Changes for the worst

Haleigh stood in her living room, hugging herself, staring out the panoramic windows, looking down at the streets below... the streets that were filled will crowds of people.... hundreds, who were protesting against mutants... and policemen on horseback who were trying to keep things under control. Behind her, the TV had stopped flipping through the channels and now settled on CNN. Haleigh listened to the ominous report.

>>Entertainment Elite, or Mutant Freaks?

Haleigh turned to look over her shoulder.... pictures of the photoshoot they'd done.... the one with all of the Six together.... overlaid on a tape of them in action. A reporter began talking about each of the Six and their alleged abilities, and how they'd been hiding in plain sight this whole time, using their abilities to underhandedly get ahead. Haleigh grimaced and sighed. She was slightly better off than some of her comrades.... some of them stood to lose EVERYTHING in the way of their careers... but Haleigh had protocols in place for exactly this. She needn't worry, everything was being taken care of as she'd preordained. Liquid Crystal Images, while a successful standalone business, was only a front. It could be shut down and all of those employed would be given generous severance pay, with little financial loss as most of Haleigh's money came from elsewhere. Clandestine was a fortress and could continue on, running as usual. Most of those employed with CI were mutants metahumans, or otherwise superhuman. Those who weren't were mutant sympathizers, and posed no threat. Haleigh issued a taped company address, informing her CI operatives that they were well trained for this kind of thing and that they should keep up the good work. Any employee who wanted a safe haven for their families had 24 hours to notify their commanding officer so that arrangements could be made.

At least that would go smoothly and without any stress on Haleigh's part. All she had to manage was the safe retreat of the Six..... but that would be no mean feat, and she knew it. She appeared in the War room where the rest were gathering, her arms folded across her chest, looking vexed and in a generally unpleasant mood. Ava held up a paper that called her the next Hitler.

"That's alright, I'm being referred to as 'Megatron'." She said sourly. Then, huffing in annoyance: "Dumbasses. Everyone knows Starscream was a way cooler AND BETTER evil villain transformer than that retarded Megatron. At least HE got away at the end of the movie. and if I HAD to be a dead, subpar bad guy, why couldn't I AT LEAST be the one that rides around as the cop car the whole time? That'd be the kind of shit I'D do."

Morgan, Ava, Alison, and Nicolas discussed an escape plan. Haleigh hated the idea of running away with their tails tucked between their legs but she was well aware that they had no choice. They needed to find a safe and secure place, out of sight and away from prying eyes. Illustra would not be a sanctuary for very much longer.

"Don't worry about Blaze. She isn't in any immediate danger, she wasn't exposed with the rest of us, but I have been in contact with her.... I advised her to lay low for a while and she said she would. Cameron.... [faltering a moment, looking briefly down at the floor and then back up again] Well, there's no news of Cameron. Hasn't been for weeks. I think he should change his last name to Houdini. The REST of us should take a page out of his book and learn how to fall off the face of the earth."

A few relocation suggestions went up. Haleigh offered as well.

"Well, Clandestine is also suitable base of operations, below ground and completely hidden, but I think we should be well prepared to leave the city, if things get any worse than this. [pausing, raising her left hand to touch her temple with a distracted, out of focus expression] Law enforcement is marshaling.... they're evacuating the crowds.... something's not right. Alison? What's about to happen?"

Nicolas brought Delilah in to join the group. Haleigh glanced at her but didn't say anything.... just kept an even, blank expression. Haleigh didn't hate Delilah.... nor did she feel the urge to hold a grudge.... they'd all made their mistakes.... the only thing that had mattered to Haleigh was that Delilah had done right by them in the end. Sharon had never been in any REAL danger, when Connor trained his rifle on her and intended to end her life. Haleigh sensed the sniper's gun, and could have easily disabled the weapon... but she didn't. She was going to LET Connor take the shot.... it was his choice. He could leave them alone and live.... or try to kill one of them and die. As soon as the gun rang out, Haleigh knew Connor's life was over. He would not survive the backlash of another attempt on Sharon's life. Haleigh would have snatched the bullet right out of the air before it ever neared it's target, and the rest of the Six would have descended upon Connor like a pack of wolves. But Delilah had taken care of Connor.... she'd done what was necessary. In Haleigh's book, that made Delilah alright again. Walking out on them had stung, but Delilah made the right decision in the end.

