ESPN the thread

Has ESPN gone too far? I mean have they become more than the sports and events they cover? The anchors are writing books and they are known as the "Four Letter Network."

I think what really hurt is when they tried their movies that are awful.
The effects are bad, the acting and stories were horrid. They had one success
The show Playmakers a good show. The NFL got so mad at the reality of Playmakers that ESPN cowered down and canceled the popular and well rated show.

Shouldn't they just stick to sports and not showing Sportscenter 3,000 times a day?

What are you guys and ladies thoughts on ESPN

Ohh man im a girl but i love sports and ESpn is a good channel i am a huge Oklahoma sooners fan i also like the colts and i think this updates all sports fans on what they missed out on

there was a series on ESPN like last year ....it was about this football player and all the "behind the scenes" drama they went through in the locker room and off the field. Cuba Gooding Jr.'s brother was in it.

there was one storyline where one of the players was gay..and someone was trying to out him. Some of the team were giving him flack about it while others were remaining Neutral...it was quite interesting and then there was another storyline where cuba gooding jr.'s brother's (i forget his name) was involved in a shooting and the cover up.

The show was very gritty sort of like Law and Order..but it was still ficticious. i think it was one of the first "series" of that type on ESPN.

That is the show "Playmakers" that I was talking about Spellbinder. The reason ESPN dumped it was because the NFL thought it was too realistic and told ESPN to drop the show. That is what made me and others upset. Also, I saw cuba gooding jr's brother at La Guardia Airport in NYC last autumn. He looks the same.

ESPN did put my Alma Mater Auburn on TV a lot last year and did give us fair coverage. Even though USC got the national title in both polls at least folks knew we were better than OU (sorry sooner fans).
