until my daughter accidentally killed someone and I had to take her on the run? What kind of life would that have been for her? Hiding who she is? You think it was easy to destroy my entire life, and any hope I had of ever having one again? Sweetheart, there wasn’t a single easy thing about it.

"First of all, DON'T fuccking call me sweetheart. And second, you're asking what kind of LIFE that kid would have with YOU? WHAT THE FUCCK KIND OF LIFE DOES SHE HAVE NOW?!?! She doesn't know her mother or father. You think that's going to help her develop into a well adjusted human being?"

Bishop: I’m out there, I watch her, I make sure she’s safe. What do you do? Other than piss her off and make her feel WORSE about herself. Forcing some kind of bullshit down her throat.

Every word that came out of his mouth was more ignorant than the last. Haleigh could hardly believe he was trying to spout this nonsense.

"You don't know JACK SHIT about what I WOULD DO, HAVE DONE, OR AM DOING for Delilah. YOU pissed her off. YOU made her feel WORSE about herself than any of us put her together, and don't even get me started on the bullshit YOU fed her. You turned her AGAINST US. EVERYTHING was FINE until you came along."

Bishop: You know, back in the Marines, I once tortured a guy with a car battery. I attached wires to his most…sensitive areas. That is nothing compared to what I will do to anyone who hurts my child.

"Cool story bro."

She replied dryly, less than impressed by his idle threat.

Bishop: Seems to me, the first thing, is find out if my daughter is where she’s supposed to be. So how about we round up one of your witch friends and make a person-to-person to Ororo?

"We'll get to that. Right NOW we're gonna check back in with Cameron and Sharon, so they don't think I've dismembered you. Give me your hand, I'm going to bring you back to my place."

Haleigh said:
"I'M NOT THE ONE WHO GOT HER PREGNANT, JACKASS!"

He raised an eyebrow as she shouted at him. Man, she was really worked up.

“Why does this bother you so much? We’re not teenagers, Haleigh, we didn’t rent a motel room after prom. Or are you some closet Jesus freak?”

Haleigh said:
"You can GET OVER YOURSELF, stop pretending to be a martyr, and start doing WHATEVER IT TAKES to find the solution that reunites Delilah with her daughter. Have you even TRIED? Or did you just do your usual hit it and quit it?"

“Unlike you, I allow Delilah to make her own decisions. She chose the Six over me, and I didn’t like it but I accepted it as HER CHOICE. Just like having a baby was HER CHOICE. I don’t do whatever the hell I please and then pretend I know better than Delilah what she needs.

“Did I try? I FOUND the solution. I entrusted my daughter to the one person DELILAH would have trusted, who could TEACH her to control her powers. When a damn freak who can see the future told me there was NO OTHER WAY.”

Haleigh grabbed his shirt, like he was supposed to be intimidated by her. He was surprised her head didn’t explode as high as her blood pressure had to be right then.

Haleigh said:
"I've HAD HER BACK since the day I met her. You don't know what the FUCCK you're talking about. I've stood next to her against enemies AND friends. “Your people are the ones who made her feel like a traitor, who NEVER let her forget what I did, as if that was her fault. Who wouldn’t let her try to find some happiness on her own, who forced her to stay with them so they could ostracize her. Blame me all you want, Haleigh – just stop blaming HER.”

Haleigh said:

“Do you even hear yourself? She’s not across TOWN, Haleigh. I can’t just head over to Limbo for a visit. Don’t you think I would if I could? Should I ask Alison or Morgan, who would just as soon spit on me as let me anywhere near Delilah or her child, even now. Don’t you think I’ve TRIED to find a way there, find someone else to help me? And as a matter of fact, I have made financial arrangements for Alexia for her return. Don’t pretend you know me, because you DON’T. And what about YOU, who are such a good friend to Delilah, have YOU visited her child, brought her news back, hell, brought her daughter back here because that’s SUCH a great idea. Have you thought about what happens NEXT at all because that’s ALL I DO.”

Haleigh said:
"Oh, is THAT what you're afraid of? Don't worry Maxi, I won't let her hurt you. I'll protect you from the big bad blonde. (Rolling her eyes) Give me a fuccking break. Do you want to borrow my balls until this is over? Because I've got enough to spare, I don't mind."

He held up a hand.

“I’m good, but, you know, that MIGHT help with a little problem I hear you’ve been having hanging on to your MAN. Maybe put on a dress once in a while, remind him you’re female. You are female, right?”

Haleigh said:
"First of all, DON'T fuccking call me sweetheart. And second, you're asking what kind of LIFE that kid would have with YOU? WHAT THE FUCCK KIND OF LIFE DOES SHE HAVE NOW?!?! She doesn't know her mother or father. You think that's going to help her develop into a well adjusted human being?"

“I didn’t leave her on the damn streetcorner, Haleigh. Let me ask you this: how long did it take you to learn to control your power, whatever the hell it is? A year, five, ten? So if the options are: Delilah’s dead and Alexia lives the rest of her life knowing she killed her own mother or, when Alexia is ten she is reunited with her mother and Delilah gets to spend the rest of her life with her daughter, which is better? Jesus, forget you hate me long enough to see reality. This world is not safe for a baby with the ability to kill – she would be hunted and murdered or dissected in some lab. Where she is is the safest place for her right now. With someone who has the POWER to protect her. And the fewer people who might want to hurt her that know where she is the BETTER. You're only angry about this because you aren't the one IN CONTROL.”

