Why do I like this show so much?? Anyone else see it? If not, why the hell not? It's friggin awesome.

hot dog! roll around in the mud of trash tv with me. Embrace the CWy goodness of it. It's everything you want out of a CW show.

Oh, I have been waiting forever for a show based on the comics.

I really liked it. It has potential. A lot of people were turned off by the Archie/Grundy sex but I wasn't. I mean, it's not like they have made Grundy the same one as in the comics.

I've not read a single Archie comic ever, I don't know anything at all about the comics actually, so I cant understand why I like the show.

You ain't missing much, then. LOL! The comics, at least the ones that I have read, are wholesome, sweet, and pure [completely unlike this show hehehe].

That is what I thought was the most interesting; the perceived dichotomy between the show and the comics. It seems the show is almost surrealism in that there is something about the whole thing that feels a parody.

I think I realized what it was about the show- it had a dark Happy Days vibe to it. You give it some peppy music and a laugh track and it could be a Happy Days reboot. I think that's it.

I grew up reading Archie comics. Archie, Betty & Veronica (& their seperate titles), Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Cheryl Blossom, even Katy Keene. All these characters & their titles. My MOM also read these as a little girl. It's one of those things, like Bewitched, that has mutli-generation crossover appeal.

I'll even confess that I read the Archie/ DC comics cross over LOL, & one of the pencilers from the Betty & Veronica books used to do the pencils for Marvel's Dazzler series when they overhauled her from "disco queen" to a modern super heroine. He recently passed away.

This TV show? o_O not so much. Not everything needs to be adapted to the small screen, it doesnt translate well.

I'm pretty sure that this is my new tv obsession. I simply love it. Also, I'm pretty sure that I adore Kevin Keller.

Random things I like about it:

Cheryl's lips
Archie's hair
Josie's pussycat ears
Jughead's hat

Things I hope to see:

Betty ODing accidentally [because it would add more layers to the character than the cliche'd 'girl next door']
Betty finding out what Archie has been doing with the music teacher
Hermione Lodge and Alice Cooper getting into an EPIC catfight over Fred Andrews [HA!]

Okay, yeah, so... I caught up. All caught up now. That's all I'm saying.

Like I got time for that!
Point the horse to water baby, I'll get a drink. I've always wanted to make one but had no idea how to do it. If it aint HTML or wordpress I am lost. I'm lying, I'm still pretty damned lost at Wordpress too.

EDIT: BlueAndGold.club is an open domain. That sounds like a great idea for a Riverdale fan forum name... doesn't it? Huh? Huh?

I think that we should wait and see [because I would DEFINITELY be interested in a Riverdale message board myself]. It would suck if someone were to start one...and then the show gets canceled.

It wouldn't suck if the someone that started it were not me but Clara; I wouldn't really care much at all then... but yeah, would suck if I did it. I can't imagine they would cancel it with all the pub it's getting.

From Uproxx:

If you aren’t watching Riverdale in The CW, you are missing out on some of the sharpest writing on television wrapped in a candy-coated pulp. What should’ve been an absurd concept — Twin Peaks meets Dawson’s Creek — has instead morphed into murder mystery that takes the iconic Archie gang through the looking glass in a delightfully dark way. Of course, since Riverdale is from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the same mind that gave us the horror comic series Afterlife with Archie, the success shouldn’t be a surprise. The show has been such a success, The CW has already renewed it for a second season.

But that doesn’t mean Riverdale doesn’t respect its roots. Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, and Veronica Lodge has been part of the fabric of American pop culture for over 75 years. That’s a lot of history. For fans who have been curious what a more traditional 1950s Americana version of the show would look like, the cast has a treat for you. As part of a #TBT (Throwback Thursday), KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, and Camila Mendes participated in a retro photoshoot that looks straight out of the comics.

Now I’m kind of wanting to see what Archie would look like as Twin Peaks meets Peyton Place.

KJ looks eerily similar to the Archie in the [retro] comics, and I am not sure how I feel about that. LOL!

On an exciting note, it's been renewed for Season 2!!!!