"We've no reason to kill you Delilah. You exhibited poor decision making, gave us all quite a scare.... but you came to your senses and showed your TRUE alliance. You'll eventually find amnesty with all of us, when we're each ready to forgive, if you know how to ask for it."

Of COURSE they are evacuating the crowds. That way there will be no witnesses when they strike first to detain us. They will publicly either claim to have charges against us of some sort or they will declare us security risks under the Patriot Act and related terrorism laws. Be prepared to be accused of half the unsolved murders and ANY unexplained events in the last 5 or so years at LEAST so the can use this.

Nicolas cleared his throat before continuing...

...violent acts or acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State, or that would be a criminal violation if committed within the jurisdiction of the United States or of any State; and appear to be intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping.

That, my friends, is the current definition of TERRORISM. This WILL be used against us here to silence dissent. Furthermore, I have already anticipated and made plans to be indicted for insider trading related to my abilities.

That is why we need to leave. Because if they capture us, the jig is up. They will use these flimsy charges to do what they REALLY Want to do: cut us and figure out how the goose lays the golden eggs. Then reverse-engineer us to make soldiers and strategic resources or brainwash us to be the most powerful slaves EVER.

Look, I don't care where we go right now, but we need to move, before they can set up the trap. That way, they have to find us and all that jazz while we plan our response to all of this. Even if we move again quickly, we need to be gone from here in the next half hour at the most. I suggest the island I built primarily because it is uncharted and remote. That would buy us time to contact Athena if that is what we decide to do.

Nicolas stopped as he "heard" the thoughts outside.

Ava, could you conjure up some season-appropriate extreme weather? Something they have to pay attention to but easily explainable...

:: Looking at Haleigh as she referenced Transformers, Ava actually cracked a smile during this extremely stressful time. ::

"Leave it to you to make jokes about which robotic comic character you'd rather be compared to."

:: Shaking her head, Ava softly chuckled to herself. But Nicolas soon got back down to buisness. Rolling her eyes as he mentioned the government blaming them for every murder, unclosed police case, and terrorist attack, it was ridiculous but true. ::

"It's not just our Government. I was speaking with a contact of mine who's based in France, and we're wanted for terroristic acts and treason throughout most of Eastern Europe. This is GLOBAL."

:: Nicolas suggested creating a bit of bad weather outside to slow down the police and get rid of some of the protesting citizens that were still lurking around Illustra. A sound idea, and one Ava definitely wouldn't mind complying with. ::

"It'd be my pleasure."

:: Since's Ava's stress inadvertently caused some thunder outside earlier, it would be best to go with a classic sever thunderstorm, so it wouldn't draw attention to the six. Closing her eyes, the skys--which were already cloudy--darkened a bit in color. Thunder crashed outside and lighting flickered in the sky as it began to down pour throughout NYC. Winds began to pick up causing the protesters and police officers to quickly run to find shelter from the storm. Opening her eyes, she looked at Nicolas. ::

"Done."

Be prepared to be accused of half the unsolved murders and ANY unexplained events in the last 5 or so years at LEAST so the can use this.

"Hmph.... well, if that's the case, then they'll only have caught me on a THIRD of the criminal activity against me that they COULD have nailed me for."

She cracked sardonically. Nicolas began a long winded monologue about terrorism and how bad it would be and how terrible government hospitality would be.... Haleigh rolled her eyes. She was well aware of what the government would do if they got their hands on any member of the Six.... they all had a pretty good idea.

"Hey, Captain Obvious! Pull yourself TOGETHER and lighten up on the fire and brimstone, alright? We ALL know what we're in for, so let's just take it easy and focus on what we need to do, not what might befall us if we don't get away. We can get out of here with a stepping disc in the blink of an eye. We'll GET away."

Nicolas smiled as Haleigh cut short his longwindedness. Looking at her, he cracked a smile in spite of how he felt.

Fine, Megatron. Let's skedaddle first and let our friends run interference while we plan our next move. I suggest that we play on the natural distrust people have for authority. The tape could have been doctored. The scenes of us could be out of context. We have intineraries that will exonerate us from most charges that can be levelled. RELEASE THEM. We also have the tape of Morgan, myself, and Ava being attacked by birds. That alone would cast doubt as to our abilities. Because if we were so powerful and dangerous, why did we suffer like everyone else that day? Just a few suggestions. But for now, let's gather the others and get going.