Haleigh said:
"You don't know JACK SHIT about what I WOULD DO, HAVE DONE, OR AM DOING for Delilah. YOU pissed her off. YOU made her feel WORSE about herself than any of us put her together, and don't even get me started on the bullshit YOU fed her. You turned her AGAINST US. EVERYTHING was FINE until you came along."

He laughed and shook his head.

“No, Haleigh. Everything wasn’t ‘fine’. It was just easier for you to ignore her then.”

Haleigh said:
"We'll get to that. Right NOW we're gonna check back in with Cameron and Sharon, so they don't think I've dismembered you.

“’We’ll get to that’? Why wasn’t that the FIRST thing you did? And your company is called ‘intelligence’?”

Haleigh said:
Give me your hand, I'm going to bring you back to my place."

“If you wanted to hold my hand, girlie, all you had to do was ask.”

He reached out and took her hand. He sighed and rolled his eyes.

“This sucks already.”

Tink was already asleep by the time Cameron came over and sat down beside her. The cat opened her eyes just enough to peer over at Cam with a utterly unenthusiastic look as if to say, why the hell did you just wake me up.

Cameron: "Hey A, Whaddya say? Holding up okay?"

Ava cracked a smile as Tink audibly sighed out before closing her eyes again.

"I'm holding up fine, MC King."

Ava leaned in closer to Cameron before whispering.

"Don't quit your day job."

She teased before nudging him gently in the shoulder.

"Although I could ask you the same thing. You were about as subtle as a sledgehammer to Morgan a few minutes ago. Care to explain? Or are we filing this under more secrets the six keep from one another?"

Ava narrowed her eyes inquisitively. She knew Cameron was hiding something, however she didn't realize the extent of it and how deeply it would effect the team.

”Hello, Cassandra. It’s good to see you again. You’re looking well.

:: Cass smiled a bit. ::

“Thank you. I’m…slowly getting back into the swing of things.”

Sharon said:
”This is a joyous occasion, the return of Morgan…but you appear to be quite preoccupied, sad even. What’s wrong?”

:: Cass sighed. She should’ve known that Sharon would pick up on her sadness and grief due to her enhanced senses, but maybe that was exactly why she chose to speak to Sharon in the first place. Somehow she knew that SHARON would understand, probably more so than the others. Cass glanced quickly around before pulling her friend away from the others. She sighed again, and her ice-blue eyes filled with tears. ::

“I…I FOUND my childhood best friend from Poland, Sharon! All this time I was in New York and she was in the same city, and…and I NEVER knew! I only found out last week because I read an article in the paper about her…”

:: A few tears escaped and slid down her cheeks. Cass quickly wiped them away. ::

“She…WAS in palliative care at the hospital and when I realized she was here, I…used my powers of manipulation and control to gain access to her and I’ve been visiting her, and taking care of her, for several days now…”

:: She rushed on, before Sharon had a chance to lecture her. ::

“I HAD to, Sharon! She was my best friend from childhood! I had to KNOW…she didn’t seem to be in any pain that I could see. She had end stage liver cancer, you know…so she was usually sleeping when I checked in on her. But…”

:: Cass let out a small sob. All this time, she and Cece were in the same city! She could’ve had more time with her; she SHOULD’VE had more time! ::

“I went to see her tonight, and she…RECOGNIZED me as I was clearing away the dead leaves and flowers from the various arrangements. At first I thought she was asking for her daughter…” *awe*: “Sharon…she NAMED her daughter after me…BRYDA. But no. She was looking right AT me!”

:: Cass wiped her eyes again. It felt good talking about it. She cleared her throat. ::

“We had a good visit, although she didn’t really seem too surprised to see me how I am. She DID say that I was special, and that was why the Nazis chose me? Anyway, we had a nice talk, went down memory lane, and then she…she…”

:: Cass cried softly. ::

“She told me about my FAMILY, Sharon, and then she gave me…MAMA’S RING!”

:: Cass lifted her right hand to show her. ::

“I don’t know HOW she knew, but she had been saving it for me all these years! I don’t even know how she and Mama managed to keep it from the Nazis, but they did and Cece gave it to me!”

:: Cass was now crying openly. She didn’t care if anybody else witnessed it. ::

“Cece…passed shortly afterward.”

:: Cass covered her face with her hands, her shoulders shaking. ::

*whispers*: “I’m not in the mood for a big celebration right now. I’m sorry.”

Ava: "I'm holding up fine, MC King."

:: Cameron smiled ::

Ava: "Don't quit your day job!"

He laughed as Ava nudged him and then leaned in closer, whispering undetected amongst the very loud voices who were all celebrating Morgan's return. ::

Ava: "Although I could ask you the same thing. You were about as subtle as a sledgehammer to Morgan a few minutes ago. Care to explain? Or are we filing this under more secrets the six keep from one another."

