Escape to Illustra

*Eva turned her head and watched the two new people go at it bitchingly to try and figure out what was going on. She knew why they were after her, but not the rest of these people, so she just kept quiet. She learned to stop trusting people a long time ago, too much information at the moment might be too much for them to know about her. She tried too hard to keep her life balanced and MysTech free so far, she wasn't about to let it run down the drain, be it by demons or mutants. She watched the two get thrown across the room into her couch by the strongest one there, a woman dressed in a catsuit, lowering her head a little as she mentioned the fact Eva had been rescued from these things, hoping she wouldn't have to go too into it. She shook it off and leaned back into the couch on the armrest, looking at Haleigh approach the older woman and continue on with a rant. As she spoke about the Citadle, memories from her past flooded through her brain, leaving her looking gone and distant for a few minutes as she remembered the faces of Christopher and Adam, the all too familiar feel of her procedural chair, the beepings of the machines, the smell of the chemical air...no, she wasn't going to go back to that, not now, not ever, they needed to be stopped. The hypnotically alluring swirls in her eyes began to crackle and shine a light icy blue, a light wind picking up in the room before Eva snapped back to attention, blinking her eyes some as she looked around, wondering if anyone had noticed. She ignored it and continued to watch everyone bickering about, seeing as she was the only one "unfrozen" up to this point...before this was done she'd have all their secrets well found out.*

"So how do we all fit in...purpose wise?"

*She paused and listened to Alison continue to speak, watching her intently as she tilted her head to the side taking in the information. She didn't have to look at the view of the Citadle being displayed, she could remember it quit well after the five years. She did however look over at the scrying glass, seeing the pictures of her two captors, staring at them as if her gaze could burn a hole through them, deep down hoping it could. Her eyes followed the new woman off the couch and into the cornor, naturally assuming she was having a similar event with the knowledge of her now alive father. Eva grit her teeth, letting the glass change in her view as she looked upon random citizens being overcome with this new TO virus...thankful she wasn't around to experience that test. Their screams and bloody bodies didn't affect her much at all, she was used to carnage and other more random and defiling results from laboratory tests from MysTech. The images changed again, this time showing herself. A little shocked, she glanced back over to Alison as she spoke, not breaking her gaze and not caring if anyone stared at her. Thunder cracked as the tall woman popped into the room, tired yet still bitchy. Her suspicions were correct, some people were going to get bloody before they were all done helping each other, there was no doubt about it. As Alison retold all she had spilled previously to Spellbinder, Eva turned her head and nodded at the tall woman, taking another moment to get all the facts straight as she played with them in her head. This mention of "Black" piqued her interest as she wondered what the two women were talking about, and helping free Foxfire from the Citadle was an obvious must whilst reeking havoc to destroy the place.*

"I can get you in, around the place; it's secret rooms, hidden doors, whatever."

*Eva eyed the two women, before taking a quick glance over at Haleigh who'd been rather amazingly quiet for some time. She needed to make herself useful to this group of people besides just attracting sentinels like flies to a burning white light. She'd spent five whole years in the establishment, she certainly knew her way around the building...how to get past the spreading virus would be the next problem. All went quiet in the room as Alexis stormed off, throwing objects and sending them crashing to the floor as she disappeared into a room. She was too emotionally disturbed to do anything right now, but the virus was spreading and they needed to do something about it quickly to keep it atleast contained within NYC. Eva slipped off the armrest and walked across the room towards the door putting on hand on the knob while she lightly tapped with a knuckle on her other hand. She opened the door and walked in, closing it behind her as she leaned back against the door, keeping herself in dodging range in case the woman decided to test her flexibility. She stared at the ground the entire time, her peripheral vision keeping Alexis and her hands still in view as she thought about things. She looked up at Alexis for a moment with a brief half smile, not knowing how the woman would take it but hoping she could get through to her somehow.*

"You've made it this far thinking he was dead, just the mental thought of him being gone and out of your life was enough. Well he still is, what says that just because he's alive doesn't mean you can't carry on as you were? Parents may seem like the world, but there's so much more out there within friendships thats a lot closer than family will ever come."

:: Alexis' head turned towards the door as she heard a soft tap. Just as the door opened, she turned her head away not allowing whomever was there to see her face. Sniffing softly, she quickly wiped her tear stained face with the back of her hand before glancing quickly at the woman. It was the waitress....the last person she would of assumed would come in. Rolling her eyes, she figured Eva would go on a rant about how Alexis needed to knock it off and get it together because the fate of the world was blah blah blah, but the dark beauty expressed what seemed like kindness to her. Something Alexis wasn't too familiar with. Listening to her words, Alexis' expression was blank as she stared off into nothingness. Eva was right about everything, but it didn't make the pain or anger any easier. After a few moments of silence after Eva spoke, Alexis finally looked up, making eye contact with the woman she didn't know. This was one of the innocents Adam experimented on....one of the many innocent people he carelessly worked on not caring what happened to them. Staring into her eyes for a few moments, she then shifted them downward. ::

"Easier said than done, buttercup....I don't have friends."