"Oh, you're a wiseguy now, eh? A wiseguy with a DEATHWISH, maybe, [pointing finger and giving him an impish scowl] because if YOU call me that again, you're gonna WISH the Suits had gotten their hands on you!" She said initially, but then paused, considering something for a moment, then deciding he was probably just going to make some cute quip or another and disregard her threat completely: "No, you know what? I'll make you a deal. You vow to pick another decepticon nickname from the movie for me, and I'll tell you what color panties I'm wearing."

She offered, raising her eyebrows at him and leaning against the War Room table. She wore a mischievous smile, but it was harmless fun, mostly just for show. Or at least.... it had to be. Either they were just teasing the boundaries or they were both completely insane to be carrying on constantly like this, especially now, right in front of an already frazzled Morgan. Nicolas was good at staying business oriented.... he suggested a method of damage control, once they safely ferreted away. Haleigh had been considered how to handle it for quite some time... and while she understood his plan, she had one of her own.

"No.... no, I don't think we should do that. [looking around the room pensively] I think we should... 'come out', so to speak. I think we should issue public statements about our struggle with Mystech. Hell, they want to play the tape game?? I've got LOTS of good footage that'll give them the warm fuzzies about Mystech and the corrupt sectors of our government. Why don't we show them the Master Mold footage.... the REAL tape. NOT the doctored one Alycia released that kept us out of the picture. I can give them the whole thing, and every SINGLE human out there can see every SINGLE drop of blood, sweat, and tears that WE GAVE that night ALONE.... when Sharon and Morgan DIED... FOR THEM. we are NOT the enemy.... and we don't have to bend over and just TAKE this slander. They want the TRUTH?? We'll give them the WHOLE TRUTH. I can produce video playback of every encounter we've had with the Mystech Inner Circle. I've been archiving evidence against Mystech for a LONG time now, I've got a room FILLED with our vindication. We do not have to BE the villains here... and we wouldn't have to HIDE ANYMORE. THINK about it.... it's not that far a stretch. Our military, our troops kill in the name of homeland security and we receive them with open arms, we laud them as HEROES..... well.... we're heroes.... and we could be heroes in their eyes too."

:: Giving Haleigh and Nicolas a look as they began to flirt and joke, Ava narrowed her eyes in more of a 'you've got to be kidding me' look. ::

"FOCUS, people."

:: Sitting back, Ava sighed out. ::

"I swear, you two are worse than middle schoolers sometimes."

:: Haleigh finally got back down to buisness, talking about actually providing evidence that they are in fact mutants. Ava wasn't taken with the idea. ::

"But do you honestly think people will believe us? [looking to Haleigh] If Alycia could so easily doctor the footage of Master Mold the first time, what makes you think they won't believe that we doctored it again to make it look like we're the heros, not the villians? The media will twist our statements, the footage we provide, and the 'evidence' that shows we AREN'T the enemy, to somehow 'prove' that we ARE, and that we're simply trying to save our collective asses..[shaking her head] I don't know...I think if we go that route, we'll just be digging ourselves in deeper."

Illustra- the eye of the storm

<< Morgan covered her face...tensing up at some moments as she seemed to be breathing slowly.>>

this is the end...

<< she already felt her life , her lively hood, her DREAM fading away. suddenly she was nothing more than a witch....a concubine of satan, religious leaders across the country were crying out for her and alison to be BURNED AT THE STAKE, for modern day witch trials to begin all over again.>>

<< Pat Robertson, the Westboro Baptist church, the religious right....all of them.>

<< escaping was the only choice they had...but she just couldnt LEAVE illustra behind...could she? just LET them come barging in and take it over? how DARE they!>>

<< the sounds of the others discussion around her seemed so muted to her. even Delilah and her silly idea about them killing her didnt provoke a response from Morgan, although had she been in her right mind she would have taken delilah and shaken her :D nor did she feel motivated to chide Haleigh and Nicolas for their never ending banter. Tinker, sense her 'mommy's' distress, conintued to rub against Morgan's arms, and make soft purring noises, trying her best to comfort her 'mommy'>>