:: She gave him one of signature icy "stop bullshitting" glares as he rolled his eyes for a moment. ::

[speaking lowly]

"Well...apparently, she may be back..but she's sure as hell not going to be living at The Parthenon. I heard her talking to Haleigh when I stopped by to Haleigh's apartment. Just makes me mad is all. We just got her back and she's going to tell us that she can't even live under the same roof? Suck it up already..ALL of this has gone on for TOO long now."

:: Cameron didn't say why he had visited in the first place and where Haleigh was at the moment. He knew that he could probably trust Ava not to say anything about Delilah if he were to tell her but he also knew she was just as likely to storm the streets and get some justice herself. Plus..she was going through some heavy stuff lately. If Cameron, Haleigh, Sharon and Bishop could figure this out amongst themselves...it was better for everyone. He didn't even want to think about how Morgan might react if she knew that we were in another situation involving Delilah, Bishop and their child. ::

"Plus...you know how quickly things turn to shit around us. It'd be nice if we were all under one roof."

[ Sharon looked at Cassandra in disbelief as she practically melted down in front of everyone.]
...

Let's go out into the hall.

[ Sharon hands Cass a tissue from a nearby box of tissue on the table and moves her out of Blaze's penthouse and into the hallway, closing the double doors behind them.

I think you've done well to make an appearance this evening and see Morgan, but now you should go to your own penthouse and have this time to yourself.

[ Sharon said calmly]

It isn't easy, addressing parts of one's past, I know. But you can't blame yourself for what you didn't know. I had the same issue regarding my son, and even though I still sometimes shudder at the thought that he was lost in that horrid Arklay Mansion for all those years...and I miss him TERRIBLY, I take solace in the fact that I was the one who finally gave him PEACE.

You did what you had to do to survive. At that time, nothing else mattered. But when you know something...or someone is out there, you can't just let it go unaddressed and you didn't! You found her when you were meant to.

You were with your friend during her last moments in this mortal coil and now you were able to connect to a key part of your past. Take this time to mourn and reflect...but remember that you owe it to yourself AND your loved ones to live in the here and now. You ARE special, and you can continue to ensure that part of them lives on through you.

[ Sharon walks Cass to the elevator]

There will be plenty of time for you to see and interact with Morgan in the coming days, but for now, just take this time for yourself.

[ Sharon wondered if Cass would EVER allow herself to live in the NOW. How could she be taken seriously or seen as being able to GIVE as well as receive emotionally from her teammates if she continued to act as though she was a world apart?]

[ It was a journey that sharon herself had to make after her initial return as the Silver Swan!]

I'll be visiting here for the next day or so. So we'll see each other again. And remember, now is not the time to wall off and isolate yourself for prolonged periods of time.

Cameron: Well...apparently, she may be back..but she's sure as hell not going to be living at The Parthenon. I heard her talking to Haleigh when I stopped by to Haleigh's apartment.

Ava raised her eyebrows with amusement at hearing Cameron openly admit to eavesdropping outside Haleigh's door.

"Oh really?"

Cameron: Just makes me mad is all. We just got her back and she's going to tell us that she can't even live under the same roof? Suck it up already..ALL of this has gone on for TOO long now.

Ava could understand where Cameron was coming from, but she also understood where MORGAN was coming from as well. For years they all lived together, whether it be Illustra, Aerie, Melrose Place, or The Parthenon. There was never a separation. Granted it was for safety reasons and made it easier to deal with every catastrophe that came their way, but it didn't mean it was something they all wanted.

"Cam, it's not like she's moving to Limbo permanently. I don't see what the big deal is if she wants to get a penthouse down the block? When everyone moved to Los Angeles I stayed in New York until I HAD to move. I hate that city...it's filled with hipsters and Armenians. [Ava wrinkled her nose in disgust]. Regardless of where she stays, Clandestine will make it so Morgan can't use the bathroom without Haleigh knowing."

She could see Cameron wasn't budging.

Cameron: Plus...you know how quickly things turn to shit around us. It'd be nice if we were all under one roof.

"I DO agree with that. This groups a BEACON for problems. Honestly...i'm surprised something hasn't already happened."

Little did Ava know.

"Look, you have valid points Cam, i'm not going to argue with that. But I also see where Morgan's coming from too. So I call Switzerland on this one."

She stated with a smile as she raised both hands up in a peaceful 'unarmed' manner. Just then Ava heard a hiccup of a sob causing her to turn her attention to a crying Cass and a rather uncomfortable looking Sharon. Sharon quickly ushered Cass out of Blaze's apartment. Leaning into Cameron.

"And so it begins."

Ava quipped while smirking, taking a jab at the start of MORE problems.

I'll be visiting here for the next day or so. So we'll see each other again. And remember, now is not the time to wall off and isolate yourself for prolonged periods of time.

:: Cass allowed herself to be herded out of the apartment by Sharon. She was grateful for the time Sharon gave her to stem her tears and get back in control. She felt bad because she really wanted to stay and have fun with everybody, and she didn’t want to disappoint them either. She may have lost her family in the Holocaust…but in the aftermath of the Purifiers and such, she gained a NEW one and she wanted to get to know them better after being closed off [mentally and emotionally] from them for so long. Her past circumstances did, indeed, determine her then-future and then-present but not now anymore. Or so she thought until Cece became a very welcome, though unexpected, blast from the past. Cass nodded at what Sharon was saying. ::

“I’m sorry...it’s just that this is the first time I really let myself mourn for my family and loved ones. I never expected to be reunited with ANYBODY from my old life…at ALL.”

