we have a thread for songs that describe how you feel at any given moment...but what about a song that describes you as a whole? a song that you just have to sing out to, or something that your friends would say "oh that is DEFINATELY all about them!"

well based on my own experiences as well as the input of my closest friends/family here are my "anthems"

Whitney Houston- I'm every woman

Cher- Strong enough

T.L.C.- I'm good at being bad

Madonna- Express Yourself

Madonna- Human Nature

Madonna- Ray of Light

Lil' Kim, Angie B, Da Brat, Missy Elliot, Left Eye- Not Tonight (Ladies Night)

Aretha Franklin feat Lauryn Hill- A rose is still a rose

Janet Jackson feat Carly Simon- Son of a gun (I bet you think this song is about you)

I have a couple that I guess could be considered my personal anthems.

Eddie Money - Two Tickets to Paradise
Cold - With My Mind
Nickleback - Photograph
Thrice - Stare at the Sun
Rascall Flats - Life is a Highway

“…I‘m a little bit of everything, all rolled into one”

“Bitch” by Meredith Brooks is the best anthem song ever for me and a lot of other women I know. I think that any girl [including myself] can relate to it at most times in their lives. Some people think “bitch” to be an “oh-my-god vulgar” word. When I play my Blurring the Edges CD exclaiming ‘this is my song!’ family members tend to frown. Oh, oh well. My other ‘anthems’ are “Hand in My Pocket”, “Eight Easy Steps”, and “Everything” by Alanis Morissette. “Just A Girl” by No Doubt is great, too.

Only Hope - Switchfoot

a slew (is that even a word?) of Lifehouse songs:

Hanging By a Moment (always #1)
The Sky is Falling
Sick Cycle Carousel
Take Me Away
Blind

and some Evanescence:

Whisper
Imaginary

last but not least, one Creed song:

Higher