<< Haleigh asked what was happening...and as the others spoke...all voicing valid poins, Alison interrupted.>>

Alison: Alycia wont be ALIVE long enough to help us if we dont get her out of Capitol hill NOW. they're about to try to get underground via an express jet but they will be GASSED in the very elevator they are in now....and thats not all....SENTINELS...HUNDREDS of them...are being brought online as we speak. Ava is right...this is GLOBAL. mutants and metahumans overseas are in "less danger" than in america, the most racist/bigoted country on the planet, BUT THE SIX is wanted for MANY 'Unexplained acts of destruction" around the globe...the most recent being in GREECE following the Red Moon and Circe.

<< Morgan uncovered her hands..her icy violet eyes looked grim.>>

I'll get Alycia. right now.

<< and with that Morgan teleports, leaving the others there. those who have worked with Morgan a long time know that if she feels trapped or cornered she comes out like a mountain lion, and WOE onto the "forces" on capitol hill that try to stop her now.>>

As Ava chided Haleigh and Nicolas, he shot back in a middle school sing-song.

SHE started it. Besides, Starscream's not wearing panties anyway...

Alison warned of impending doom for Alycia, and Morgan disappeared via stepping disk to retrieve her straightway. Nicolas shot back to business.

OK, let's gather everyone else and we can move as a group. I will contact Mike and have him get the others together.

***********************************

Mike nods, and knocks on the door. As Karen answers, he speaks quickly, staying outside the door.

Karen? It's me. We need to move quickly, get to Illustra to relocate until we figure out what to do next.

Illustra

:: Harbinger interrupted Nicolas.::

Don't bring them HERE! we need to go THERE!

The Sentinels have been dispatched after SILVER SWAN! We have to meet them at that house.

:: she seems to explode with exasperation as she looks up at the ceiling, running her fingers through her hair::

It's HER fault!

:: pointing at Delilah::

SHE made the choices...SHE gave Connor the INROAD. THAT is why i came back...to PROTECT the family that SHE was so willing to ABANDON! SHE didnt listen...just like no one listened to my warnings about the Inferno!

We're not going to be able to FIX this.

:: her contempt for Delilah knew no bounds at this moment as she turned fiercely away from them.::

we're talking about escaping but we have to be prepared to FIGHT....and that's going to mean being willing to KILL.

:: gesturing to a screen that shows military forces::

THEY will do it if they can.

these SAME PEOPLE that SHE was so BENT on placing above OUR well being are now preparing to try to extinguish US because of HER "boyfriend"....

:: for Haleigh, this was a flash back to the OLD Alison...the brutal, unforgiving, COLD Alison. the one who was MORE than willing to destroy haleigh and cameron when she thought THEY were a danger to those shecared about. if Alison was at the point of faulting someone like this, it was clear that she was not above being VIOLENT with them. It was no wonder she and Morgan got along so well. Haleigh would also remember when Alison and Morgan trapped her in the elevator a year ago and attempted to STRONG ARM her when she let on that she knew about Blaze's status. But it went beyond merely being about Alison blaming Delilah. there was the sense that Alison was coming apart, much like Morgan....all that they had worked for In Illustra was now for NOTHING. and what made it worse for Alison was that ONCE AGAIN someone didnt heed her warnings. the last time that happened, the Inferno rained down on the city. THAT time, Ororo helped put the pieces back together. THIS time...there was no magick cure for this....they HAD to go forward and even with the Seer in their midst...the future remained dark and gloomy at best.::

The things that i have seen...are JUST begining.

Keep her AWAY from me. IF i am to die ...i will be in BATTLE and it will be among those that i can TRUST! She may not deserve to be turned out into the darkness which she helped to create, but I don't want to LOOK at her right now.

:: and with that, Alison left the war room's nucleus, taking Tinkerbell as she moved to another area. she needed to cool down, to PROCESS and to regain a focus if she were going to be any good. they had to prepare to move from there to where Karen and the Silver Swan was. it would be at that point the six would HAVE to make a stand.::

Nicolas was not surprised by Alison's outburst. It did not take a scientist to know that she was fiercely protective of the team, or that she was at best furious with Delilah. At worst this was a dangerous situation. He attempted to maintain some semblance of calm.