:: Cass sniffled. ::

“You don’t know this, I don’t think, but you all ARE my FAMILY. In a very weird way, getting captured was the best thing for me. I’ll tell you about it sometime, but thanks for listening and for encouraging me with your words. They mean a lot to me.”

:: Perhaps surprising Sharon, or not, knowing what she knows about the inner workings of people’s bodies, Cass leaned forward and HUGGED the woman. DEEPLY. ;) ::

“I just wanted to be with my NEW family, and get to know them and let them get to know me…which is why I was in there…”

:: She let go of her friend and gestured at Blaze’s closed door. She smiled at Sharon. ::

“Thanks again, Sharon.” *softly*: “I truly appreciate YOU.”

:: Sharon mentioned she would be sticking around. ::

“Can we, maybe, get together sometime and talk? I have a few questions about some stuff…”

:: Cass really DID want to talk with Sharon about living life after, well, LIFE. She wanted to know how to stand firm, and not waver, when blasts from the past happened. She DIDN’T want to be ‘blindsided’ again. As much as she loved Cece, her recognizing her [Cass] and TALKING to her, completely threw her. She knew she had to get advice on that in case one OTHER, not so pleasant, blast from the past should ever occur, though it was probably UNLIKELY. Still, she wanted to be prepared…for ANYTHING. Cass looked at Sharon, sure that the woman would know what Cass was REALLY asking. ::

“Or, if you’re busy, perhaps you could guide me to another person, in our family, who might know about living life after life?”

:: Cass was giving Sharon an out, if she wanted, as well as asking for advice on WHO, in the Six, to go to for questions such as these. Sharon always DID want Cass to interact with her regular teammates. :p She turned and headed for her suite, looking back at Sharon. ::

“Let me know. You have my number. Hey…”

:: Cass called to Sharon as she reached her door. She looked a bit bashful as she made this unexpected move. ::

“I love you, Sharon. Thanks for being my big sister.”

:: She headed inside her suite, shutting the door behind her. She picked up the bag with her stuff and headed for her room. Once there, she stripped off her clothese and pulled on her pjs. She went to her closet and rummaged around until she found the box she was looking for. In that box was her pictures she had salvaged from her family’s homestead as well as the Mayor’s mansion after the war in Poland. There weren’t many, but there were a few pictures that she had of her family’s life. There was her and Cece’s pet rock, Skalny, as well as other mementos from her old life…like her
bear that she had as a child. As the Nazis invaded the mansion, little Cass threw her bear underneath some piece of furniture because she didn’t want him to be captured too. The bear was in good condition, thanks to Cass’ loving restorations, though she couldn’t seem to get rid of the blackened/burned back of the bear’s head. The bear did lose its left ear during the invasion somehow, but it was still HERS and Cass loved it. She took that bear with her and climbed into bed with it, holding it close, curled into a fetal position, and continued her mourning and grieving in the privacy of her own room. ::

Bishop: Why does this bother you so much? We’re not teenagers, Haleigh, we didn’t rent a motel room after prom. Or are you some closet Jesus freak?

"No, I'm not some 'Jesus freak.' It just so happens that I LOVE Delilah, and seeing her in this much pain makes me absolutely fuccking homicidal."

He just was NOT getting it, and he clearly didn't know WHO he was trying to argue with. He acted like he knew everything, and had all the answers, but he was proving his own ignorance a sentence at a time.

Bishop: Unlike you, I allow Delilah to make her own decisions. She chose the Six over me, and I didn’t like it but I accepted it as HER CHOICE. Just like having a baby was HER CHOICE. I don’t do whatever the hell I please and then pretend I know better than Delilah what she needs.

"What the fucck, REALLY?? You are such a fuccking hypocrite. You didn't let her make her own decision-- YOU DECIDED to take her baby away from her. You didn't even fuccking ASK HER what SHE wanted, YOU just pretend to know what was best for her."

Bishop: Did I try? I FOUND the solution. I entrusted my daughter to the one person DELILAH would have trusted, who could TEACH her to control her powers. When a damn freak who can see the future told me there was NO OTHER WAY.

"You'd better watch your fuccking mouth and show some goddamn respect because that WOMAN who can see the future--the one who tried to HELP? She just might be ESSENTIAL to the success of this whole operation."

Bishop: And as a matter of fact, I have made financial arrangements for Alexia for her return.

"Well WHOOP-DEE-FUCCKING-DOO! Can we get this man a medal? Deadbeat Dad of the year award goes to YOU, asshole."

Bishop: And what about YOU, who are such a good friend to Delilah, have YOU visited her child, brought her news back, hell, brought her daughter back here because that’s SUCH a great idea. Have you thought about what happens NEXT at all because that’s ALL I DO.

"I was willing to DIE to reunite them, and when that didn't pan out, I sent their blood samples out for testing. I've had a power suppression collar engineered for your daughter, and one for Delilah that camouflages HER power signature. The prototypes haven't been field tested, but it seems we're running out of time for THAT."

Bishop tried to hit her with a low blow insult, but it only served to make himself look misogynistic and petty. She laughed, actually laughed at his attempt.