:: Pushing herself off the ground, Alexis stood smoothing her chocolate leather pants of it's wrinkles. She of course, putting up her tough exterior, because she hated when people saw her like this. Only Adam and one of her ex-husbands, Jaxx, have actually ever seen Alexis cry. Turning to the mirror, she ran her fingers under the lids of her eyes removing the smudged mascara and eyeliner. Looking at Eva from the mirror for a moment, she glanced back at herself and then turned towards her. ::

"I don't even know...so I don't know why I'm even saying this to you..."

:: Alexis took a breath in. ::

"But it took me a long time to get over...killing Adam...I hated the man, oh how I hated him. Just as you do I'm very certain. But he was the only family I ever had. Who actually loved me for me. Finally getting my life on track after that was hard....and the thought of him alive again is even harder..."

:: Her eyes meeting up with Eva once again. ::

"Look, I know you could care less about my sob story....so.."

:: Saying thanks was always extremely hard for Alexis...but Eva, a woman who didn't even know her, and who's father did these horrible things to her, took time to comfort her, if that's what you wanted to call it. ::

"..thank you."

:: Nodding slightly, she let a small smile form on her normally pouty lips. A smile which is rarely ever seen. With that, Alexis walked to the door of the bedroom and opened it, walking slowly out to the rest of the group. It could very well be seen that Alexis was crying, but she would never admit it to these people. Eva was the only one who actually saw her, and that was how it was going to stay. Walking into the kitchen, Alexis grabbed a wine glass and a bottle of 1964 La Finche Chateau-Rothchild which was sitting on the counter near the refrigerator. Popping the cork open, she pour herself a small amount before placing the bottle down. The liquid's odor was intoxicating as Alexis swirled it around before taking a sip. ::

"Bottom's up daddy"

:: Alexis spoke quietly but with much hate. Looking at the wine for a few moments, she finally downed it, allowing the cool liquid to run into her mouth and down her throat. Six months down the drain...but well worth it. Removing the rim of the glass from her lips, she placed it on the counter top. ::

"May you rot in hell."

<< the emotion from some of those present in the pent house high atop Illustra was running high. as Cameron dared to mock Spellbinder....she turned her head...and her icy violet eyes glowed as she glared at him.....>>

<< in an icy voice>>: listen up...you smart mouthed PUNK!

<< she steps up to him....already 6"1....she is now looking DOWN at him due to her high heels>>

How DARE you mock me....and my sister! I will BREAK your boney little body apart with my bare hands...if you dont SHUT YOUR MOUTH! THE ONLY REASON your ALIVE is because Guardian saved your wretched carcass. apparently you are NEEDED to help STOP this hell from consuming the city....even though your every action up to this point would suggest you are right in line with the thinking of MysTech. Now GET OUT OF MY WAY!

<< Spell upper cuts Cameron in the stomach, before shoving him forcibly out of her way as she storms out of the large, spacious observation room overlooking the city. Even PULLING her punch.. with her super strength she winds the man and leaves a painfull bruise on him. This was his first time being surrounded by women of power...women that HE couldnt manipulate....he was clearly out of his element.....it was a long way from the sunny view of california....as this sprawling city was falling into darkness in more ways than one.....and between Spellbinder and Guardian...he wasnt sure which one of them might try to kill him first. In the case of these two women, It was truly the first time his powers and his bravado meant NOTHING to those he had displayed them to>>

<< Spellbinder turned her back....to one of the walls...which featured several liquid crystal displays....on one of them..she observed ALEXIS, trashing one of the rooms in the pent house>>

THAT UNGREATFUL WENCH! Guardian! you brought these uncooth, unkept imbeciles into Illustra...and THIS is how they show gratitude!? we ought to get rid of the LOT of them...they belong down on the ground ...with the REST of the rabble!

<< Spellbinder stormed past Haleigh, shoving her aside as well....as she went toward the hall leading to the room Alexis was....but by then, Alexis was coming up the hall and the two women bumped into each other. Spellbinder quickly snatched Alexis forward...as she gripped her by the wrist....so tightly that it was starting to crack>>

HOW DARE YOU! if you touch ONE MORE THING in here..ill BEAT you within an INCH of your LIFE!

<< Spellbinder's icy violet eyes locked on to the meta human with unrelenting glare...as she rushed into the room and shoved her back away from the shelf where she had already destroyed bottles of alcohol and pictures>>

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!? coming into MY property and trashing MY things!!

