There's a new favorite pastime in Hollywood: "cougar" spotting. They're easy to find. Just look for the 40-ish woman with a hot young man on her arm.

Which cougars are top prowlers on Web search? Newlywed Mariah Carey, followed by Madonna, Halle Berry, Jennifer Aniston, her friend Courteney Cox and cougar queen Demi Moore. The Cougar Den is getting crowded.

But cougars aren't the only ones "dating down" in Hollywood. Here are some other members of the love-cat family:

"Pumas" are defined as women in their early 30s attracted to younger men. Think 33-year-old Eva Longoria and her 25-year-old beau. Or 35-year-old Cameron Diaz, who turned heads with her two-year relationship with 27-year-old Justin Timberlake.

"Jaguars" are established, 50-plus women who are hot enough to snag a younger guy. Think 61-year-old Susan Sarandon, who has been in a long-term relationship with this 49-year-old actor. Or Star Jones, who's rumored to be Dewayne Wade.

Not that it's any of YOUR business :tomato: but I would qualify as a "Puma" at this time.

My mother is definately a "Jaguar"... she's 50+ and her husband is in his early 30's. She married her present husband when she was still a "cougar" and he was 28! but everyone has always said she looks far younger than her actual age.

As for any of those women I hope that they are happy. I think that once you are legal, you should do what makes you happy. I have enjoyed the company of women twice my age (21 vs 42 and 19 vs. 37) and I have been with younger women (25 vs 19 and 27 vs 18 and my wife is nearly 6 years younger than me). It is on what the person wants and congrats to those beautiful women on their conquests (although I hope that Star Jones leaves Dwayne Wade alone, he has a young wife and two children and denies the allegations).
 
LOL! i think its just cool and cute how they've given that title to sexy older women. E! did a show called "25 hottest cougars/cubs" where they listed the hottest couples comprised of older women and younger men (or women as they did include Ellen Degeneres [a cougar] and her younger girlfriend Portia DeRossi). Now you see it being used everywhere. Charles Barkley called Star Jones a cougar when referring to the rumours about her and Dwayne Wade. the hosts of BET called Madonna a "cougar".

Vh1 did a "25 hottest cougars" countdown featuring sexy older women (take THAT "Maxim magazine")

I love this term and I’ve only heard of cougars and kittens. But I like the other definitions too, haha. Whenever I think of cougars I’ve thought of Madonna and Demi Moore, not there’s a whole slew of definitions to know.

I’m all for women being sexy no matter what their age is. Hey, if you got the goods then by all means sell it, baby. :D

Our receptionist at work is a Jaguar and man she sinks her claws into our clients, especially if they are plastic surgeons, doctors, dentists, lawyers, etc. LOL. If a younger woman attempts to flirt with a guy she likes it’s a real cat fight, especially the catty remarks. I’m amused by it, especially the plastic surgeon we have, whose married by the way. She doesn’t seem to care though she wants what she can’t have.

Speaking of Ellen I heard she’s going to be getting married to her girlfriend in California soon with the marriage ban being lifted.

But seriously, why should older men get younger women? Its only fair that beautiful and successful older women participate in the animal kingdom.

I'm all for doing what makes you and your partner happiest. If there is an age gap or a generation gap who cares as long as you truly want to be together. That said any women looking for a younger boy toy I'm free this evening drop me a line :rose0: I'm more than happy to be a trophy boyfriend ;)

Yes, that poor boy would be eaten alive by the cats on this board lol. Especially by you Ms. Mountain Lion. ;)

and yes, the older cats on this board are DEFINATELY a force to be reckoned with.

Lexi is definately a "Puma" as well (even though she's not the right age, she's got the personality LOL). I feel that I'm a "Puma" with "Cougar" like tendencies :D

Yes, you guys do fit the profiles despite the age difference. I wouldn't consider myself any of those, more so a Minx. :D