"Trust me, you boys can't handle it when *I* wear a dress, and something tells me that you're the LAST PERSON I ought to take relationship advice from."

Bishop: I didn’t leave her on the damn streetcorner, Haleigh.

"You abandoned her, Bish. Do you really think it matters WHERE?"

Bishop: Let me ask you this: how long did it take you to learn to control your power, whatever the hell it is? A year, five, ten? So if the options are: Delilah’s dead and Alexia lives the rest of her life knowing she killed her own mother or, when Alexia is ten she is reunited with her mother and Delilah gets to spend the rest of her life with her daughter, which is better?

"Every second Delilah spends away from her kid, she gets worse. How long do you think it'll be before she snaps? Your fairytale ending is a pipe dream."

Bishop: Jesus, forget you hate me long enough to see reality. This world is not safe for a baby with the ability to kill – she would be hunted and murdered or dissected in some lab. Where she is is the safest place for her right now. With someone who has the POWER to protect her. And the fewer people who might want to hurt her that know where she is the BETTER. You're only angry about this because you aren't the one IN CONTROL.

"I'm ANGRY about this because my friend is suffering, and I've got to wade through bullshit TITS DEEP to get her the help she needs."

Bishop: This sucks already.

"You smell like a high school locker room, you don't have to tell ME how horrible this is."

They reappeared in her living room. Haleigh sent Cameron a text saying that she'd recovered Bishop and brought him to her suite. She followed up with another message asking if he'd been able to recruit Sharon.

There was tension, it was hard to ignore in fact. But ignore it he did. He would not get into some ridiculous argument about where Morgan STAYED. That seemed a stupid argument to start when you finally had her in this DIMENSION. And so he let it wash over him, determined not to mess with it until he saw he was needed. Which right now, he wasn't.

Cassandra was crying, and before he could come to her aid, SHARON (?!) ushered her out. He could fell a sense of grief washing over her...he would note to speak to her later.

Meanwhile, there was talk of going to Aerie, to which Nicolas and Mike were enthusiastically approving. Someone spoke of warning Alison first.

NAH! She'll be FINE! Let's just GO and surprise her. What's the worst that could happen?

Nicolas knew full well what the WORST was, but he was confident that Alison loved the assembled more than she despised drop-in visitors. Besides, he had not seen her enough latelywith everything here and she was gone before he could get some time in after the last caper. He was nearly set to simply 'port everyone there when he sensed something. Something he would need to check for himself. Turning quickly, he went into the bathroom...but only as a cover.

He appeared in Haleigh's apartment, standing between Bishop and the current team leader, arms crossed. His face was not angry, but intensely pensive.

Uh, Hales. Why in the FVCK is Bishop here? Are you trying to start World War 3 for fvcksake? Actually, full stop. I KNOW you have a great reason for this. Care to share with the rest of the class?

Nicolas looked at Haleigh, glancing quickly and nodding to Bishop before returning his gaze to the blonde hybrid...

The Parthenon -

:: Cameron knew that Ava made sense it just didn't matter much to him at the moment. It wasn't just about her not being under the same roof as the rest of them. Something was going on with Morgan and he sensed it the second he was in her presence. There were reasons behind her not wanting to stay at The Parthenon that extended far beyond Delilah and he wasn't sure he was going to like those reasons. Plus, he wasn't entirely sure that Morgan was as well off regarding the Delilah situation as she was presenting in the moment. ::

Ava: "Look, you have valid points Cam, i'm not going to argue with that. But I also see where Morgan's coming from too. So I call Switzerland on this one."

:: All at once Cassandra had some odd outburst of emotion at God knows what as an uncomfortable looking Sharon ushered her out the door in a rush. Ava smiled, Cameron grimaced. ::

"You sure you don't want to be Germany?"

:: He laughed. ::

"Or at the very least Austria? I swear..CJ is a sweet girl. But sometimes I feel like it's watching the full range of effects PMS has on one person every hour, on the hour.."

:: His phone vibrated with a text from Haleigh. ::

Text from Haleigh Davidoff said:
"Got Bishop. I assume you have Sharon?"

:: Cameron fingered back a quick reply. ::

Cameron Text to Haleigh said:
"Yeah..my job was a lot easier than yours. Although right now Sharon is outside Blaze's apartment consoling Cass for god knows what reason this time..as soon as that's tied up, I'll meet you down there."

:: Cameron looked at the group. ::

"As much as I would love to see my sister, I've got a few last minute loose ends to tie up at the office. You see I work with this bitch who wears fabulous shoes..but that's about all she does..She's constantly forcing me to pick up the slack. If you all are still there by the time I hang my hat up from the day, I'll meet you there..."

:: He grinned at Ava as he said this. Honestly Cameron loved having on the Board of The Zenith Group. At his core he was a definite nerd when it came to all things business and he was happy he had somebody in The Six he could share all of these little things the others didn't care about with. ::

Central Park to the Parthenon

“Now you’re just talking in circles. Either Alison is infallible or she’s a hack, but she can’t be both. SHE saw there was no way that Delilah could be with Alexia and survive. Alison and I had to make the hard decision, which YOU know was right. Not my fault your ego can’t handle that you wouldn’t have been strong enough to do what needed to be done. OR that you agree with me. Jeeze babe, I didn’t know I got you so hot and bothered, anything you want to tell me?”