Very well, Alison.

Nicolas gestures, and an array of energy weapons appears. He picks them up as he stands quickly.

I am going now to help them. Delilah, please wormhole the others to these coordinates when the all ready is given.

And Nicolas, like that, was gone, leaving only his whereabouts to Delilah in her mind.

***********************************************

Nicolas appears inside the doorway at Sharon's cottage, standing beside Karen.

Ma, we have to get ready. Alison has foreseen that this is where we will have to make a stand. I will go out to greet them. Mike, take these weapons and better arm yourself. This is a real fight, to the death, and I will not stand by and watch any of you perish.

Nicolas steps past the couple and walks outside into the clearing that is the front yard. He is now in a dark suit with a matching Black duster, a hat perched atop his head, holding a gleaming golden scepter...

10 to midnight

<< it was all happening so fast. things seen AND unseen. with Spellbinder gone to help Alycia and her first officer escape the pentagon and Harbinger now expressing her anger at Delilah and the situation, the teeam could not afford to stay side tracked for long. Rampage met with Mike and Karen at Sharon's new home..bring high powered weapons. Karen was one of the few witches on the planet STRONG enough and capable of igniting spells strong that could reduce sentinels to melted slag, but as the six had seen in past encounters, whatever POWER they may have had, the Sentinels would make up for it numbers and strategy.>>

<< for some members, their lives, their livelyhoods were now no more. they would have to restructure, and they would have to change the way they lived...AWAY from the public eye. where they would go was not yet agreed upon but the options were firmly there...at least 3.>>

<< Black Widow, Persephone and MorningStar were the only ones in the nucleus of the War Room, with Harbinger clearly not able to even LOOK at Delilah with contempt boiling over. and all the while, in Illustra, a building that once was the beacon of Fashion and style...was now a symbol of infamy and controversy.>>

<< the crowds were gone...but something ELSE was there....from the window where Alison stood in the alcove, the view was blocked by a massive object...the beady eye of a SENTINEL peering through the small window and as Harbinger gasps, she immediately teleblinks Tinkerbell away as the massive HAND of the sentinel SMASHES through the window, the WALL as it intends to EXTRACT her. the sound and IMPACT rocks Illustra.>>

back at Sharon's new home

<< Karen changes into her flying suit and prepares to join Rampage. Sharon, although still unhappy with Nicolas and Mike, understands the situation and does not say anything. She is already in her costume standing a few feet away from Mike. she glares at him a bit with her silver eyes but then turns away as the birds in the forest around them inform her of approaching men...well armed men sporting heavy technology and equipment akin to that of MysTech's former glory.>>

<< as Rampage goes outside and prepares to meet them, SENTINELS can be heard and FELT, tromping through the forest, closing in. a well armed, organized (and soon to be seen PREPARED) strike force has come to capture Silver Swan and force her to answer for her recent acts of TERRORISM.>>

<< the lines are being drawn...and the fight to survive is about to begin. what price NOW Delilah? having such loftly ideals about the Six's role and "responsibility"...for if the team should perish, who will stand between the earth and the NEXT global threat to replace Mystech?>>

<< all that they knew, doesnt matter any more. they live from moment to moment...and this battle ...their ability to survive and escape...ALL hang in the balance.>>

Nicolas could hear them, FEEL them, all of them. There was literally an army come to take Sharon away. He would not let them, no matter what it took.

To the hordes that came for them, every human mind in range, came a whispered FEELING, nothing fully concrete, but a doubt in their minds that rose with each advancing step, a cacophony of worried statements.

I do not want to do this...I do NOT wanna die, not like this...Why can't we just leave them be? This will be the death of me.

Nicolas fully realized that this would not work on them all, but he only needed a few to falter, panic, give in and allow him to do his worst with them.

As Nicolas stayed stock still, Sharon's car came outside on its own. Taking a cue from his banter with Haleigh, the car shuddered a bit then began to unfold and TRANSFORM...into a 25-foot robot. Nicolas looked at the robot and it opened its hand as one of the heavier energy weapons Nicolas brought along appeared, attached to its arm. With a flash, the robot disappeared...

