We all know what tomorrow is...can you believe there are people who STILL havent filed?

As for myself, I e-filed last month and i've already received my refund  So i'm not even worried about it, but i was reminded of how many people HAVENT filed when i went to the post office today to drop some mail off and saw how FLOODED the place was.

I always wonder why people right until the LAST MINUTE to file their taxes?

So...anyone HERE a "list minute filer"? how many of you take advantage of E-filing? If you go to irs.gov, it will direct you to a host of tax preparation websites that offer FREE e-filing if you qualify (usually you have to make under $54,000)

I seriously dread tax time, especially since I work for a law firm who specializes in taxation and finance. We obviously assist in other areas of the law. But when January arrives, we're busy and by the time April comes our firm is a zoo! Not only do I have a first hand experience seeing what other taxpayer prefer but my own as well.

So, I've always utilized the e-filing on the IRS web site, its such a nifty little tool lol. But, since I've been working for the law firm for two years now I hardly have the time. Instead, I have one of our taxation Attorney's file for it. I just mail them in via Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested. I always make sure my refunds are directly deposited into my checking account. I've always preferred to file my taxes by the beginning of February to get them done and over with. Besides, I also get my refund faster.

I'm pretty excited about the stimulus packets too that the IRS has initiated. Another reason why I made sure to get my tax returns filed quicker lol. I'll have my tax rebate by May 16, 2008, directly deposited into my account, woo hoo!

But, moving onto some of our clients its insane. Some of them haven't filed for years, we had a client who hadn't filed for about twenty-two years! It was insane not to mention a hot mess (Farrah, I love that word! lol). What's so frustrating is that some clients wait until the day before or the day the tax returns are due! Not only do they risk an Attorney making a mistake but the client will forget to include certain deductions. Which then the Attorney has to re do the form on Pro-Series! Blah!

I have my personal grudges against people who file at the very last minute lol. I get stuck assembling them at the end of it. A tedious process indeed lol.

I've seen a lot of tax extensions though for clients who haven't gathered all of the appropriate documentation we need to create the tax returns. In that respect its good because then the client has until October to file the return. Which makes it less stress on the whole firm lol.

All I have to say is thank God tax season is over!! LOL!