He batted his eyelids at her as they joined hands.

Haleigh said:
"You smell like a high school locker room, you don't have to tell ME how horrible this is."

"You love it."

They were transported to what was supposedly where she lived. Though he had bets she really had a lair somewhere down in the sewers. Haleigh was texting…whoever it was they had come to see…and then the young guy who had transported him back to New York – Nicolas – appeared.

“Kid, you’re a hell of a cock block, I gotta say. I know you’ve been trying to get back into this one’s pants for a while, but tonight is not the night, so why don’t you just run along back to whatever you were doing. This has nothing to do with you.”

Bishop didn’t have any beef with Nicolas – he seemed like a good kid, in fact – but his personal life didn’t need an audience and until they figured out just what was going on, it was on a need to know basis. Plus, they only thing he could do to piss Delilah off MORE than he had already was to bring any more members of the Six into HER life.

Cameron: You sure you don't want to be Germany? [He laughed.] Or at the very least Austria? I swear..CJ is a sweet girl. But sometimes I feel like it's watching the full range of effects PMS has on one person every hour, on the hour..

"Why do you think I avoid her like the plague?"

Ava scoffed out a small laugh while shaking her head. She didn't know Cassandra very well--and there was a reason for that. Add the numerous hysterics the girl went into, and she certainly wasn't Ava's go to person to associate with.

"Overly emotional people aren't exactly my cup of tea."

Ava may have been an emotional wreck the past year, but she hid it well. The only people who could really tell were the telepaths and empaths in the group. But, she also had decades of practice when it came to life's harsh realities.

Glancing over at Cameron as he took out his phone, she noticed a text pop up from Haleigh. The only thing she made out was 'you have Sharon?' before averting her eyes so Cameron didn't see. Honestly, she didn't mean to sneak a peak at the incoming text, she literally just happened to look over when it popped up. However, it begged the question...why did Haleigh want to know if Cameron 'had Sharon'? And what exactly was going on with her?

Cameron: As much as I would love to see my sister, I've got a few last minute loose ends to tie up at the office. You see I work with this bitch who wears fabulous shoes..but that's about all she does..She's constantly forcing me to pick up the slack. If you all are still there by the time I hang my hat up from the day, I'll meet you there...

Ava narrowed her eyes playfully at Cameron as he took a dig at her. She had to admit, it was fun working with him in a professional manner outside of the six. But she also knew he didn't have loose ends to tie up at work either. He had loose ends to tie up with her sister.

"Have fun at the office...."

Ava stated evenly, watching as Cameron left Blaze's apartment. Taking out her own phone, Ava scrolled to Haleigh's name and opened a text.

Hey, have time to meet your little sis for a drink? I got a bottle of scotch with your name on it.

Sending the message, Ava knew Haleigh would deny her invitation if she were meeting with Cameron and Sharon. She wanted proof that the three were conspiring about something.

Picking up Tinkerbell as she stood from the couch, the feline stirred awake and looked up at her with rather pathetic looking eyes.

"I know, i'm sorry."

Placing Tink on the floor, Ava headed over to the others.

"As much as I love visiting Aerie, I need to head out myself. It's good to see you again Morgan....we'll go for drinks?"

Morgan and Ava had a special bond because of Morgan's connection with Darkchilde, so she knew the witch wouldn't be offended with her leaving and opting for a more 'private' reunion. Bidding everyone goodbye, Ava left Blaze's apartment and headed back to her own.

Bishop: Now you’re just talking in circles. Either Alison is infallible or she’s a hack, but she can’t be both. SHE saw there was no way that Delilah could be with Alexia and survive. Alison and I had to make the hard decision, which YOU know was right.

"See, that's the problem with you. You think everything is black and white, and there is only either good OR evil, and you can be either right or wrong, not both. But I've got news for YOU: this whole world is overcast in shades of grey, and until you start acknowledging them all, you'll be wrong even when you're right."

Bishop: Not my fault your ego can’t handle that you wouldn’t have been strong enough to do what needed to be done. OR that you agree with me. Jeeze babe, I didn’t know I got you so hot and bothered, anything you want to tell me?

Haleigh rolled her eyes and released his hand as they appeared in her apartment. THIS fuccking guy..... He clearly needed a woman who could put him on his back and KEEP him there-- a woman who could show HIM who the boss was and how much better it could be if he just stopped trying to be SO HARD all the time.

And I'd be JUST the woman for the job....

She briefly considered it. Hate sex could be cathartic and she'd have the dual satisfaction of relieving some tension while simultaneously putting him in his place.... And he was sexy enough if he just didnt speak... Plus she'd feel a lot less guilty boning him than Cameron, when it came to going back to Zach.

Nah, my love life is complicated ENOUGH without sticking BISHOP in it.

Nicolas: Uh, Hales. Why in the FVCK is Bishop here? Are you trying to start World War 3 for fvcksake? Actually, full stop. I KNOW you have a great reason for this. Care to share with the rest of the class?

Bishop clearly didn't want more people involved than had to be, and Haleigh knew the danger of too many cooks in the kitchen..... But in reality, this affected each one of them in some way and they'd probably all get caught in the riptide eventually.

