As Alison directed her to manifest a Psycho Cannon, Haleigh dropped the rocket launcher and quickly did so... Malice came in behind her and provided enhanced ammunition, and Haleigh let loose at precisely the right time, as they all worked in concert to bring Set down.... and it was successful... he was banished, though not without a parting message.

Some of the team voiced concerns that the victory felt hollow... Haleigh glanced at Morgan.... she knew the weight of what happened rested on her shoulders... and she equally knew that she would not keep what happened from Morgan.... it would hurt her... probably irrepairably, but she deserved to know the truth.

We have to tell her Nicolas.... when the Sisterhood leaves... we have to--

But it wouldn't happen that way. Alison hinted that she was going to out them and then Malice and Enchantrah took PLEASURE in reproducing a fully accurate, no holds barred playback. Haleigh watched, her expression stoic. Whatever she was thinking, whatever she was feeling was thankfully hidden now that Malice's switchboarding had been terminated.

Well...it's nice to know that while we were planning how to save your lives...you were busy maping out your own exit strategy...on your back....legs spread and mouths agape. and Haleigh...what a way to proove to Morgan how you would watch out for her....the DANGER of opening your legs for a man in a hottub...it must be unlike ANYTHING anyyone could imagine! The only OTHER thing you could do to further proove your resolve to protect her was by becoming Nicolas' QUEEN?

Haleigh turned to look at Malice, looking quite calm for someone in her position. Malice could be expected to try to twist the knife... and her words fell upon Haleigh like soft plastic toys in place of weapons. Malice was NOT one of the people who's reaction could hurt Haleigh.

"Diana... the glee with which you intentionally cause emotional and mental pain is entirely sickening.... but the truth is... I doubt that I could respect you as an enemy if you hadn't tried something like this. You can say.... and think.... whatever you want.... I don't care and I wouldn't expect someone like YOU to understand anything about this."

Isis reacted as well, condemning Nicolas and calling Haleigh a whore... but haleigh had as low an opinion of Isis as Isis did of Haleigh.... and she wasn't afraid to say it.

"Oh FUCK OFF. None of this would have HAPPENED at ALL if it weren't for you and your inept attempt to kill Nicolas just for being BORN. Got a little bit more than you bargained for with that rune, didn't you?"

But Malice and Isis would prove to be the ONLY ones Haleigh would strike BACK at. Her own team was struggling with wrapping their heads around it, and Ava was the first to repsond, in uncertainty. Haleigh looked at her younger sister.... she could see the disappointment ther in Ava's face, and Haleigh's own expression caved.... she could tell Ava wanted to support her, but ultimately she didn't like what happened and she was searching for ANY thing that would allow her to come to terms with it... ANY excuse that would let her defend her sister with conviction.

You didn't--you COULDN'T of done this willingly! Haleigh, after everything you went through with Zach....I KNOW you couldn't of been in your right mind!

"[gently]Ava..... [pausing] It's complicated."

Nicolas tried to defend her... and valiantly so, but Haleigh knew [as did most of the others] that it wouldn't go very far. But the truth was... Haleigh wasn't looking for reprieve... she wasn't seeking to be absolved by hiding behind Set's manipulation. Haleigh knew what she had done was wrong... she knew she'd hurt so many people, most of all Morgan. And she knew that she had no choice but to face it.

you STAY away from my daughter, you TROLLOP! To think that while she was being held captive by that MONSTER...you were so QUICK to show us how good you are in a crisis....on your BACK!

We SAW what you did...and how "out of your mind" you were...but your HEART was certainly in place WASNT IT!? It was so EASY for you two to FORGET that my daughter's life was at stake , Isis' life was at stake...OUR lives were at stake...and WE were going out of our MINDS worried about what couldve been happening to YOU! all the while as you helped yourselves to EACH OTHER! Malice ALSO played back the EMOTIONAL feedback. You werent THAT "ensorcelled" that you couldnt FEEL how WRONG it was what you were doing? how BEYOND tastless and VULGAR it was?

NOW look what you've done!

Karen launched into a trademark villification... and for ONCE.... Haleigh didn't even LOOK like she'd tried to defend herself. She faced Karen... her expression was one of agonized guilt, but she said nothing.... a response in silence that was so unlike her, she took the verbal abuse.... acknowledged and allowed it.

Ava and Mike argued over Nicolas' involvement. Blaze tried to keep things from blowing way up. Alison went into an emotive tirade and left. Haleigh just looked past Karen... to Morgan. Morgan... her friend. they'd been through so much but they'd finally come to a place where they WERE friends.... and now Haleigh had allowed something to happen that would drive a wedge between them.... created a huge void.... one they might never be able to overcome. Morgan looked faint... hurt beyond repair and even if she hadn't been able to react... her reticence hurt Haleigh more than anything she could have imagined. She wished for the sorceress to say something... anything, be it angry or not. and then she did... she was trying to come to grips with it.

HALEIGH!?