...reappearing on the shoulder of one of the trailing Sentinels, where it proceeded to blow a cavernous hole clean through the Sentinel's head.

:: With Spellbinder abruptly leaving to get Alycia, Alison blowing up then leaving, and Nicolas leaving to get Sharon and Karen, Ava rested back in her chair, pushing it slightly away from the conference table. ::

"Well, that went well. Having the team split up wasn't exactly the best course of action. Especially NOW, of all times."

:: Standing from her chair, Ava began to walk slowly around the table, stretching her tense muscles. Everyone was on edge...except for maybe Haleigh, she seemed to always thrive on situations like this. With the six scattered throughout New York City, highly emotional no less, everyone was definitely vulnerable. Suddenly, Ava stumbled into the table, feeling Illustra shake. Bracing herself, alarms began to beep throughout the war room and the numerous monitors hanging throughout the room automatically flipped to one of Haleigh's security feeds, showing a sentinal had attacked the building, smashing a hole right threw it! ::

"Shit! Computer, locate breach!"
>>Section 5B

:: Hauling ass out of the war room, Ava quickly ran down to where Section 5B was, bursting through the door, just in time to see the sentinal grabbing for Alison. Gesturing out with her hand, a huge gust of wind picked up one of the large shards of metal debris laying on the ground hurling into the sentinal's red eye. Grabbing Alison by the hand, the witch was obviously in shock from what had happened. Quickly pulling her back, Ava looked at her. ::

"Let's go! MOVE!"

Delilah just sat there, silently, elbow resting on the arm of her chair, face resting on her hand. It's not that she didn't care what they were saying to her. She just didn't want to deal with her emotions right then and there, to feel the jags and barbs being thrown at her. But they did serve a purpose, to firm her resolve that eventually she would get away and start a new, mutant power-free life.

Alison had spoken about family, then proceeded to blame her for everything that was happening. And while Delilah would admit to the pain she'd caused, and hated herself for it, she knew that THIS - this right now - was not happening because of her. Because what could she have done differently? How could her actions have prevented it? Connor had his information long before he had even met her. Probably had the safeguard of the envelope all set up and ready to go. All SHE had done was abandon her morals, and done the killing herself instead of letting THEM do it for her.

Yes, Alison had spoken about family. BUt FAMILY certainly didn't behave THIS way. Ever since this whole thing had began, she had been marginalized, her concerns shrugged off as unimportant. And Delilah was tired of being ignored. Alison was upset that people didn't listen to her? Delilah had been genuinely concerned for ALL of them too, but her words had fallen on deaf ears. And if anyone was to blame for all this, it was probably Alison's own murder of Viktor Klein that had drawn Connor's attention to the rest of them. Delilah was discreet with her powers. Which of the rest of them could say that? She could disappear into a new life. She wasn't Morgan Victoria. No one would recognize her face.

It was THEY who were forcing her to be here, then ripping her to shreds. They clearly didn't want her around, so why not let her go? Nicolas told her to take the others to Sharon's.

"I'm sure they'd rather have Morgan transport them via stepping disc."

She made no motion to do ANYTHING.

And then Illustra was ROCKED by the force of the window smashing and the Sentinel's hand coming inside the building!

Delilah rises, and follows Ava down the hallway to see what was happening. Without thinking - more of a knee jerk reaction - as Ava pulls Alison out of the way, she unleashes a laser beam and cuts the fingers off the hand of the sentinel. Better to die here and now than endure anymore reproaches from her former teammates.

Illustra's destruction

:: the force of the Sentinel rocked Illustra. but Alison knew this was the heralding of the END of this building. two more Sentinels landed and were now surrounding the building.::

:: as Persephone and MorningStar came to Harbinger's aid, Persephone caused temporary obstruction of the Sentinel's one sensor while MorningStar severed it's fingers with a laser blast.::

They will be able to adjust....its one of their hallmarks!

:: Black Widow initiated emergency evacuation procedures for her Clandestine Inc soldiers and staff, all of which escaped via underground express tunnels, she then began to destroy all files protaining to the Six that were housed in Illustra, destroying even the layout of the technology in the building. The animals were evacuated as well.::

We'll engage them OUTSIDE...but only long enough for Spellbinder to return. Then we're OUT of here.