"Bish, TRY to play nice, just this once. Nic, to be honest I wanted to get a better grasp of just WHAT EXACTLY the problem is before I involved everyone. I brought Bishop here because there's been some advancement on the Delilah/Alexia situation, and as the father he has the right to be included."

Cameron (via text)>> Yeah..my job was a lot easier than yours. Although right now Sharon is outside Blaze's apartment consoling Cass for god knows what reason this time..as soon as that's tied up, I'll meet you down there.

She breathed a sigh of relief. At least SOMETHING came easy to them. She texted him back:

>>Consoling Cass? NOW WHAT'S the matter?

>>No, you what, I can only deal with what I've got right now. I'll trust Sharon to handle that one. As SOON as she's done, I need you both here.

If she could get Cameron to babysit Bishop and talk Nic into giving them some room, Haleigh could task Sharon with contacting Ororo (so they could just CHECK to see if the kid was where she was supposed to be and possibly avoid involving Morgan), and then Haleigh herself could go down the hall to talk Delilah into joining this whole insane circus.

Ava (via text)>> Hey, have time to meet your little sis for a drink? I got a bottle of scotch with your name on it.

Aw fucck.......

She didn't want to lie to her sister, and there was nothing she would love MORE than a bottle of scotch right now to help distract her from all the things that were going wrong in her life. She needed a second to sit and decompress, and maybe even talk to her sister about some of what was bothering her.... But it couldn't happen. She wondered if Ava was inviting her over to finally confide in her, which gave Haleigh a major guilt trip. If Ava wanted to talk, Haleigh was a shitty sister for blowing her off, but at the same time, she couldn't just let Delilah hang out to dry.

I need to look into getting myself cloned so there's enough of me to deal with all these seperate disasters.....

She texted back:

>>I WISH! Mind if I take a rain check? I've got a lot on my plate right now.

“Kid, you’re a hell of a cock block, I gotta say. I know you’ve been trying to get back into this one’s pants for a while, but tonight is not the night, so why don’t you just run along back to whatever you were doing. This has nothing to do with you.”

Nicolas did not even acknowledge him. There was ONE person in this room that existed at the moment, and her name was Haleigh Davidoff. He waited for her answer.

Nicolas raised an eyebrow.

If that is so, then what problem could there possibly be that would require his presence prior to investigating and verifying such an advance? What could he POSSIBLY do other than antagonize members of the team and drive Delilah crazy?

The Parthenon - Haleigh's Suite

Text From Haleigh: >> No, you know what, I can only deal with what I've got right now. I'll trust Sharon to handle that one. As SOON as she's done, I need you both here.

:: Cameron read the text as he headed out the door and Sharon was about to re-enter. He grabbed her by the hand as he began to sprint down the hall, his psychic senses tingling. ::

"Haleigh's got our guy..and it looks like Nicolas got a little too curious about what was going on. You need to get him out of the way and on board and I need to make sure this doesn't get any more out of hand then it already is."

:: Entering Haleigh's penthouse they soon came upon the scene with an angry looking Rampage, an exhausted looking Black Widow and a stone cold looking Bishop. ::

:: Haleigh and Nicolas were going back and forth. ::

Haleigh: "Bish, TRY to play nice, just this once. Nic, to be honest I wanted to get a better grasp of just WHAT EXACTLY the problem is before I involved everyone. I brought Bishop here because there's been some advancement on the Delilah/Alexia situation, and as the father he has the right to be included."

Nicolas: "If that is so, then what problem could there possibly be that would require his presence prior to investigating and verifying such an advance? What could he POSSIBLY do other than antagonize members of the team and drive Delilah crazy?"

:: Cameron intervened. ::

"A problem which at the moment needs to involve as FEW of us as possible, Nic. Do you think we would be calling this guy in here if we felt we had other options? A situation with Delilah and Alexia happened.."

:: Gesturing his hands. ::

"You know..Delilah, who pretty much despises most of the people who live in this building? With an added hatred for the woman who chose one HELL of a night to return to Earth?! She doesn't trust you guys..and like it or not..Maxim is Alexia's father. No matter how polarizing a figure he may be to The Six..he's still a better option than Alison or Morgan or ANY other members of The Six are at this point. I'm not bringing my sister OR Morgan into this unless absolutely necessary."

:: He turned to Sharon signalling to her to step in before turning back to Nicolas. ::

"We need people to start acting. Not ask questions. So either go with the flow..or get out."

:: Cameron turned to Bishop. ::

"Same for you, dude. Regardless of how you might feel about the REST of them..I DO have Delilah's best interests in mind..and I HAVE been there for her through this. I'm not letting her down. Not this time."

Haleigh's Suite

Haleigh said:
"Bish, TRY to play nice, just this once.

“I’m never nice.”

Haleigh said:
Nic, to be honest I wanted to get a better grasp of just WHAT EXACTLY the problem is before I involved everyone. I brought Bishop here because there's been some advancement on the Delilah/Alexia situation, and as the father he has the right to be included."

“Nice poker face.”

This was clearly going to take forever, so Bishop decided to make himself comfortable. He slumped heavily down into a chair, leaning back and putting his feet up on the coffee table, his hands behind his head.