<< could be seen...it was real, IN HER FACE and no denying it! Her stomach TURNED as she realized that his hands, his lips...everything about him that had touched HER was now touching HALEIGH, her supposed friend, ALLY...>>

....but....we were in captivity by SET!

<< she shrieked as Delilah and Firebird both tried to steady her.>>

You PROMISED ME you'd watch out for me....we would work TOGETHER!

<< she screamed.>>

But she didn't finish. Morgan unleashed a scathing verbal attack, first on Nicolas, then on Haleigh....

I WAS RIGHT ABOUT YOU... YOU ARE PATHETIC! NOW I KNOW WHY YOU WERE SO BENT ON BEING NICOLAS' QUEEN! YOU'D ALREADY PASSED THAT INTERVIEW by BENDING OVER in the hot tub! you self centered, back stabbing, twisted TRAMP!

and again.... Haleigh was uncharacteristically quiet. Did she BELIEVE what they were saying? Did she think she deserved it? Could she possibly AGREE? It was hard to tell.

"Morgan.... I... Alison is completely correct.... the 'devil made me do it' excuse will only go so far... and though I know it's probably meaningless, because it will give you no consolation nor me any solace.... you have to know that I am so ashamed. I betrayed you.... regardless of the circumstances that will never change. I wish I had been strong enough... I wish I could have fought it better than I did. [pausing painfully... as if she didn't want to say it but knew she had to] There's more.... You deserve the truth. If I can give you nothing else... I owe you honesty. Blaze is right... Set may have played puppetmaster... but it was only because the strings were there for him to pull. I.... I love Nicolas... [tears filling her eyes] I do.... please forgive me, I love him, and it's the only reason things went as far as they did. I am.... SO sorry. I know that I hurt you.... that's not what I wanted."

Nicolas reacted, firing back, giving as good as he got. Haleigh felt sorry for him... he wanted so badly for them to understand that he was as much a victim as they were... but Haleigh knew that Morgan wasn't ready to rationalize their actions.... she was HURT, and she was reacting out of that pain. Nicolas apologized to Haleigh again.... but she didn't say anything [out loud]. She had already forgiven Nicolas for his part in what had happened... and he would know that. She wanted to comfort him, calm him... hug him and tell him that everything would be okay [even if she didnt believe it would].... but she knew going to him now would be insult to injury for Morgan... that upon seeing Haleigh go to him, she was likely to strike them BOTH DEAD on the spot, and so Haleigh remained where she was, and never took her eyes off Morgan. Nicolas left them... going god only KNOWS where.... and Haleigh glanced down for a moment, her expression pensive... but then she looked at Morgan again.

<< the weather above seemed to grow stormy...but Morgan didnt care. her tear streaked face whipped around to Haleigh, who apologized for hurting her, like THAT would change ANYTHING at this moment!? Set gave Haleigh what she wanted. THAT was the foundation of the whole thing. As Ava said, no one could be blamed for who they were attracted to...but...this....this was just BEYOND anything Morgan was prepared to deal with, much less forgive. the fact that people had WARNED her about Nicolas, the fact that she'd wondered BEFORE if Haleigh had designs on him when they first arrived to Aerie and now THIS!? Morgan couldnt function with reason anymore, the next step was to ATTACK!>>

NOT ANOTHER WORD...or THIS TIME there will be NO replacement body to fix what i do to you. you have MORE than shown me how STUPID i was for trusting EITHER of you.

I tried SO HARD to be good..i tried to open my heart...i risked my life for these two WRETCHES!

<< pulling away from her mother and delilah, she cries out and looks to the sky!>>

<< and now, The six were fractured, not just in numbers but internally as well. Delilah and Karen CLEARLY against Nicolas and Haleigh, just as Alison had prophecied. Ava was now infuriated with Nicolas blaming him as much as anyone blamed Haleigh. Alison abandonning them all, including Morgan and Ava. Morgan retreated to Limbo and Nicolas was underground...leaving a bewildered Sharon and Blaze among the few seemingly OBJECTIVE parties left standing there. >>

<< it was now well into the night over and around Aerie....and the darkness of emotional unrest was just as strong as the night skies and the ocean driven winds.>>

<< Seeing that Karen would not allow Mike near her, Delilah led a distraught Karen away, but not before she CURSED Haleigh and Nicolas. Promising that the fire of guilt would BURN their souls. it was a scene eeriely and uncomfortably similar to the alternate timeline, when a distressed alternate Karen vowed revenge on alternate Nicolas after he was aquitted for murdering the alternate Morgan. In that timeilne, Alison had turned her back on most of the team as well and Ava suffered trauma from it too.>>


<< Sharon stood watch, to make sure everyone either went their own way, or refrained from getting physical. She would stay with Mike and Blaze, making sure they were ...okay. There was little more she could do at this point.

<< could the mainstreams be on their way to even DEEPER level of despair even now with Set gone? Though the initial danger was over...more danger...more emotional travail awaited...and all we can do, is watch.>>