:: in her mind and her heart, Alison barely had time to "appreciate" this final moment within Illustra. the building, all the memories, the emotions ...everything connected to this once technological and social gem was now being destroyed.::

:: with emergency evacuation procedures completed, assets shunted elsewhere....the four women themselves were now outside watching as the three Sentinels continued to slam through the building at various points. it was only a matter of moments before Illustra collapsed.::

THIS is what the people YOU were so worried about think of US Delilah. Our home...our sanctuary DESTROYED.. Morgan's life as a super model is OVER...Illustra Inc...is FINISHED.

:: now in the office park of Illustra. Harbinger, Persephone, MorningStar and Black Widow had only moments to begin their attacks before the Sentinels focused in on them but even with that window of opportunity, there was no telling HOW well prepared these massive mutant hunting robots would be.::

:: The building rocked as more sentinals arrived and began to attack. It was a surreal experience, to be within Illustra and fear that it would actually be destoryed this time. ::

"We need to get out of here!"

:: Shouting above the chaos, Alison agreed and soon all four woman evacuated outside of Illustra. Looking up at the building through the heavy rain, the towering sentinals continued to smash and pound their HOME. Debris fell, crashing into the concrete and causing the woman to move even further away. Even throughout this ordeal, Alison found it necessary to chastize Delilah about this being her fault. ::

"Alison! This isn't the time, nor the place! Illustra is on the brink of collapsing, and once it does, those sentinals are going to turn their attention onto us...it took only ONE to kill both Morgan and Sharon the last time, we can't afford to play the blame game now!"

:: Everyone who chose to be, had a right to be angry with Delilah. But yelling at her and blaming her in the middle of all hell breaking loose was definitely not the time. Looking back up at the sentinals, she felt helpless just standing there, WATCHING these things destory everything the six had worked for. ::

The Pentagon and Illustra

<< Spellbinder arrived as close to Alycia's office as possible, in her latest costume, after bashing two guards and sending them flying across the room, Morgan realized that going on a rampage in the pentagon was not the most logical action, and so, as she attempted to cap her disdain and contempt, she cast a cloaking spell. moving quietly and carefully without detection, the sorceress searched for Alycia.>>

<< soon, finding the secret shaft that Alycia and her first officer had taken, Morgan performed a scrying spell, and saw them within, as well as the gas now flooding the chamber. they were trapped, and if Morgan teleported INTO the chamber, she would be gassed as well. but having a visual on them allowed her to send a disc and with that, she teleports them BACK into the room standing before her.>>

Alycia: :: coughing rather hard...and looking surprised.:: Oh MORGAN!! you came!

Morgan: of course i did. I promised you before that if this day ever came, I would not abandon you. now we're leaving together.

Alycia: my first officer....:: she gestures to him and he nods to Morgan.:: he has a wife and family... he's been loyal to me and he knows some of "the truth." he's stood by me even now and i'm afraid they will try to come after him if they can't get me.

Morgan: no. I'll send him to his wife and children...and then ill provide them passage to another country....he'll be fine..i promise. with a generous supply of cash as well as contacts that Haleigh has around the world, he and his family will never be found by this government. now come on. we have to hurry...Alison said that the Sentinels were coming online.

<< and just then, well armed men, some FORCE WORKS soldiers burst into the room.>>

Morgan: sorry losers...the party is OVER!

<< in the twinkling of her eye, a stepping disc snatches the trio out of that room and the pentagon. Alycia's first officer will be taken care, he will be safe. he may never see Alycia again but his family will be able to live out their days in peace in another country thanks to Morgan and Haleigh while Alycia will now be "on the run" with the Six and their allies.>>

Back at Illustra

<< Morgan and Alycia arrive ...but to Morgan's shock...the building itself is nearly on the verge of COLLAPSE and they quickly regroup ouside, finding the rest of the team nearby...>>

ILLUSTRA!!!

<< Morgan cried out...>>

my home...my whole life....they're TAKING it from me...

<< Morgan couldnt help but to stare, almost transfixed by the sentinels as they smashed through Illustra....>>

Alycia...take cover. I may not be able to save Illustra...but I'll be damned if these robots are going to get through this without sustaining damage of their own!