“Fine, but when Delilah finds out you involved him in [waves his hand] all this, it’s on you Red.”

Nicolas said:
If that is so, then what problem could there possibly be that would require his presence prior to investigating and verifying such an advance? What could he POSSIBLY do other than antagonize members of the team and drive Delilah crazy?

He laughed out loud at that one.

“Dude, you’ve been antagonizing Delilah since long before she met me. If ANYONE’s presence isn’t required here right now, it’s yours. I’m not sure why Cherry over here puts up with you sticking your nose into her business (let alone just appearing in her apartment like that but whatever), but obviously you were left out for a reason. Sucks if your feelings are hurt but I’ll tell you again: move on, you have no clue what’s happening here, and this doesn’t concern you.”

And then the rest of the party arrived. Alison’s brother and Sharon Kelly. This must be what Hell is like.

Cameron said:
"Same for you, dude. Regardless of how you might feel about the REST of them...I DO have Delilah's best interests in mind...and I HAVE been there for her through this. I'm not letting her down. Not this time."

Bishop mocked looking around then pointing at himself and mimed “ME?” with raised eyebrows.

After a second, he assented and raised both hands in a peace gesture. He DID acknowledge what Cameron had done for Delilah in the past months. And clearly the guy had grown some balls during that time.

“Hey man, I got no beef with you. I’ve seen what you’ve been doing. You’re pretty much the ONLY person who acted right in this whole fcuked up mess and the only one I’d trust with Delilah.”

Then he looked to Sharon.

“What’s up, Wings? Long time, no attempted murder. At least of each other.”

He winked at her and grinned, before sitting up in his seat.

"So. NOW can we get a move on with this or would you folks like to waste MORE time?"

Moving through the parthenon

[ Sharon looked down at Cass and after a few moments, she smiled a bit]

Emotions let us know that we are ALIVE, Cassandra. Good or bad, they serve a purpose. I had to...learn how to navigate through emotions all over again after MY return, so again...I can understand.

You were able to say goodbye to your dear friend, and she is free now. Forever at peace. just like my son. And now YOU'RE free to live...this "life after life".

[ She placed a hand on Cassandra's shoulder and squeezed it gently]

Take this time to yourself, and realize going forward, that intentions mean little when the ACTIONS don't match. You either start living your life to honor your fallen loved ones and making the most of your NEW family? Or you'll risk being seen as too brittle to be trusted with the WEIGHT of any REAL relationships among them!

You know that you're not alone, and some of us have empathy for your situation of "life after life".

We can certainly talk more in the near furture, but for now, I have urgent business that requires my attention.

[ Sharon looked at Cass with a warmer facial expression now, watching her as she finally went inside her suite and closed the door. The mutate was truly glad she had survived her ordeal at st. Patrick's Cathedral and believed the best of her was yet to come. For now though, there was an issue that required Sharon's attention...]

:: Cameron read the text as he headed out the door and Sharon was about to re-enter. He grabbed her by the hand as he began to sprint down the hall, his psychic senses tingling. ::

[ From Blaze's floor to Haleigh's, now inside of Haleigh's penthouse, Sharon's eye mask immediately formed over her eyes, giving her that more intimidating visage. She looked upon Bishop with that cold stare she was now known for.]

Then he looked to Sharon.

“What’s up, Wings? Long time, no attempted murder. At least of each other.”

He winked at her and grinned, before sitting up in his seat.

"So. NOW can we get a move on with this or would you folks like to waste MORE time?"

His bones are so hollow...I could CRUSH him !

Bishop, You got the drop on me ONCE, when I had FIRST returned as the Silver Swan. That would NEVER happen again.

The Amazons have always spoken of the importance of having MERCY on the lesser, the WEAKER adversary. I keep that in mind EVERY time I look at you and it's the ONLY thing that keeps me from SNAPPING your frail body like the stem of a flower!

EVERYONE ELSE has been forever changed by the Blue Moon, but NOT YOU.

You're STILL the thoughtless, shortsighted FOOL that you always were. The ULTIMATE tragedy is that Delilah LOVED someone like you!

[ Looking at Nicolas and speaking to the point]

Nicolas, though you mean well, your presence here will do more harm than good. Please return to Blaze's apartment and spend time with Morgan and the others.

RIGHT NOW, until we know exactly what's happening and what it means, this is a matter best left to thethree of us...and this.

[Gesturing dismissively at Bishop]

We need to keep things as calm and EVEN as we can and if it turns out we need more help, we know who to call.

Go now.

[ Sharon said gently but firmly]

And please, not a word to the others. Don't make this any harder for Haleigh and Cameron than it already is.

And this was apparently the worst covert operation ever. Everyone believed they could handle things when it came to Delilah...and the irony was not lost on him that this is probably how this went so wrong during the Blue Moon. In any case, he was satisfied at least that Haleigh would not go it alone with Bishop.

Very well. You know how to reach me if you need to. Good luck with....whatever this is.

Nicolas nodded to everyone and no one in particular before teleporting...

...exiting the restroom as if nothing had happened in Blaze's apartment. He picked up Karen quickly and swung her around as well, kissing her cheek.

You though I forGOT about you?! NOPE! No need for you to be left out....