<< even as she had her fist raised...ready to strike Alexis.....she could see that this woman was TRULY distraught....there was pain, disbelief ...and rage in her eyes......the same feelings SHE had for her own father, Christopher.....and like Alexis...the mere thought of him was enough to unnerve her. After all the damage he had done.....and knowing that he had her sister in his cruel hands>>

::Guardian moved forward...quickly stepping between Morgan and Alexis::

EASY SPELL!! think about what your doing!! if you hurt Alexis....or anyone else here how will we accomplish our goal??

I KNOW your in pain. You dont want to show it but i KNOW that the revelation of your sister's status..your father..and black..its your worst nightmare come true but LOOK at her ::gestures at Alexis:: given the state that she's in now, do you really think beating her or using your magick against her is going to help get us closer to what our ultimate goal is?!

for the sake of EVERYONE here...CALM DOWN!!!

::a few tense moments pass... Guardian gently put her hand on Morgan's raised fist...and lowered it down...and gently backed Morgan away from Alexis...leading her slowly away from the group and over to the window to allow her space to breathe and basically to allow everyone to calm down and think everything through. For the moment, all was silent::

::they were safe for now, well protected...but if they couldnt stop attacking each other from within....then they would NOT prevail against the monsters on the outside and they would surely fall to MysTech::

« Before Cameron could think another venom dipped thought, he found Morgan Victoria standing right in front of him. Her unusually large heels made her somewhat tower over him. The saliva from her rage fired mouth splashed at his face as he felt the sharp pain of a punch in his stomach. Maybe he should just keep his mouth shut for awhile, but then again, that wasn't in his nature. These two women were way over the line in ticking him off. He hated being in this situation. He hated feeling useless, and helpless. He hated not being able to manipulate his way out of a situation. Prophet rubbed his chest, which already hurt from being slashed by one of the Shadow Whips as he sat down on one of the couches. Cameron missed the Sunny Skies of California, and the comfort of his companion Vivica. The whole thing was just so scary and looming, this is the kind of thing that Prophet would have usually gotten a vision to warn him about, but he had got nothing this time. Maybe it wasn't the women who were stronger than him but that his powers had somehow grown weaker. It was something to consider. It wasn't long before Cameron heard yelling in the room next to him. He could only laugh at this point. »

"Well aren't we a Jerry Springer Family Christmas..This penthouse HAS to have something to drink... or are we on restriction, Guardian?"

« He looked for her but she had gotten up to break up the fight between Morgan and Alexis, with Morgan near pummeling the girl. What was Alexis thinking? The girl was a rail and Morgan was powerful looking. Cameron looked over and questioned their situation as everyone seemed to be calming down. »

"Alright.. I'm not trying to push any buttons.. but do we have a plan for this "mission"? As in estimated time of departure and arrival, how we are getting there? I don't know.. I would just feel better with logistics.."

:: Looking towards the living area, in which everyone was grouped at, Alexis heard yelling and threatening, from the obvious source of it all; Spellbinder. Letting out a small sigh, she left the kitchen and made her way down the hall only to see the furious woman ahead. Looking into her eyes, she recognized that look all too well. She was in great pain about everything that was happening. But soon, Alexis' very small pity towards Spellbinder vanished as she was snatched and scolded at. Alexis' face tensed up as she began to grit her teeth. How dare she! How did she expect Alexis to react? Oh Adam's alive...lets go skipping through a daisy filled meadow together. PLEASE. Raising her own hand believing the two woman would soon be beating the hell out of each other, Alison stepped in. Taking a breath in...as Alison slowly touched Morgan's hand and lowered it, Alexis did as well. Her face still showing her utter hate towards Morgan and what she was doing, their eyes met. Behind the ice cold glare, Alexis could see she was feeling the same as her. For once in their life, they could relate to each other. Seeing the two woman turn away and slowly begin to make their way down the hall, Alexis spoke with great hesitation. ::

"....Morgan"

:: Seeing Morgan and Alison stop for a brief second before they proceeded, Alexis continued. ::

"You may hate me.....loath my very existence. But I see it in your eyes. The same pain I feel right now......the hate and utter disgust for our fathers. If anyone from this group understands what you're going through. It's me."

:: With that, Alexis stopped. There wasn't sympathy in her tone, nor threat, or anger. She spoke with little to no emotion at all...but the hint of pain could be heard in her shaky voice. Once Alexis stopped talking, Morgan and Alison continued down the hall and away from the group in the living room. Taking a deep breath in, Alexis took her very tender wrist in her hand. Rubbing it as she winced, that woman was stronger than she could even imagine. Looking to her already bruising wrist, Alexis exhaled and proceeded back into the living room, meeting with the rest of the group. ::