The end of Illustra

<< The Sentinels weakened the structure of Illustra and left it battered and teetering on the edge of collapse. as they determined none of their targets were inside the structure, they proceeded to scan the immediate area.>>

<< Illustra- the building that once was the beacon of fashion and style throughout the east coast, america and among the many focal points of fashion around the world, was now nothing more than another casualty of the anti mutant/meta human sentinment which was now seemingly fully endorsed by the government. all the work, the investment, the emotions, memories that made this place so much more than merely a building were now beginning to seem distant as the shocking, tragic scene unfolded before the women of the Six.>>

<< the building began to creak and groan...the metal straining , electrical fires and other disruptions bursting out from various areas and smoke churning around the highest levels of the building. finally as the Sentinels concluded the threat of mutants in Illustra had been dealt with, the building seemed to take its cue and toppled, slowly to the side before collapsing down. Harbinger manifests a force dome around the women of the six, as the cloud of dust, debris and force sweeps for them...and then encompasses them. the force of Illustra's fall rocks the ground around them as street lights shatter, building and car alarms begin to sound off and all visual around the women is obscured for what seems like EVER. Harbinger's force dome holds steady but pieces of the building fly at it quickl and slam into it, deflecting whilding and causing more than a few flinches from the team along with Alycia. Illustra was finished...destroyed very publicly to match the now very public OUTRAGE of the Six hiding in plain sight.>>

<< while within the force dome, Morgan indicates her plan to her team mates. destroy these sentinels as they have destroyed Illustra and send a message that while they may be down..they WONT give up without a fight!>>

<< as the chaos of Illustra's fall rains down and sweeps around them, the women continue to hold their position. after moments of chaos, the cloud of dust begins to dissipate. Persephone further sweeps it away with winds and now the women are all cloaked by Spellbinder, with Alycia hidden and further protected by a small force field created by Alison.>>

<< the sentinels have destroyed their home. they must leave for the sake of their lives..but they wont go without RESPONDING to this act.>>

back in the forest

<< the squad, backed by sentinels and other war machines, moved through the forest. many of the men began to falter, experiencing anxiety, doubt, and HIGHER than normal levels of worry at the prospect of taking the Silver Swan into custody. the Sentinels and war machines, however were not effected by the passive manipulation of Rampage and they ushered their human counterparts on. soon, the sentinels could be seen far above the leafy canopy of the forest.>>

<< from all sides, and various points around the house, the squad took positions, armed with sleep gass grenades, flame blasters, repulsor blasters and high powered weaponry. their orders...to take down "this thing that has been identified as Sharon Kelly and any other mutant, metahuman present." they were the first wave, but the sentinels were right there to back and bolster th eir attacks, already scanning the house, locking on to bio scans and pulling up data on each potential target.>>

<< there was no time for a warning, or even a stand off...as the robot sent by Nicolas made the first strike, blasting a hole through the head of one of the Sentinels. it broadcast an alarm, indicating severe damage and transmitting its data to its fellow sentinels, the robot then began to experience a cascade failure in its systems. it was a preemptive strike on Rampage's part but now...the time for talking was OVER.>>

<< as the word was given to destroy the house and all that was in it, Nicolas was met with blasts of various energy patterns while flames lashed out toward the house. all at once, BIRDS came from the trees and enveloped ATTACKED by birds...crows and other species coming from the trees swooping down and attacking with savagery.>>

War!!!

Nicolas' eyes narrowed as the expected response was given. As flames shot towards the house, the nozzles of the flamethrowers were turned, redirecting the fire at the soldiers firing them.

Zing!! A shot of laser fire singed Nicolas on the arm and he looked to see various types of weapons trained on him, firing, He teleported out of the line of fire while projecting an image of actually being felled. As the soldiers advanced to what some of them saw as a body, Nicolas teleported a gas grenade from one of their shirts into their midst, activating it.

The Nic-bot tumbled down to the ground with the fallen sentinel and lay seemingly inert until his master had made a move against the soldiers. Then, it remodeled itself to look similar to the heads of the the other Sentinels and attached itself to the fallen specimen. As the Sentinel rose again, Nicolas was INSIDE the Nic-bot-head, telekinetically at the controls as it grabbed another Sentinel from behind, tossing it into two others and firing its energy weapons at a third...
